Chapter 54: The Death of Xu Chao “Xu Chao, we finally meet.” Qin Jun smiled slightly, looking down at Xu Chao as if he were an ant. Xu Chao looked at Qin Jun, filled with regret and unwillingness, but mostly confusion.

“How did you find me?” Xu Chao desperately wanted to know how Qin Jun had located him; otherwise, he wouldn’t die peacefully!

Qin Jun smiled, surprisingly treating Xu Chao quite well after meeting him. He didn’t humiliate Xu Chao from a superior position but acted as if he were a guest.

“Does it matter?” Qin Jun didn’t answer the question.

From the moment Xu Chao appeared, Qin Jun had known his name. Xu Chao’s shadow disguise was perfect against others but useless against him.

However, the Doomsday Villain System was Qin Jun’s deepest secret, one he wouldn’t reveal. To him, it was enough to eliminate Xu Chao, the Child of Destiny, and gain villain points.

Xu Chao’s eyes were filled with unwillingness. Even now, facing this dire situation, he still harbored hope. He hoped for a miracle—perhaps someone would save him, or a spatial shift would allow him to escape.

After all, his talent had yet to be fully realized! How could he willingly die like this?!

It seemed he wanted to say more, but Qin Jun had no patience to waste on him. Villains die from talking too much, and since Xu Chao was a Child of Destiny, who knew if an accident might happen.

Only a completely dead Child of Destiny was a good Child of Destiny.

Qin Jun directly extended his hand and pointed at Xu Chao’s forehead. The next moment, Xu Chao felt the void before him twist as an inexplicable force attacked him.

Despite his complete despair, Xu Chao couldn’t help but struggle against death. He roared, and his shadow emerged from the void, blocking the attack.

In this life-and-death moment, Xu Chao’s strength exploded, surpassing his usual limits and barely managing to block Qin Jun’s strike. Qin Jun’s eyes flashed with surprise. Xu Chao’s talent was indeed strange.

Despite having little to no training and being a novice at level 1, he could block a strike from Qin Jun, a level 2 peak expert, all because of his peculiar shadow.

But that was all.

Against overwhelming strength, no talent could save Xu Chao. Qin Jun sneered, his eyes turning golden as he emitted an aura of extreme danger, distorting the space around him.

Xu Chao’s shadow was firmly immobilized by an invisible force, severing his connection with it.

Without his shadow, Xu Chao was just an ordinary person. The next moment, an invisible force struck Xu Chao, slamming him against the wall, shattering his bones and causing excruciating pain that nearly made him pass out.

Staring at Qin Jun, Xu Chao knew he was about to die. Seeing the Qin family experts around Qin Jun, Xu Chao felt a deep sense of injustice.

Why did Qin Jun have everything from birth, with so many experts serving him?

Despite deeply regretting his previous arrogance, Xu Chao couldn’t help but lash out one last time: “Qin Jun, you’re only powerful because of your privileged birth! Without it, you wouldn’t be much better than me!”

“Really?” Qin Jun remained calm, unangered. He smiled, looking at the fallen Xu Chao. “You think my strength comes entirely from my background?”

Xu Chao sneered but said nothing.

Qin Jun continued, “Since the apocalypse began, I’ve been cultivating day and night, never slacking off. What about you? I can tell your talent is good, but your strength is weak. What have you been doing all this time?”

Qin Jun’s few words left Xu Chao speechless. What had he been doing? He hadn’t trained at all, indulging only in pleasures!

Meanwhile, Qin Jun, the noble young master with countless experts at his command, had been tirelessly cultivating. How could he not be strong?

Seeing Xu Chao’s pale, despairing face, Qin Jun’s eyes were full of mockery and disdain. In the apocalypse, despite the Qin family’s dominance, they still felt a constant sense of crisis. Qin Jun, and the entire Qin family, were always aware of this danger.

Hence, Qin Jun was diligent in his cultivation, knowing that personal strength was the greatest protection in this chaotic world.

Everyone envied Qin Jun for his privileged birth, thinking he had a carefree life. But in reality, Qin Jun worked harder than most people, possibly harder than anyone.

And Xu Chao? He had nothing, yet he was fortunate enough to awaken a talent others dreamed of. But he wasted it, indulging in idleness. In another narrative,

Xu Chao might have experienced something that triggered his determination to train hard, eventually soaring to great heights. But now, he had encountered Qin Jun.

Qin Jun would not give Xu Chao a second chance. Xu Chao wanted to say something more, but Qin Jun shook his head. This Child of Destiny lacked the heart of a true strongman. Qin Jun expressionlessly extended a finger and crushed Xu Chao’s skull.

The second Child of Destiny died easily at Qin Jun’s hands. As Xu Chao died, the system’s notification sounded in Qin Jun’s ears.

“Ding, congratulations to the host for eliminating the Child of Destiny, Xu Chao. Reward: 30 villain points.”

“Mission rating: S. Additional reward: 5 villain points.”

“Ding, detecting that the host has obtained all potential gains. Additional reward: Elemental Affinity!” S~ᴇaʀᴄh the NʘvᴇlFire.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.
