40 Third Round of the Exam
In the third round, there was a waiting hall and many examination halls.
Chen Qiyue and many other examinees were sitting in the waiting hall.
The waiting hall was huge. It was hundreds of square meters, comparable to a stage theater.
There were more than 600 examinees participating in this test, and all of them were sitting here.
Some examinees were very anxious, some were very confident, and some were exchanging their insights.
In front of this waiting hall, there was a big screen. On it, the next examinee’s number and the corresponding examination hall would be announced. Then, this examinee would walk out of the waiting hall and go to the examination hall.
At one time, 40 candidates would be announced. Every 10 candidates would be in a group and would go to the same examination hall.
Chen Qiyue took a deep breath and found a random seat to sit down on. He was thinking about the fourth round that Jiang Shui had told him about earlier.
Would he really take that test in the fourth round like Jiang Shui said?
If that’s true, then Jiang Shui’s background seemed to be very powerful?
Would he be able to cozy up to him?
What if that Poker Association’s Seven of Diamonds came looking for trouble with him? With Jiang Shui around, the chances of him being rescued would be higher?
Just as Chen Qiyue was letting his imagination run wild, the announcer called his number.
Chen Qiyue stood up and walked towards Examination Hall No. 1.
“Is that him?” someone in the dark corner asked indifferently.
“Yes, it’s him. His Giant Ugly Fish was cultivated very well. He actually obtained full marks from a judge.” The one who spoke was an examinee.
If Chen Qiyue was here, he would definitely be able to recognize this examinee, who was in the same examination hall as him in the previous exam.
“Oh? That’s interesting. I’ll contact him. This time, you’ve completed a D-rank mission. Go and collect the reward from the organization.”
The voice of the person hiding in the darkness was faint and emotionless.
That examinee was instantly overjoyed. “Thank you, my lord!”
With that, he bowed respectfully and left.
It was not appropriate for them to talk in this place for too long.
Chen Qiyue walked into the examination hall and realized that it was completely different from before.
This examination hall was about the size of a classroom and had ten tables.
There were all kinds of tools on the tables. Knives, chopping boards, crushers, electronic weighings, and so on.
On one side of the podium were various tree fruits and medicinal herbs.
The rules of the exam were written on the blackboard behind the podium.
“In half an hour, make a nutritious meal of the corresponding Fantastic Beast. The points will be evaluated according to the effect of the nutritious meal.”
On the podium, there was a white machine. In front of the machine was a small platform with a bowl on it. Clearly, it was used to hold nutritious meals.
On the top of the machine, there was a small screen.
The assistant examiner stood at the side and would record the score on the screen.
Chen Qiyue and the others quickly chose their seats and began to make nutritious meals.
So far, Chen Qiyue only knew how to make nutritious meals for the Giant Ugly Fish.
Although he did not know the effect of his nutritious meal, he was confident based on the feeling transmitted to him by the Giant Ugly Fish.
However, since he had already made it, he would make it according to the taste of the Giant Ugly Fish.
He wondered if he could let the Giant Ugly Fish eat it after making the nutritious meal.
Now that the exam had been going on for so long, the Giant Ugly Fish should be hungry.
With that thought in mind, Chen Qiyue did not stop what he was doing.
He quickly peeled the tree fruit, cut it into small pieces, and began to make the sauce.
Yes, in fact, the sauce that Chen Qiyue made for the Giant Ugly Fish was also made by himself. It was made with medicinal herbs and fruit jam.
During the process, Chen Qiyue also observed the situation of the surrounding candidates.
Some of the examinees were flustered, while others mixed some tree fruits together and squeezed them into juice with a juicer.
There were also some examinees whose hands were very steady. They stirred the nutritious meal into a paste or made it into mud.
This was a common method used by junior feeders to make nutritious meals. Chen Qiyue had seen it in the nutritional meal manual.
This was because a nutritious meal in the shape of mud and paste could be easily absorbed.
However, Chen Qiyue had done it before, but the Giant Ugly Fish told him that the energy inside had decreased a lot.
Perhaps because it had been stirred or squeezed, some of the ingredients in the tree fruit had been destroyed.
Later on, Chen Qiyue still maintained the original cut.
However, he had obsessive-compulsive disorder. He had to cut it into square pieces and arrange them beautifully.
Coupled with the sauce, it was perfect!
However, because of Chen Qiyue’s unnecessary actions, his speed was much slower.
Many candidates had already taken their nutritious meals to the machine.
They were now verifying their identities with the assistant examiner. Then, the assistant examiner would take down the bowls on the platform and let them place their plates on them.
That bowl was actually not used to hold nutritious meals, but to clear the scores.
...
The plates used by the examinees were all specially made. They could be connected to machines to make accurate evaluations.
“54 points!”
“37 points!”
“63 points!”
…
The candidates did their evaluations one by one, but their scores were not very good.
The examinee with the highest score was only 63 points.
However, this examinee did not look disappointed. Instead, he clenched his fists excitedly.
Reaching a score of more than 60 actually meant that this nutritional meal had reached the minimum standard for sale.
After this examinee’s results were announced, he believed that it would be much easier to apply for an intern position in many Feeding Houses with this result.
There were only five minutes left of the 30 minutes. Chen Qiyue was about to pour the sauce.
...
Many examinees had finished their tests and their gazes naturally landed on Chen Qiyue.
Seeing how careful he was, a hint of mockery could not help but appear in his eyes.
“Is this person stupid? He’s making the food good-looking in this exam? It’s not like he’s going to eat at a Fantastic Beast restaurant.”
“Hahaha, the ratings don’t care about the appearance now.”
Of course, there were also some who were more rational. For example, the only examinee who scored more than 60 points.
He touched his chin and said in a deep voice.
“I’ve seen it before. Some of the chefs of Fantastic Beast restaurants do have such a habit.”
“It’s said that such a habit can make them respect the ingredients more.”
His voice wasn’t loud, but it wasn’t soft either. Many examinees heard him.
Some examinees shrugged and didn’t say anything.
Some of the examinees also thought that Chen Qiyue’s score would not be too good.
After all, although Chen Qiyue was arranging the food, he had spent a lot of time.
It wasn’t like the more time spent on a nutritious meal, the better it would be.
After pouring the sauce, the nutritious meal was completed.
Chen Qiyue confidently picked up the plate. After confirming his identity with the assistant examiner, he placed the plate on the platform where the bowl had just been taken away.
The numbers on the screen started to jump and then stopped at a number.
