Chapter 9 – The Angelic Elf with Bountiful Melons
____________________Labyrinth City—
The name of a city surrounded by high ramparts.
Homes made of brick and stone were arranged along the roads.
A canal snaked through every turn of the city, gondolas constantly coming and going. Gondola drivers aplenty, there was always someone to take you where you wanted to go.
But the city’s best attraction wasn’t a date spot or sightseeing splendor.
So what was it?
This city, true to its name, had a dungeon. Not only to defend from the outside, the high ramparts served as a prison if the dungeon was ever overrun by the monsters that lay within.
When it came down to it, this city was pretty damn dangerous, and yet it was practically a metropolis. Medicinal plants, ores and monster materials necessary or useful for daily life appeared in the city’s dungeon, after all. Adventurers and merchants alike traveled here from all over the world to acquire those things for themselves or trade them off.
Our story continues in one quiet corner of this city.
In the room of an inn illuminated by moonlight, a little monster opened his eyes.
It’s so… warm… And this feels like…
The behemoth who just woke up was wondering about the warmth enveloping him. Looking around, he realized he was sleeping on a bed.
What happened? I should be dead…
Was this the afterlife? Or maybe a dream?
It’d be nice if this was a dream. This warmth is great… and this scent is good… I wonder what kind it is.
He was wrapped up in a comfortable futon, a very relaxing scent drifting about the room.
Hm… Seems it’s the afterlife after all, huh? Guess that means I can sleep a little longer.
The behemoth was about to fall back into the land of dreams when something interrupted his descent.
「Ah… thank goodness! You finally woke up!」
He heard a voice, like a ringing bell.
The gentle sound echoed in the behemoth’s ears.
Who…?!
He bolted upright, fully alert.
What, an angel…?
Oh, that’s right. This was the afterlife, so of course there’d be angels… but no.
Sitting in a chair before him was a beautiful girl that could easily be mistaken as one. She had long, platinum blonde hair. Her eyes were an icy blue, but gentle and welcoming. The beauty was wearing only a white negligee to cover her porcelain skin…
A certain part of the girl’s body was bouncing up and down.
Her ears. It was her ears.
Long and slightly pointed, they twitched every so often.
It seemed she was an elf.
「Are you surprised? I never thought I’d meet such a heavily-wounded kitten like you on a quest. Did you lose your way and end up in the labyrinth?」
She was addressing the behemoth with her chiming voice, though he remained stock still. Then she picked him up…
Munyun!
He had gone from enveloped in blankets to enveloped in breasts.
The… They’re huge! What even are these?! Appl—no, grapefru—no, melons!
Yes, this elf’s twin peaks were not hills, but mountains.
Even at a glance he could tell those sweater puppies couldn’t be kenneled in a cup size. That would have been like trying to store a desert in a litterbox. Still, if he had to think about it in terms of cups, they were… World Cup boobs!
「Fufu… Seems you don’t hate when I hug you. Now… I wonder what a good name for you would be.」
Looking at the behemoth who was snuggled tightly in her grasp, the elf smiled as she pet his head.
Haa… I can’t get enough of this. It’s so soft, and the smell is so nice… Ah, I see now, so this is her bed…
It felt like paradise.
And in the midst of the petting, the behemoth suddenly reached enlightenment.
This was his reason for living— He was reincarnated to protect this girl.
When he gave himself a once-over, the behemoth discovered his wounds caused by the earth dragon were healed.
Maybe the girl used a restorative potion on him. All the more reason.
That must mean the footsteps in the labyrinth were hers. She probably mistook me for a kitten.
Information regarding infant behemoths was as rare as the real thing. The elf probably had no idea.
「Fufu, that sleepy face… Would you like to sleep together with Big Sis again?」
The elf stood and headed back to the bed, the behemoth firmly against her chest.
Sleeping… together?!
A shiver ran down his spine.
The girl was a beauty. He’d never seen a girl this dazzling even in his last life. That incredible girl was currently holding him to her chest. And she intended on sleeping with him.
「Hmhm…」
After she settled under the covers, the elf adjusted her grip to more properly hug the behemoth in her new position.
Boing, boing, jiggle, boing.
The behemoth was trapped in bliss, his entire being coddled by her massive pillows.
Is this Heaven?
Even though inside may have been a knight, the behemoth’s body was still that of a child.
Well and truly ensnared in the elf’s motherly embrace and calming scent, the behemoth’s eyes fluttered shut.
