Chapter 271 Shopping, Again!

—-----------------
Following the completion of his third mission, elevating his total net worth to almost Seventeen Million Favor, Dale decided to do one last mission before entering the shop once again.
He also interacted with his Stream for the first time, surprising all of the viewers who had gotten used to his pretty much 3rd person take on it.
He made several things clear while also setting a time for when he would start doing other forms of content such as Duels and Solo runs, something they were very eager to see.
Dale did have plans to eventually do his own things, and so did Ermin and the sisters.
They were just playing together for now, it has barely been fifty minutes since the Event started after all.
A few hours together wouldn't hurt.
Meanwhile, as discussed before, Ermin and the Sisters stopped by the shop to spend what they had accumulated so far, which albeit wasn't comparable to Dale's current overwhelming amount, it was still well over a Million.
In comparison, that placed them amidst the top 1000 players worldwide.
It may not sound impressive, or maybe it is, just not on what most would expect... After all, how could the tree of them compare to the hidden top players all around the globe?
The thing is, the siblings weren't members of any Super Guild, they didn't train or dedicated their entire lives for this, they didn't possess any powerful item nor did they complete any secret/hidden Quest, with the closest to that being Ermin with his Hidden Class.
They were just above average players that logged in everyday and did their own things, and aside from Ermin who had a lot of time on his hands to play, the sisters still had their real life's schedules.
One had to go to work and prepare to eventually live alone while the other had to study as she was still in High School.
It was safe to say this wasn't comparable to someone that treated gaming itself as their lifeline and trained for it every single day.
So the fact they had accumulated so much given their 'low' ability when compared to the best of the best out there by just following Dale was already out of this world.
And this was only through Achievements and Bonuses since they rarely ever participated in the mission.
Nonetheless, they wanted to participate more in the Quests or at the very least, not struggle as much with the crumbs of Dale's actions.
That was why a tactical stop to the shop was necessary so they could acquire Skills and Items, amidst other things to make themselves stronger.
Dale was also tempted to go, even if just to acquire a new sword to substitute for his old one, maybe even ask if the shop can repair it for a fee... But he eventually decided to stick with his previous goal and accumulate 20 Million.
For what reason? Nothing special, he only felt it would be for the best to stick with his previous plans, not like things would change much anyway, it was just one more mission.
He pondered over using his repair hammers on the blade, but that quickly went down the drain when he remembered his priorities, so instead, he changed his blade for another weapon, albeit it didn't match as well as the one before.nove(lb-In
The Glyph Blade, his very first weapon!...
He did wonder about its durability, but as long as it lasted, it didn't matter how many Stats it gave him nor the Skills it had.
It just had to be consistent for one singular mission... And it was, more then he expected even, albeit it also broke after a while, retuning to its previous shattered state.
Dale did have better weapons to use, but he didn't want to show them yet as he had other plans for them.
Once he decided on what he was going to use, he waited for his companions to return, and soon enough, they went on another mission, this time, it would be simpler then the one before it.
[Guild Contract: Mining Operation (Lir-Atol)
Category: Resource Gathering
Rating: 6-Star
Specifications: Maximum of 4 players; Level Limit of 70; Inventory Function is disabled during the Mission
Base reward: 500000 Favor (Total); 1 Loot Box (Material); 1 Loot Box (Equipment); 1 Cosmetic Item Box(Mines)
]
A different mission from what they did before, to gather materials, maybe that would give Ermin and the Siblings an opportunity for them to shine...
Or would it?
There was only one way to find out...
...
/Around a few minutes later.../
/Flash!/
"Phew... Alright, time to spend." Dale said out loud as he entered the shop
He stopped momentarily to stretch his body as he took off his armor, in here, he was more comfortable to reveal his identity.
His turned off his Stream so that wasn't a problem either. He wanted to focus solely on buying his items.
'That was a tough mission, not in the sense of the creatures within, but due to its scope.'
'Going through dark tunnels in search of Ore while fighting strange creatures and dragging around a bag of Loot with me wasn't easy, though Ermin was there to help on that front.'
'Maybe that was why my contribution rate wasn't as high as before, going beneath 90% for the first time.'
'With that mission gone, I'm now sitting at a comfortable 20 Million + Favor, about halfway to 21. I have everything I need.'
'That mission also gave me a new Greater Instance Modifier.'
[Greater Instance Modifier (Size)]
As its name said, it was a Modifier that increased the size of things within a given task, though its specific effects would have to be researched further.
'Speaking of that, I still have something to do...'
[Loot Box (Material)]
[Loot Box (Equipment]
'I have two Loot Boxes from the previous Quests plus the Equipment Loot Box from the task I just finished... Not counting the Cosmetic one.'
'They're a bit vague... Well, they shouldn't be that bad given they were the main rewards for such difficult missions.'
'In any case, I don't have all day... Open!'
/Poof!/
With the press of a button, four boxes appeared in front of him, they all looked rather interested but their key characteristic was a small dent in their top section where a small glass dome could be seen embedded into it.
The dome contained a fist sized 100 faced dice, its purpose was obvious...
"So that's how it's going to be... Fine."
'Do I just press on the dice or do I have to...'
Dale crouched near the boxes, ready to open them.
/Shine.../
The moment he touched the box, the dice inside started to spin as the glass shone in white light.
/Clack!... Stop.../
The dice spun fiercely around the glass dome, but it eventually came to a full stop, revealing a number.
[50][1]
"..."
'I'm unsure if this is a good way to start or not... Does this mean I'm either lucky or unlucky?'
Sighing, he opened the chest...
[Ding]
[You've gained, Dragon Scales (Red) x25
You've gained, Dragon Bones (Medium) x10
You've gained, Dragon Horns x2
You've gained, Dragon Blood (500ML) x6
]
"... Great."
'Just a bunch of average materials... Well, it was exactly what the box said I'd get.'
'Fine then, maybe I can give a use to them back at Resko, they came from a Red Dragon after all. And even if they don't end up as usable materials, maybe they can serve as Quest progression for Barme's Quest.'
"Next."
/Shine.../
/Clack!... Stop.../
[67]
"Okay! We're moving up in the world!" Dale said with some excitement as he opened the chest
It was another material chest, but maybe things would be better this time?
[You've gained, 60 Kg Hard Iron Ore (Impure)
You've gained, 10 Kg Lir-Atol Alloy (Impure)
You've gained, 6 Kg Crystalized Blue Amber (Medium Quality)
]
Dale didn't seem impressed by the rewards.
'Metals huh, and amber as well?... Well, there were many crystals within the caverns, were they also loot worth collecting?'
'Hum... This is the curse of the ignorant, to walk right pass treasures and not be able to properly distinguish their values, or worse, ruin them.'
'In any case, its not like I can collect anything from the tasks so its just a lesson for another time.'
'The metals I'll send to Barme, he should be happy for a few days at the very least, while the Amber... Should I give it to Yumi together with the Dragon Blood? But it doesn't seem like an alchemical material...'
'I'll think about it later.'
In doubt, Dale decided to think about it later, so he just pressed on.
"The last Box... Meaningful Box..." He said out loud as he took it out from his inventory
"Hum?"
The box's appearance surprised Dale a little as it looked fancier then the other two.
Not to say that this time, the box had two dices within its glass dome!
"Does this meant I have two chances or that I can draw two treasures?..."
'Only one way to find out!' He thought as he touched the box
/Shine.../
/Clack!... Stop.../
[38-39]
"..."
"You gotta be fucking with me." Dale said out loud as his expression darkened
(...)[2]
'Most of the rewards for these missions was within these damn boxes and this is the luck I get?!'
'At this rate I'll have to give up on any Quest with these kinds of gambling based rewards if I wish to get anything substantial.'
Seething in anger, Dale opened the box, revealing its contents:
[Hard Iron Pickaxe (Unique)]
"..."
'I knew that was a mining mission but that doesn't mean you should reward me with a damn Pickaxe!'
His expression getting sharper by the second, Dale eventually grabbed the Pickaxe, shoving it inside his inventory.
Since his previous weapons broke, he expected to get a new one with this box, but unfortunately, his dreams were shattered.
Once again, gambling proves detrimental, there was no point in playing a rigged game.
"Urg... Alright, there's no point in crying over this."
'I'll just treat these as extra rewards, nothing else... As for the last box, I'll open it with the others... Maybe I should've done so from the start.'
"Now that everything's done... It's time to finish what I started before." He said as he shook his head
'To pay for the items I bought before and hopefully buy new ones.'
'It would be better if the deal was still up and I could still buy items for a fraction of their value... But even if not, it won't matter much since I should be able to make tens of Millions throughout this event.'
'There's nothing in the shop I can't buy. Unless they have something hidden...'
With a sharp gaze and a thinking mind, Dale approached the counter once more.
There, he found the very same man from before, smiling warmly at him.
But the feeling wasn't the same.
"Welcome." The clerk said in a smooth and gently tone, albeit devoid of emotions

Notes
[1] Not kidding, this was actually the value for the dice I rolled, every single roll from now on was done by my dice one after the other XD
[2] My bad, I really rolled 38-39 LOL
