In my warm, fluffy space, I latched onto something markedly warmer. So comfortable…

Fuuu~

I exhaled. Something soothingly tapped on my back. The vibrations nudged me awake and my eyes cracked open. A white shirt, a delicate smell… and an arm wrapped around my back.

Lifting my head, my eyes met deep blue.

“G-Good morning…”

While I thought I’d had a great night’s sleep, it was probably only because I was in Fikar’s arms.

I slowly turned to get up, leaving a tinge of disappointment on Fikar’s face. But then my back bumped into something.

Looking behind me, I saw white things covering my bed, a few rolling off and onto the floor. They were round, each about as thick as my arm, and they went boing-boing when I touched them.

“What’s this?…”

The boing-boings had smooth surfaces, but when put together they stuck to each other. It wasn’t as if they were glued together, though, and you could split them apart again with just your hands. They were neither warm nor cold, but it seemed like being buried in them helped to regulate my body temperature and keep me comfortable.

I’d never seen such huge marshmallow-like things before, never mind using them as bedding.

“I got it.”

“… from who?”

Tilting his head, Fikar picked up the boing-boings that had fallen off the bed and stuck them onto the ones at my feet. They felt very light, so you might be able to make a dome out of them if you had enough…

I pressed down on one of them to see what would happen, and it seamlessly regained its original form with no signs of exploding or tearing. Also, my hands didn’t get sticky, so I guess they weren’t actually a group of marshmallow wannabes…

I didn’t know what I was touching, but it was clearly top-tier bedding, although a little voice in my head insisted that we shouldn’t be careless about strange things from strangers.

By the looks of it, my fever had disappeared overnight, which Fikar checked as I had Mesil-san’s soup from last night for breakfast, wearing a blanket over my shoulders. After that, I had a bowl of fruits that Fikar had soaked in honey the night before.

I think he gathered the fairy mint honey while I was bedridden, perhaps because he remembered that some of it was gifted to us last fall and that I used to drink it. To easily harvest so much of a rare and hard-to-find ingredient, Fikar was truly amazing.

After breakfast, a still-concerned Fikar sent me back to bed. We had a leisurely chat and Fikar played a little with Anemone-chan, who frolicked on the nightstand.

Fikar had never been sick before, apparently, and he’d never nursed a sick person either. I’d wager that he panicked and thought a stamina dish would strengthen my body. Fikar seemed dejected that he had failed, but I could sense that he was still worried about me, so I suppose he did a good job for his first time nursing someone back to health.

Well, he had wondered if he should add some perversity mushrooms to the soup after hearing that they were nutritious. Mm, that would’ve been a little unforgivable.

By the way, later on, I asked around town to find out who the boing-boings had come from, but no one had a clue. Or rather, no one even knew what it was. I was horrified that I’d used some unidentified object as a bed, but after using the warm and well-ventilated boing-boings, I couldn’t bear to get rid of them and they still laid on my bed.

If it’s not some kind of egg or something, I don’t care.

Ever since coming to this world, I’ve grown.

“Nnn, I don’t feel lonely anymore. It’s okay, I’ll sleep alone.”

As an unexpected side effect of my cold, I now had a hard time saying no to Fikar’s worried glances at my bedside every night.
