Lover? What a joke!
Freika felt the abrupt cut-off of the communication was absurd.
How could the queen of the Succubus clan have a lover? At most, she might have a few playthings.
That man who sent the message must be lying.
Yet, she hesitated...
That man was so confident, claiming not only to be Licitris's lover but also that they could call upon him directly in times of danger...
Moreover, Freika realized too late that she had merely prayed to the queen. If Licitris was in another plane or layer of hell, she might not even be able to communicate with her.
But this man could effortlessly speak in her mind—what kind of power was that?
"Could it be that the queen has hooked a big fish and secured a divine-level man?"
"No wonder it's you, Licitris!"
As a fellow Succubus, Freika dared to directly address the Succubus Queen by her name.
Regardless, that man clearly promised to help them. Even if he hadn't completely won over the queen, he was still a strong ally.
Freika felt a wave of reassurance wash over her, alleviating some of her anxiety about not being able to contact the queen.
If Licitris could seek out men, she must be safe; perhaps she was just too far from the layer of hell to communicate.
Freika reassured herself, though her heart continued to race. The mere thought of the queen filled her with an inexplicable sadness and pain.
It felt almost like when a divine-level being falls...
No! It can't be! Her Majesty the Queen has always been cautious; how could she easily fall without even sending a message?
"Freika." Just as Freika was deep in thought, a young girl approached her. The girl didn't look much like a Succubus; her pure white form and silver hair gave her an almost ethereal appearance.
"The hidden supreme suppressed by the queen has escaped!"
"He's gone mad; seeing that the queen is absent, he's rallying forces to try and annihilate our clan."
"Those demons and Swallowing Heaven players are actually being swayed by him. If the queen doesn't return, what should we do?"
As the girl spoke, Freika's expression grew grim. Such occurrences were common in hell; when a divine-level demon ruling a layer of hell vanished, chaos ensued.
The demons and Swallowing Heaven players, as long as they could seize the benefits, were unafraid of divine retribution since they could scatter and hide in various layers of hell.
Even gods couldn't possibly chase down everyone; they might catch one or two unlucky souls.
"We'll hold our ground for now."
"The queen must have her reasons for being busy. If worst comes to worst..."
"We could seek help from that man we just spoke to..."
She made her decision.
...
Sterl closed the panel and stepped onto the rainbow ship. Out of caution, he didn't activate his demigod powers but instead rode a ship that was already set to return.
Next, he prepared to head back to the Hall of Valor, planning to allocate points and sort through the gains from his journey to hell.
The rainbow ship took an entire day to reach its destination.
Sterl thought for a moment and decided to invest a point into his Divination skill.
This talent had brought him several surprises, but it was still at a relatively low tier, and during predictions, the success rate was curiously lower than the failure rate.
After the cheat evolved once more, Sterl saw the specific information.
The fourth talent was quite special, requiring ten points to reach level 3.
Not only did he need to invest points in the talent itself, but Sterl also had to allocate additional points to his arcane skill, Star Soul Rotation, to accommodate a new talent.
"This time, the success rate has increased by 10%."
"Luckily, I didn't invest in this troublesome thing on the battlefield before."
Sterl complained as he looked up into the distance. Through the transparent cabin of the rainbow ship, he noticed... a spatial passage slowly opening.
Just like before, the Twilight Guild members were being blocked while trying to kill the boss.
Damn it!
Could these guilds come up with a different strategy?
Sterl mentally rolled his eyes, but his brain quickly processed some of the voices he heard.
"Isn't the Twilight Guild being a bit too domineering?"
"This boss is clearly ours! Just because half of it ran into your contribution farming range, why should it become your boss?"
"Do you have any idea how much we've suffered to take down this boss??"
...
The larger group of players trembled with rage, led by a female knight in golden armor whose elegant voice was slightly distorted with anger.
Behind her, the crowd was fuming, but no one dared to make a move.
Reputation matters; the Twilight Guild was infamous!
They had wiped out more than a dozen demigod guilds.
Who would dare provoke them??
That was a sure way to get your entire family killed!!
In the Hall of Valor, aside from the guilds formed by the gods, who would dare to challenge them?
Especially when it came to farming bosses for contributions.
The guilds founded by those powerful beings had decades or even centuries of history; they no longer needed to farm contributions. The guilds that could compete with the Twilight Guild were often newly established, and their strongest members were usually just newly promoted demigods, or even just perfected-level demigods.
How could they dare to confront Twilight head-on?
But...
Most of the good contribution farming areas had already been claimed by the Twilight Guild.
The players led by the female knight had finally managed to target a mutated special boss, suffering heavy casualties with several legends falling and one demigod sustaining injuries. The number of items used was incalculable.
They were on the verge of reaping significant contributions when that boss, in its dying throes, retaliated and charged into the contribution farming range of the Twilight Guild.

They were immediately blocked by the Twilight members!
They aimed to seize all the boss drops, showing no intention of offering even a token compensation.
In such a seemingly justified situation, the female knight still didn't dare to lose her temper; she could only continue to rally her numbers and argue her case.
Unfortunately...
"Reason? Does our Twilight Guild even need to discuss reason?"
"Do you know how many demigods our powerful members have slain? Destroying your guild would be a piece of cake. We just want our contributions; what's wrong with that?"
"If you have the capability, go fetch a god or at least a few Supremes to back you up, otherwise, get lost!"
"Don't think that just because the boss ran into our area, it belongs to us. And if you don't want to offer compensation, you think you can just leave??"
"Exactly! Our Twilight Guild is destined to rise. Everyone is farming for contributions, and if the guild leader returns and finds the contributions are insufficient for upgrades, you'll all be dead!"
...
The Twilight members were extremely arrogant.
They weren't joking; many of them were already gathering their power.
They intended to strike first.
They wanted the boss, and those members of other guilds who had intruded into their territory had better be prepared to pay for their lives.
This was an outdoor area, and there was no protection from the Hall of Valor.
Sterl was left speechless.
"Something about this plot development seems off?"
Sterl muttered.
