Pei Yu, a VIP guest of the Head Master?

How could that be?

One man was towering and imposing, the other youthful and unremarkable. With an age gap of twenty to thirty years between them, could they possibly be friends?

“Apologize to Mr. Pei at once. Are you dismissing me?” Qian Wenwei demanded, pointing at Ji Tong, barely restraining himself from giving him a thrashing right then and there.

Despite his swirling doubts and thoughts, Ji Tong had no choice but to concede. Shaking, he addressed Pei Yu, “I’m sorry, my actions were rash.”

“Mr. Pei, please accept my apologies,” Qian Wenwei offered earnestly.

Pei Yu, who had remained quiet with his hands clasped behind his back, let out a sigh after hearing both Qian Wenwei and Baldy Ji’s apologies. “I was beginning to think you actually had the courage to challenge me.”

“Your sincerity has earned my respect; I’ll let it slide this time.”

“Much appreciated.” Qian Wenwei bowed with a grateful smile.

Onlookers watched Pei Yu stride alongside Qian Wenwei, both of them engaged in lively conversation. They also witnessed the power players of N City, who could send tremors through the city with a mere foot stomp, bending over backwards to please the young man. For many, the day’s events were more thrilling than anything they’d ever experienced.

“He’s an absolute genius!”

That was the silent consensus among the crowd.

They were aware that anyone who caught the attention of the Super Martial Club’s Head Master and received a personal invitation was no ordinary individual.

The crowd eventually thinned out. The attending physician who had spoken with Pei Yu earlier had now slumped into a chair, overwhelmed with shock and bewilderment.

It was as if he had lived through a catastrophe he’d never forget.

Just ten minutes prior, he had dismissed Pei Yu, barely acknowledging his questions. He had been dismissive and detached.

But now, after the day’s events, he was utterly undone.

Even the Head Master of the Super Martial Club was friends with Pei Yu, and his demeanor was one of deep respect. Clearly, Pei Yu was a force to be reckoned with.

The thought terrified him. If Pei Yu wanted him dead, a single word would suffice to seal his fate. With this in mind, he turned to the nurse beside him in haste.

“Quickly, get Pei Yuner’s surgery scheduled. Have the city’s top specialist perform the operation.”

He couldn’t afford to be negligent; he had to atone for his earlier oversight.
