Chapter 41 - So Troublesome

“Sheng Yue, congratulations! You’re hosting this year’s school celebration again.” A middle-aged teacher with glasses congratulated Sheng Yue sincerely.

“Thank you, Mr. Gong,” Sheng Yue said with a smile.

At the same time, a taut string in her mind finally relaxed.

There was still time. The battle between her and Sheng Yang wouldn’t end soon; it would be a back-and-forth battle. She’d like to see who would have the last laugh.

As soon as she returned to her class, the students who had been paying close attention to her all gathered around her.

“Sheng Yue, Sheng Yue! What did Mr. Gong talk to you about? Did he ask you to be the host of the school celebration?”

“Eh.” Sheng Yue cupped her chin with her hand, looking a little worried. “Now, I’ll be busy writing my speech for the celebration and won’t have much time to study. What a bother.”

“No! Being the host is the most prestigious. It’s not something you can get with just good grades. It’s an honor granted by the school.”

“Not that important.” Sheng Yue shook her head and sighed. “I’m just lucky.”

“You’re too modest.”

In the crowd, Lou Shu also congratulated Sheng Yue, but Sheng Yue ignored her the whole time even though she clearly noticed when Sheng Yue’s eyes had fallen on her.

Lou Shu sat back in her seat, feeling upset, but there was an endless stream of people coming to congratulate Sheng Yue and they kept pushing her around.

“Although Class 7’s average math score was 0.2 points higher than ours, that was just a flash in the pan!”

“That’s right. The host of the celebration is still from Class One. What do they have?”

There were also some pacifists in Class One who didn’t approve of provoking Class 7 all the time. Upon hearing this, one of the pacifists pushed his glasses up his nose and said, “Don’t say that. Last time you laughed at the transfer student in Class 7, but she got full marks on the test! Humble yourself.”

The student whom he talked to turned purple in embarrassment. He was trying to flatter his goddess Sheng Yue but he was suddenly slapped in the face by his classmate.

“Zhao Sheng, what are you talking about? Are you from Class 7 or Class 1?”

The boy with glasses waved his hand. “Huh? Don’t take it personally. I’m just stating the facts. We should support healthy competition. Why does Class 7 have to be our enemy?”

“Hmph, you’re just attracted by that transfer student’s pretty face, aren’t you? Stop acting like neutral.”

The boy blushed. “Nonsense! You guys are really funny. Do you think we have to agree with you?”

The two factions quarreled and Sheng Yang was accused of seducing her male classmates.

“Don’t talk about my cousin like that. It’s not her fault that she looks good,” Sheng Yue said softly.

Although no one listened to her, everyone who heard her words thought Sheng Yue was being quite nice to her illegitimate cousin.

In the third year of high school, in fact, many schools didn’t have physical education classes anymore. This block of time was occupied by the core subjects instead. However, the principal of Yan City High School insisted on giving students one or two physical education classes per week.

The physical education teacher of Class 1 happened to be on leave, so the PE teacher of Class 7 took over the class. Therefore, Class 1 and Class 7 shared a physical education class.

When two enemies met, they were bound to fight.

The PE teacher of Class 7 had no understanding of the relationship between the two classes. In the spirit of “Friendship First, Competition Second”, he wanted to take this opportunity to organize a sports competition for these two classes.
