Just as Bellamy was about to say something else, the door was pushed open with a bang, and an inspector rushed in, saying, "Director David, the GCO funds—the director has ordered Lance, the Tax Investigator, to personally take over. Right now, it's going through the unfreezing process..."

David hung up the phone; it was Caroline from GCO who had informed him that the funds had been cleared by the Long Beach Branch.
Next, David went through his contacts, found Director Saxton's number, and dialed: "Director Saxton, the funds are about to be deposited. Be on the lookout, and once it's received, please transfer it over to me."
In the Sand Bay Branch, Saxton was also overjoyed at the news, replying continuously, "Don't worry, Director David, I will transfer it to you at top speed."
"Huh?"
Upon hearing this, Brown felt his brain short-circuit.
Weren't David's funds frozen by the Long Beach Branch? How could he have surpassed him?
"Damn it, it really is!"
Kelly had already taken out her phone and opened the tax performance list. When she saw that David was currently ranked first, she almost couldn't believe her eyes.

"You think I wanted this? You should probably ask our Director Ducray about this, beep, beep, beep..."

Listening to the beeping sound from the phone, Brown swore again, furiously smashing his phone on the ground.
Even though, for now, David's tax performance was only 30 million ahead of him.
