Yue Gu Zui read reports in the study room.
‘Boss looks like he’s in a good mood,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Cheng Yi looked at Yue Gu Zui and he couldn’t tell what mood Yue Gu Zui was in. He wanted to learn from Bai Yu Tian about how to read their boss’ moods. Because the fox Bai Yu Tian knew when to use him as a bullet vest whenever their boss was in a bad mood.
Cheng Yi noticed a devious gleam in the fox Bai Yu Tian’s eyes.
‘I don’t know if boss’ good mood will stay after he hears the bad news,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Cheng Yi instinctively moved away from Yue Gu Zui. If Cheng Yi planned to use him as a bullet vest, he feared their boss wouldn’t let him leave with an intact corpse.
Huyen Di reported how his group dealt with Mr Tao’s gang and he wisely sat on the sofa away from Yue Gu Zui.
‘Boss, Louis is injured,’ Huyen Di said.
Yue Gu Zui’s good mood disappeared and his face turned cold. Who would be able to injure Louis?
‘Was it Shu Tang Jue, Tan Lang’s gang?’ Yue Gu Zui asked.
‘Ah!’ Zhen Zhen cried out.
Zhen Zhen felt a cold wind passed her neck. It was Yue Gu Zui’s knife that was thrown past Zhen Zhen’s nose, deflected Huyen Di’s knife and landed on the floor.
Zhen Zhen wondered if she explained she was only passing by and she wasn’t eavesdropping on them if they would believe her. She was too scared to move.
‘Next time be gentler toward my woman,’ Yue Gu Zui said and glared at Huyen Di.
‘Come here,’ Yue Gu Zui said.
Zhen Zhen understood she couldn’t ignore Yue Gu Zui’s order. But she thought about how she ate him last night and she blushed.
Bai Yu Tian stood back to let Zhen Zhen walk toward Yue Gu Zui. She thought Bai Yu Tian was a gentleman until he opened his mouth.
‘Miss Zhen, why is your face red?’ Bai Yu Tian asked. ‘And why are you wearing thick clothes on a hot day?’
Zhen Zhen spent a lot of energy to search for a high collar thick top to hide the kiss marks on her neck. She wasn’t impressed by Bai Yu Tian’s hateful smile.
Zhen Zhen walked past the hateful Bai Yu Tian and Yue Gu Zui shamelessly pulled her onto his lap. She tried to stand but Yue Gu Zui wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered in her ear. ‘Don’t move. I love it when you take the initiative but now isn’t the time.’
‘About last night… I didn’t do it on purpose…’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Are you saying you refuse to take responsibility?’ Yue Gu Zui asked.
Zhen Zhen wanted to ask what responsibility. Wasn’t it the man who was supposed to take responsibility?
Zhen Zhen laughed awkwardly. ‘Let’s talk about world news.’
Yue Gu Zui laughed at Zhen Zhen’s obvious awkwardness.
Cheng Yi spat his tea onto Huyen Di.
‘You’re filthy,’ Huyen Di said to Cheng Yi.
Yue Gu Zui thought it was hilarious Zhen Zhen wanted him to talk about world news instead of selling and buying weapons. It was like asking him to survive on eating air.
Zhen Zhen felt like she said the wrong thing and she quickly changed the topic of conversation. ‘Where’s Zhen Wu?’
‘Dad took our son to the park,’ Yue Gu Zui said.
‘Um,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen ran out of questions to ask Yue Gu Zui and the room was silent for a while.
‘Zhen Zhen go pack your luggage,’ Yue Gu Zui said.
‘Why?’ Zhen Zhen asked. ‘Where am I going?’ Her eyes lit up. ‘Can I go home?’
‘Italy,’ Yue Gu Zui said.
Zhen Zhen’s eyes lost its shine, she pouted her lips and softly cursed Yue Gu Zui on the way toward their bedroom. ‘Toxic boss.’
Cheng Yi heard Zhen Zhen’s soft curse and he spat more tea onto Huyen Di. Huyen Di slid along the sofa to avoid Cheng Yi’s unhygienic saliva.
Bai Yu Tian smiled. He pitied Zhen Zhen and deflected attention off her.
‘Boss, I heard Da Tu Li was in Italy,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Cheng Yi thought the fox Bai Yu Tian knew how to push Yue Gu Zui’s buttons.
‘Huyen Di tell Chu Gian to immediately go to Italy to see me,’ Yue Gu Zui said coldly.
Yue Gu Zui walked past Bai Yu Tian to see if Zhen Zhen finished packing.
Cheng Yi picked up his tea cup and he looked daggers at the fox Bai Yu Tian. He drank his tea, rubbed Bai Yu Tian’s pitiful head and gave him his empty tea cup.
‘Yu Tian, you need to go to Italy too,’ Huyen Di said.
