Chapter 106 - My mates

I stared at him with big rounded eyes. Did I hear him wrong? Demos stood his ground with that huge smile on his handsome face. The fact that he wore nothing from head to his perfectly sculpted torso invited the gaze to dive lower. I struggled to keep my focus on his face. Now, I under the thing men have with cleavage.

"Liliane," his smile slowly stretched revealing teeth. Demos doesn't do smile with teeth. It makes my face grew hot and I couldn't hold his intense eyes. "Liliane, I'm really trying to be cool here and your eyes are eating me up. How do you think I'll interpret that?" Grant chuckled beside me.

"She did the same thing to me in the elevator," Demos gave him a genuine surprise look. I went past them to the kitchen area, my mouth has suddenly gone dry. Also, I needed to be far away from them. It's true I reacted to them, but that was normal. We were mates. I got myself a glass of water and drunk it in one sip. With my back turned towards them, I heard footsteps hurry to our room and back.

"Here," called Demos, I sprung away. He pulled red pieces of cloth from a paper bag. I frowned at it. I wasn't sure what I was looking at.

"How did you know my size..." he smirked at me. "Oh, whatever. Don't tell me," I waved his away.

"It's curious, how people mistook me for a human when I entered the store. Actually, I kept getting the same reactions. When I corrected the first salesgirl she ran off as if I've insulted her. So I left and went to the next without stating what I was. It seemed like most of the employees don't have brainwave connectors and since we are not completely online, it's a little odd. So they don't see my artificial icon, it only appears on security cameras. I guess there's a clear distinction between the cyborgs and the humans but since there are so few artificial here, they are not used to us. Especially the domestic ones," he placed the garment on the surface of the bar. It was a vivid red. The one that screamed look at me. I was a little shaken by his choice. Red, like the dress I wore when I first encountered Jay Dawson.

-Liliane, I want you to wear it. There's no Jay Dawson to hurt you here. It's just a lonely beach with just us.

I stared at the intense color, unpleasant images threaten to flood my mind. Grant came to my left and leaned against the bar. He crossed his arms over his chest. That distracted me a little.

"I had the same experience in the lab. They just assume you're human," said Grant. He never mentioned anything about it. I came to join them and brushed my fingertips over the soft fabric.

"When did this happened?" I lifted my head. He got my full attention. Grant gave me a tight smile. What was wrong with being mistaken as a human?

"It happened first when you were offering your food, the day I accompanied you to the cafeteria. Someone from the other table asked me about the menu, asking what was good. I didn't want to impolite so I told her that I was artificial. She quickly turned around and ignored me all the time we went there," Demos frowned, for my part, I held my ribs and laughed.

"I think she was hitting on you," Grant paused, uncrossed his arms to face me.

"How so?" I picked up the bikini top and turned it around. It was just an innocent piece of cloth. I shouldn't attach bad memories to something Demos went into so much trouble to buy.

"You're cute, you were sitting alone, so she went for the kill," I placed it in front of me and turned towards Demos. He nodded with approval.

"Thank you for the gift," I mouthed the words. "But I'm a little scared I'll look like a whale..." Demos glared made me stop in midsentence. I pressed my lips together to prevent myself from saying shit that will ruin the mood.

-Love yourself

I sighed and turned at Grant. He seemed lost in whatever turmoil was going on with him. He stayed thoughtful for a minute as if the thought never occurred to him that girls would hit on him. I grabbed the bottom and marched to the door to our room.

"Boys!" they both straightened up. "I'll need some time to squeeze into this thing. If you can get me a bottle of something sweet to bring along it will be awesome," Grant pushed away from the bar. His face lit up.

"Let's eat dinner there. Sunset will be awesome," damn, he always finds ways to make everything into a date in a romantic setting. I waved at him with a grin.

"Do whatever you want. I'm off to a shower," I left the door to our room open and went to the bathroom. I can't believe they have talked me into wearing a red bikini. I stretched it in front of me with a grimace. This thing was way too outrageous for me.

-Just wear it...once

"How much did it cost you?" I whispered to the garment. I was still, not used to speaking to them in my head. I felt like I was losing my mind when I spoke out loud. We really need to speak about that load of money Demos was using. Was it right to just use Jil's money? I shoved the thoughts away. I didn't need bad clouds, I needed to shave.

Half an hour later after lots of giggles and embarrassment I was able to squeeze in my butt into the bottom, it was cut pretty high and it compressed my belly, making it look flat which impressed me. The push-up bra was very revealing and I placed both of my hands over the clearage. I've never worn anything like this. I felt n.a.k.e.d. A light knock on the door made me jumped and my heart almost leaped out of my mouth.

"Liliane, come out. We've already prepared dinner. I made a cold pasta salad. You will love it," said Grant from the other side of the door. He was trying to lure me with food. It half worked. I grabbed my large white T-shirt that reached mid-thigh and pulled it on. When I opened the door both their grin dropped. I love that face.

"I'm ready! Let's go swim," I threw my arms in the air. Both their eyes went to my exposed thighs. The fact that I raised my arms made it lifted up. "Guys! Eyes up," I waved at them and both smiled.

"Come on, before I change my mind," Demos had a sullen pout. I guess he was disappointed. They took a table cloth, a bag with dinner into and a lamp. I had no idea where they got the lamp. I grabbed a large towel and off we went to our secret beach. I haven't noticed that Grant has changed into an identical pair of shorts as Demos. At least, he was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt cut so deep you could peek at his beautiful chest. Grant wore a less revealing version of the same color. Both worn white tops and black shorts. What was that with dressing in the same clothes? Twins were not my thing.

Grant walked ahead with me in the middle and Demos protecting the rear. He had pulled his back into a tiny ponytail. His hair curled into a cute flower shape. I stared at it and wanted to touch it. I never knew I had hair fetish until I met them. Grant gave me a peek over his shoulder. He was carrying dinner while Demos was in charge of the lamp and the table cloth. We went through the open field in silence. Then came face to face with the tall trees that shielded the cliff from view.

"I've forgotten the candles," said Grant. I chuckled, I couldn't help it. "Should I go get it," he frowned. I touched his back to urge him to keep walking.

"We already have a lamp," added Demos with a hint of irritation. He turned to me for approval.

"Yeah, we don't need those," Grant pouted and kept walking. We reached the cliff, it was the same breath-taking scenery that I remembered. The vast blue sky everywhere I turned with a hint of pink clouds gliding across. The ocean took a clear emerald tint turning transparent as it washed over the white sandy the beach below.

"Beautiful," I sighed.

"I've found a path, guys," called Grant from the left. My slippers were not made for making on rocks. Demos helped me climbed down and by some miracle, we made it safely down. I looked up at the rumbled covered with dry weed and thorny bushes. This will be dangerous to climb when the sunsets.

-I'll carry you on my back. Remember when you got drunk.

I glared at Demos. Yeah, I remember, my ass was exposed to the world to see. Thank god I was too drunk to be embarrassed back there. No going to happen again. They settle down on the spread table cloth, they sat facing the slow waves. Grant crossed his legs at his ankles while leaning on his elbows, very relaxed. Demos had his knees up and rested his arms on them. His shirt was gone.

"Come enjoy," he lifted his head. It was a little too sunny for me. I had no sunblock, I'll fry in this heat. I shaded my face with my hands. Demos extended his arm to the bag and pulled out a small bottle.

-Come, I got cream when I bought the bikini. I don't want you to burn.

I kept my distance. That meant, I had to get rid of the T-shirt. Hell, no. I'm not going to be a fool again. Demos narrowed his eyes at me. Grant just grin. I guess he like the beach too much to care about our little drama over my complex.

"If you don't come willingly, I'll tickle you to death," he flashed me a smirk that said it all. I took a step behind.

"You wouldn't dare," I prepare to make a run for it. Demos tossed the bottle over his shoulder, it landed in the sand. In seconds, he on his feet. I gasped and run towards Grant. Before I knew it his arms were around my waist. I screamed and giggled when I found myself off the ground. I was happy I left my glasses home. I slapped his n.a.k.e.d back.

"Do not mess with the alpha," called Grant from his spot. I gave his a dark look.

"On what side are you?" I tried to be angry, but it wasn't easy when you struggling in someone's arms. He slapped my exposed butt. The motion made me flinched. My heart raced.

"Hey! Put me down, jerk!" he laughed and turned around. I had to close my eyes over the spinning world. "Please! Demos," I yelled and when he did, I fell to my knees.

"You ok?" he helped me to my feet. I blinked a couple of times before his face stopped spinning. He gave me a quick kiss that startled me.

"Hey!" I protested with my hands flat on his bare chest. Then I noticed his were under my T-shirt, pressed against the small of my back. "Hey!" I said one again.

"Can I kiss you, my beautiful wife?" my cheek went blazing hot. His smile stretched. Demos placed delicate kisses on the corner of my lips. I gasped opening up for a deeper kiss. He pulled me closer to his body. I couldn't win against such passion. I melted in his arms. His hands roamed under my long shirt.

-I like it, the moment I saw it in the storefront. I imagine you wearing it.

He cupped my face and pulled away to see me. I gaze into his loving cooper eyes. Damn, so much love, I felt my knees going weak. He pressed his forehead against mine. Grant just appeared on our left and hugged us both. I sighed closing my eyes. At this moment, I was peaceful.

"Now can we go swim?" whispered Grant against my hair. I shivered. He was the first one to let go, he pulled his shirt over his head while running to the waves. He jumped in with a scream. Demos kissed my cheek pulled me by the hand to the cloth spread on the sand. He picked up the bottle and waved it at me.

"Protection first," my heart jumped in anticipation. He sat down and patted the spot between his legs. I joined him, he ran his fingers in my hair and twisted it into a knot. the places where his fingers touched was set on fire. I closed my eyes and pressed my lips together.

"Can I?" he whispered as he reached for my shirt. I nodded slowly, I bet was ears were red too. "Hands up," he murmured against my neck. I exhaled and m.o.a.ned at the same time. He took the shirt off in one movement. I heard the sound of the bottle and when he spilled the cream in his hands, how he rubbed his hands together. Then the minutes stretched on. My eyes flipped open.

"You want me to touch you?" he teased.

"Yes," I admitted.
