Chapter 412 After Math Pt. 1
Dinner was too long for the princess. Too far away from Samuel but too close with his near family. She'd have thought her aura would've kept her table well clear. It seemed however that stubborn determination and ignoring danger was breed into the Vedova Nera bloodline.
Thankfully, very few tried to talk with her seeming content enough to share the same table. Except Emily who only spoke enough to say everything would be fine.
Still, the princess found herself in search of something that would keep her in check after the meal ended
Lena inwardly grimaced at the sight of the tables filled with alcohol. Liquor was exactly what she didn't need right now. The usually tantalizing amber liquid held little interest to the princess as she made her away from the crowd. In fact, the smell of it lingering in the air only worked to further unsettle her.
Of course there wouldn't be anything else to drink. After bloodshed and violence, copious amounts of alcohol were a mafia's favorite thing. Too bad they weren't something Lena was currently interested. She would wait at a later point to see if coffee was an option.
In the meantime, she would just have to wait at the edge room. Luckily most everyone there didn't care or know her enough to come and bother her. Beyond Samuel's blood relatives.
Everyone except him it seemed. More than likely a series of events that Marcus had something to do with.
How much longer would they make her wait before she could speak with Samuel?
"You're still mine." Lena broke the kiss long enough to speak those three words before capturing the other's mouth once more.
The kiss didn't last much longer, however, before Samuel pulled away. His hands remained around Lena's waist to keep her in place even as he used his body to put some distance between them.
"We need to talk." These words caused the princess's eyes to narrow. Samuel wasn't wrong, but those weren't the words that she wanted to hear at the moment. Her lust thrummed right below the surface. A desire that wanted to do a variety of wicked things. None of which involved talking.
Seeing the resolve in Samuel's eyes to talk despite his own arousal, Lena decided that she would humor the other.
"Not here, though." Her voice remained low as she cast a sideways glance towards the center of the room. She may not have seen him but knew better than to think that Marcus wasn't watching them.
"Your room?" Samuel hesitated slightly, searching Lena's face. Talking was obviously not the only reason the princess wanted a room. He nodded, though, unable to think of anywhere else better.
He had already done his due diligence for the evening. Hence, there was no reason why he couldn't disappear from his own party for a period of time. Jovani could cover for him if anyone had questions or wanted to speak with him.?It was the least the man could do for him after today.
If Msrcus had a problem, they could discuss that later as well. He had given his other cousin what he wanted, now it was his turn to be left alone for the evening.
He could deal with family matters or whatever else after he and Lena had resolved their issues.
Something that would hopefully only take a few minutes alone.novE)Lb-1n
