Chapter 765 T.D.O.N.B: Not-So-Much Of A Trouble

I waited for them to begin leaving, and myself went towards the opposite side, to create this illusion that I was going somewhere on foot. I kept it up until they didn't vanish from my sight, only then did I shadow walk back to Arc.

I turned into a crow, then flew all the way to the window where I could see his office. He was inside, alone, waiting for me while reading some papers with his jacket off. I passed through the door utilizing my skill and then turned back to my regular self.

- Hi - he said completely not surprised, but I didn't register it at first, since I was already speaking too.

- First of all why the fuck can you now speak to me from a completely different world, second of all why the hell do I always need to save your ass, and finally third of all how the fuck did you know I was coming? - I recited.

He had this annoying smirk on his face. He gently put down the papers he was holding on to, then stood up from his chair. I already was alarmed since he didn't really seem stressed at all, which was weird considering the message I received.

- You are not the only one who makes progress, you know? But that aside, it's not really an emergency. I had to trick you because otherwise, you wouldn't come. - he confessed walking past me to pick up his jacket from the stand in the corner of his office.

- I am in the middle of something, so I don't have time for your games, Will - I growled at him.

- I did a friend a favor - he said. - It's Joseph. He really wants to speak to you. I could tell you what it is about, but since you are not gonna like it, I'll let him tell you everything.

As he was speaking he grabbed the jacket, the put it on. Without even looking at me, he headed straight to the exit.

I didn't follow him at first, but when he opened the door and marched through it, leaving it open, I just gave up. I rushed after him, pissed off completely. It had to show on my face since the secretary reacted by jumping on her chair.

The whole space where usually many people were waiting for a chance to speak with Will was now empty. I registered it and got curious, but still kept following my friend all the way to the elevator. We got inside, and rode a single flor down, to enter a corridor with few doors leading to conference halls.

I visited that place once or twice, so I knew.

We got inside one of those conference halls, whereby the long table was sitting Joseph Wu, completely alone. He immediately stood up. He was about to greet us, but it ended up with him just opening his mouth because I was faster.

- What the fuck do you want?! - I yelled at him.

He glanced at Will, who slightly raised his hand, as a gesture to remain calm.

- I have a big favor to ask of you, mister Peter. I know that the timing might be not suitable for you, and I apologize for that, but I believe that I have to take action now because it might be too late if I waste any more time - he responded with a calm voice.

There was something in his whole being that calmed me down. I really wanted to yell at that guy, but his actions made me feel wrong about that.

- What do you want? - I just repeated myself.

- It's about my son...

- What the hell did he do again? - I interrupted him before he could finish his sentence. - I'm not his fucking babysitter. Can't you deal with him by yourself?

- I did my best. I took care of his every need. I gave him a proper education - he immediately argued, and I sensed a bit of anger in his tone of voice. - But it all didn't matter. John is becoming a disgrace. He would already be a lost cause, if not for you. Meeting you, mister PEter changed him. Meeting you for the second time changed him even more, and I feel like if he would be able to stay around you more, he would become a decent person. That's when I heard about your wife working on some charity project I immediately contacted mister William.

- This is already done. You are too late - I informed him.

- I know. I learned everything today from mister William - he said.

This made me look at Will, who clearly ignored me, focusing his attention on Joseph.

- I also know you could do me this favor. John is waiting outside, he is prepared to go with you. I will repay you in any way you want.

- You are insane. You both are insane! - I growled at them.

- Peter! - Will yelled. - Listen to the man. Don't be a dick. You can help here.

- And do exactly what? Take that brat with me? So everybody out there will know that I can jump back and forth? Do you fucking realize what this will lead to? They won't shut their mouths about this, and I'm not a fucking taxi driver! I'm not gonna be taking them here and there on a whim.

- You can pull this off. Just say I was the one who send him or something - Will argued. - They will believe you. Besides, you already used shadow walk to them there.

- Yea, but I didn't explain how it works, so they have no clue if we can go back! - I yelled.

- Please, mister Peter - Joseph rejoined the conversation.

Despite all the yelling, he remained calm.

- Fuck you both! - I shouted and walked out of the conference room.

- It will be fine. He is going to do it - were the last words I heard before the door close behind me, and they belonged to Will.

He knew me too well. I was furious, and yet I did walk out of the building to meet the brat.
