C9 – Friendly Attitude

Boss Yan met his end with a single slap from Pei Yu.

Moments before, he had been issuing threats, but now he lay lifeless.

Onlookers gasped, staring at Pei Yu in shock.

“Anyone else care to challenge me?” Pei Yu swept his gaze across the room and asked coolly.

The bodyguards dropped to their knees, pleading for mercy, while everyone else fell silent.

With no response, Pei Yu clasped his hands behind him and strolled out.

Pei Yu wasn’t one to be intimidated. But if anyone dared to hurt his sister, Pei Yuner, he would ensure they lived to regret it. No matter who it was, Pei Yu would not hesitate to exact vengeance.

Pei Yuner was his Achilles’ heel—untouchable.

“Pei Yu.”

As Pei Yu made his exit, Goldy hurried after him.

“Still thinking of inviting me to compete?”

“It’s too late for that. Catching a cab home would be a hassle. Take my car instead.”

“Thanks.”

Pei Yuner’s smile was childlike, yet her heart was heavy with sorrow. She was well aware of Lin Xiu’s financial situation.

The cost of her treatment had already put a tremendous strain on Pei Yu. Knowing that he was bringing her treats despite his own hardships made her feel deeply troubled.

“Take good care of yourself. I’ve got to handle some things, so I need to head out now.”

“Alright, see you later.”

Once Lin Xiu had left, Pei Yuner’s tears could no longer be contained. Her large eyes brimmed with sorrow.

“Brother, I’m so sorry. It’s my fault you’re in this predicament.”

She was consumed with guilt, feeling indebted to Pei Yu.

Unbeknownst to Pei Yuner, Pei Yu wasn’t in financial distress. In fact, he had just transferred five hundred thousand yuan to Ke Lianxi the day before, settling his debts with the Ke family once and for all.

Shortly thereafter, Pei Yu arrived at the Martial Arts University’s training room where he was an instructor.

It was here that he had previously been knocked unconscious by a brick thrown by one of his students.

Returning to the scene, Pei Yu couldn’t help but feel a twinge of embarrassment.

Today, however, he was here for a different reason—to gauge his combat prowess.

“I refined the bones in my upper limbs last night. My base combat value should have seen an improvement, but I’m not sure where I stand now.”

Since it was lunchtime, the training room was unusually quiet. In the expansive space, Pei Yu was the sole figure practicing.

Approaching the combat strength tester, Pei Yu clenched his fist and delivered a powerful blow.
