In the evening at the main house.
Yue Gu Zai was awoken by a heavy pressure that was tossing and turning on top of him.
Yue Gu Zai and Zhen Zhen opened their eyes at the same time. Her frown changed to a smile after she saw his face.
‘Did you have a nightmare?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
Yue Gu Zai helped Zhen Zhen find a more comfortable position to lay on his chest.
‘I dreamt Gu Zai was angry at me and left me,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘Gu Zai, don’t be angry. I promise I won’t play all the time.’
‘Ok, I won’t be angry,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
Yue Gu Zai remembered he didn’t think about risks when he saved Zhen Zhen. He couldn’t believe he loved seeing Zhen Zhen smile more each day.
‘I need to grow up faster,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘I want to marry Gu Zai.’
Yue Gu Zai was happy to hear Zhen Zhen wanted to marry him. ‘Why do you want to marry me?’
‘Because I love Gu Zai,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘The Bai fox said sooner or later Gu Zai will get married. After Gu Zai is married, Gu Zai won’t love me anymore. I want Gu Zai to love me forever so I want to be Gu Zai’s wife.’
Yue Gu Zai smiled. ‘If you want to marry me, you don’t need to wait. You can marry me now.’
‘Really?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘Of course,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
Yue Gu Zai raised Zhen Zhen’s chin and he looked into her eyes.
‘Promise you won’t regret it?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
Yue Gu Zai knew he wanted to lie to himself that Zhen Zhen would make an informed decision.
Zhen Zhen didn’t know what Yue Gu Zai’s words meant but she nodded her head.
‘I promise,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Yue Gu Zai didn’t care about his unhealed wound. He stood, held Zhen Zhen’s hand and they left their room together.
Bai Yu Tian was guarding outside the room. ‘Boss, where do you want to go?’
‘To register a marriage,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
‘Boss, you shouldn’t go outside,’ Bai Yu Tian said. ‘Your wound will take longer to heal. You don’t need to leave the house to register a marriage.’
‘Ok, I’ll give you an hour to prepare the wedding ceremony,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
‘Yes boss,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
An hour later a frightened registered celebrant arrived at the main house.
‘I need the bride and groom to provide proof of their identities and the completed marriage registration form-’ the celebrant said.
‘How is boss supposed to give you everything you requested now?’ Huyen Di asked. ‘You only need to perform the ceremony and witness boss and Miss Zhen Zhen sign the marriage registration form.’
The celebrant didn’t dare open his mouth. It was them who asked him to perform a proper wedding ceremony. He wisely pulled out a blank authorised marriage registration form.
‘If the bride and groom are willing to register their marriage then sign at the bottom of this form,’ the celebrant said.
Yue Gu Zai quickly signed the form while Zhen Zhen pointed at the form.
‘Do I only need to sign?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
The celebrant thought Zhen Zhen was tricked into marrying Yue Gu Zai. But Huyen Di gave him a warning look and he didn’t dare voice his concerns.
Bai Yu Tian opened a box of a pair of wedding rings. The celebrant was envious of the wedding rings. Even though the ring designs were simple, but they were expensive rings and it was his girlfriend’s favorite design. He would buy the same rings when he married his girlfriend if he could afford the rings.
Yue Gu Zai put the ring on Zhen Zhen’s ring finger.
‘Why do I need to wear this ring?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘You’re not allowed to take it off.’ Yue Gu Zai said.
‘Oh, if we wear matching rings, does it mean Gu Zai is my man?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Zhen Zhen mimicked Yue Gu Zai’s actions, she put the other ring on his finger.
Yue Gu Zai kissed the top of Zhen Zhen’s head.
‘That’s right, I’m your man,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
Zhen Zhen was satisfied with Yue Gu Zai’s answer and she smiled.
The celebrant was certain either the child bride had low IQ or she was tricked into marrying Yue Gu Zai.
After the celebrant officiated the wedding ceremony, Bai Yu Tian presented the celebrant a box of a wedding cup cake.
‘You’ve worked hard and earned this,’ Bai Yu Tian joked.
‘It’s ok, no need for gifts,’ the celebrant said.
The celebrant didn’t dare to eat anything given by anyone related to the groom.
‘You don’t need to be courteous, take it,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
‘It’s ok, I don’t need any gifts,’ the celebrant said.
Bai Yu Tian thought the celebrant’s refusal was rude.
‘Our boss always follow protocols,’ Bai Yu Tian said. ‘He asked me to prepare the wedding ceremony. I brought you here to perform the wedding ceremony, bought rings and prepared wedding cupcakes for wedding guests. Everyone here hates eating sweets, but they are eating the cupcakes to celebrate boss’ wedding day. You refusing to eat the cupcake will ruin boss’ good mood.’
The celebrant didn’t want to offend the groom who looked like he was a mafia boss so he quickly accepted the box.
‘Of course I want to eat,’ the celebrant lied. ‘I wish eternal happiness for the newlyweds.’
‘Thank you for wishing boss a happy marriage,’ Bai Yu Tian said. ‘Let me ask a driver to drive you home.’
‘It’s ok, everyone here is busy,’ the celebrant said. ‘I don’t’ want to inconvenience anyone. I’ll make my own way home.’
The celebrant didn’t dare have a mafia mobster drive him home.
‘If you’re adamant then I won’t insist,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Outside the main house, the celebrant regretted his decision. Earlier he was too frightened to notice the route to the main house. He finally noticed the remote location of the main house. It was above a high mountain and there were no cars on the private road. It would take him a few hours to walk to the foot of the mountain. He turned around to ask for a driver, but the front gates were closed and he didn’t dare to press the intercom. He had no choice left but to slowly walk down the mountain.
Inside the main house, Chu Gian pitied the celebrant walking down the mountain.
‘Did he offend you?’ Chu Gian asked Bai Yu Tian.
‘It’s his fault,’ Bai Yu Tian said. ‘He delayed performing the wedding ceremony for thirty-seconds. I almost failed to prepare the wedding ceremony within the hour boss requested. Honestly I didn’t do anything to him. Didn’t you hear he wanted to find his own way home?’
Chu Gian laughed and Bai Yu Tian looked sincerely at her.
‘Marriage looks like an ideal dream,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Chu Gian did love Bai Yu Tian, but she didn’t want to marry and have children at a young age.
‘I never thought about marrying and having children this soon,’ Chu Gian said.
‘It’s ok, I don’t mind marrying into your family,’ Bai Yu Tian said.
Chu Gian stayed silent. She looked at the calm Bai Yu Tian. She knew he was a prideful man so she didn’t understand why he was willing to let go of his pride to marry her and change his family name.
