Chapter 118 - Self-righteous

“You seem to have a lot of free time?” Sheng Yang asked as she suddenly raised her brows.

“What?” Sheng Yue couldn’t believe what she heard. She provided Sheng Yang with a kind reminder but she wasn’t grateful at all.

But before she finished what she wanted to say, Sheng Yang had passed her and walked forward at an unbelievable speed.

Sheng Yue clenched her fists resentfully. How could there be such a woman in the world?

After school hours—

As soon as Sheng Yue walked out of the school gates, she saw a familiar Weitzman. Her eyes lit up, but soon after, she showed a self-deprecating smile.

Sheng Yuxi must be here for his biological sister. With his sister to accompany him, how would he remember his cousin who literally grew up with him?

What was new was always better; that was human nature.

“Ahhhh, Yueyue, Brother Yuxi is walking towards us!” He Yuan screamed, unable to restrain her excitement.

Sheng Yue remained expressionless. After all, she thought he came to see her last time but she turned out to be wrong. She lowered her head and stared at her toes.

It wasn’t until she saw a shadow on the ground that she lifted her head.

He Yuan was better at pretending than Lou Shu. Although she was so enthusiastic earlier, when she saw the handsome Sheng Yuxi standing in front of her, she immediately put on a perfectly gentle smile and gracefully pulled her hair behind her ears, looking quiet and obedient.

Sheng Yuxi looked at Sheng Yue deeply without any smile on his face. “Yueyue, do you have time? Can we talk?”

Sheng Yue’s lips curled and she didn’t want to agree right away.

Do you think I’m at your beck and call? Didn’t you deliberately ignore me and only attend to your biological sister last time?

He Yuan seemed more excited than her, hurriedly pushing her. “Yueyue, hurry up!”

Sheng Yuxi pursed his lips and still looked at Sheng Yue. His eyes were unfathomably dark and his voice was heavy. “Yueyue, it’s very important.”

Sheng Yue pretended to be reluctant. “Okay, then.”

Seeing that the two were about to leave, He Yuan felt anxious. “Yueyue, can I…”

Why isn’t Sheng Yue taking me with her? I’m Sheng Yue’s best friend, right?

Sheng Yuxi said, “Sorry miss, my cousin and I need to talk privately and it isn’t convenient to have anyone else there.”

Sheng Yue snickered. So domineering. Yes, this was the third brother she had known since childhood.

At the best restaurant near the school—

Along the way, many girls looked at them, whispered, screamed, and smiled shyly, which temporarily satisfied Sheng Yue’s vanity and made her feel less aggrieved.

She ordered a cup of milk tea, sipping it quietly. She thought if Third Brother apologized to her and gave her a nice gift, she could forgive him for what he did to her that day, but she wouldn’t forgive him so quickly. She certainly would strike a pose to rouse his guilt.

Sheng Yuxi hesitated for a moment before he made up his mind to speak. He said, “My mom cried last week.”

“What?” Aunt cried? Sheng Yue was taken aback. Would a tough woman like Aunt cry? “Did Yangyang make her unhappy?”

Sheng Yuxi suddenly looked at her with a mixed expression. “No, but it has something to do with Yangyang.”

“Alas…” Sheng Yue sighed deeply. “I talked to her this afternoon. She should be grateful for Uncle and Aunt. If it weren’t for them, she would still be suffering in that poor village! But she doesn’t seem to take me seriously.”
