Not your girl.
Zhen Zhen visited Yan Fen’s guest room again after Tan Cuo and Tan Hai left Yue Gu Zai’s home.
‘Big brother Yan Fen, you look healthy,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Yue Gu Zai saw Zhen Zhen visit Yan Fen’s guest room, and he quickly walked into the guest room.
‘Boss,’ Yan Fen said.
‘How are you feeling?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
Yan Fen understood Yue Gu Zai’s undertone. Yue Gu Zai wanted him to leave if he was healthy again.
‘Good,’ Yan Fen said.
‘Um,’ Yue Gu Zai said. He turned to look at Zhen Zhen. ‘Zhen Zhen, go pack our belongings. We’re flying home tomorrow.’
Zhen Zhen’s eyes lit up. She missed Zhen Wu, but she was worried about Yan Fen.
‘Don’t worry about me,’ Yan Fen said. ‘My injury is healed.’
‘Alright,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘I’ll go pack.’
Zhen Zhen left, and Yan Fen wondered why Yue Gu Zai stayed behind.
‘Boss, is there something else?’ Yan Fen asked.
‘I don’t like other people coveting what belongs to me,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘Even if they secretly covert in their hearts, I still won’t tolerate it.’
Yan Fen’s body tensed.
‘Boss, I understand,’ Yan Fen said.
‘It’s good you understand,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘Get plenty of rest.’
Yan Fen understood he couldn’t compete with a man like Yue Gu Zai. If Zhen Zhen loved him, he would willingly risk his life to be with Zhen Zhen. But he knew by the way Zhen Zhen looked at Yue Gu Zai whenever she was in the same room as Yue Gu Zai that she loved Yue Gu Zai. He didn’t have a chance to be with her.
Two days later, Yue Gu Zai and Zhen Zhen flew home from Las Vegas. She was happy to become friends with William Hill and Yan Fen. But she loved being home best.
Mr Zhen heard Zhen Zhen arrived home safely, and he called her on the phone.
‘Zhen Zhen, I want you to bring Gu Zai here for dinner,’ Mr Zhen said.
‘Yes dad,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen hung up, and she looked at Yue Gu Zai confusedly.
‘Did your dad invite me to eat dinner?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
‘Yes,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘OK,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘I’ll take you to eat dinner at your parents’ home, and we’ll bring our son home afterward.’
Later at Mr and Mrs Zhen’s front door, Zhen Zhen changed her mind. She was worried Mr Zhen would fight with Yue Gu Zai again.
‘Gu Zai, let’s eat dinner at my parents’ house another day,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Zhen Zhen, it’s alright,’ Yue Gu Zai. ‘You don’t need to protect me from your dad.’
Zhen Wu opened the door. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. He looked like a mini Yue Gu Zai.
Zhen Zhen hugged Zhen Wu and kissed his face. She missed Zhen Wu a lot.
‘Zhen Wu, mummy missed you,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Of course you would miss your son,’ Zhen Wu said.
Although Zhen Zhen was Zhen Wu’s mum, Zhen Wu understood Yue Gu Zai didn’t want to share Zhen Zhen even with his son.
‘Mum, your saliva,’ Zhen Wu said.
Yue Gu Zai and Zhen Wu exchanged secret looks at each other.
Yue Gu Zai: Done?
Zhen Wu: Of course. Your son is a genius.
‘What are the three of you doing standing at the door?’ Mr Zhen said. ‘Hurry and come eat.’
At the dining table, Mr Zhen crossed his arms and he looked sternly at Yue Gu Zai.
‘Gu Zai, even if you’re not fighting for custody of Zhen Wu and you agreed not to change Zhen Wu’s family name,’ Mr Zhen said. ‘Don’t think I’ll let you marry Zhen Zhen that easily.’
‘Gu Zai, ignore this old man and eat comfortably,’ Mrs Zhen said.
Zhen Wu ate dinner quickly so he could talk to Yue Gu Zai in private.
‘Dad, I kept my promise,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘I helped you and grandpa call a truce. You have to keep your promise too.’
‘Of course your dad will keep his promise to you,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
Zhen Wu sighed, and he patted Yue Gu Zai’s pitiful back.
‘Dad, don’t count your chickens before they hatch,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘Talk to mum first.’
Yue Gu Zai smiled at the why Zhen Wu acted mature like an adult in a child’s body.
Yue Gu Zai drove Zhen Zhen and Zhen Wu home from Mr and Mrs Zhen’s home. He thought Zhen Wu was overthinking things, because Zhen Zhen was in a good mood.
‘Is our son starting a new school term?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
‘Yes,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen sat in front of the vanity table. She was humming a happy tune while she blow dried her hair.
‘Zhen Zhen, our son is a genius,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘He doesn’t need to go to school.’
Yue Gu Zai was sitting on the bed and holding a book. But he was couldn’t read a single word because he was worried about Zhen Zhen’s reaction.
‘Even if our son is a genius, he still needs to go to school,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Yue Gu Zai’s heart was beating fast after Zhen Zhen turned off the hair dryer, and looked sternly at him.
‘Zhen Zhen, we can invite the best teachers to home school our son,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘I’m worried his potential would be wasted at school.’
‘No!’ Zhen Zhen said and crossed her arms.
‘Zhen Zhen, give me a reason why,’ Yue Gu Zai said.
‘No reason at all,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘Our son going to school is not up for negotiation. Gu Zai, if our son emotionally blackmailed you to talk me out of making him go to school then I’m sorry to disappoint you, he’s going to school and that is final.’
‘Zhen Zhen, even if you don’t want to compromise about our son going to school,’ Yue Gu Zai said. ‘I want to know why.’
‘Then you can see me as an unreasonable woman,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘I’m sleeping in the guest room tonight.’
Zhen Zhen walked to the guest room before Yue Gu Zai could stop her.
Yue Gu Zai knew Zhen Zhen was easy going unless someone provoked her. He watched her leave their bedroom, and he felt like he lost too much from his deal with Zhen Wu.
Two days later, Yue Gu Zai regretted making the deal with Zhen Wu, because Zhen Zhen gave him the silent treatment for two days.
Zhen Wu pitied Yue Gu Zai, and he consoled Yue Gu Zai in the study room.
‘Dad, I heard if someone is a member of Ni Sheng and go back on their word, they’ll become shark bait,’ Zhen Wu said.
Yue Gu Zai wanted to kill the traitor who told Zhen Wu about Ni Sheng’s shark bait rule.
‘Dad, cheer up,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘Mum gave me the silent treatment too when I asked her if I could stop going to school.’
‘How long did your mum ignore you for?’ Yue Gu Zai asked.
‘One month,’ Zhen Wu said.
Yue Gu Zai couldn’t survive one month without sleeping with Zhen Zhen.
Cheng Yi overheard Yue Gu Zai and Zhen Wu’s conversation. He suspected Zhen Wu hid something important from Yue Gu Zai. He waited for Zhen Wu to come outside.
‘Young master, did it really take your mum only one month to talk to you again?’ Cheng Yi asked.
‘Of course not,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘I surrendered after one month. I begged mum to forgive me, and I promised her I wouldn’t ask to stop going to school again.’
‘Young master, why didn’t you tell boss?’ Cheng Yi asked.
‘Dad didn’t ask me,’ Zhen Wu said.
