Lu Zhiyuan chuckled and a gleam flashed across his eyes. “You’re too wrapped up in medicine. Considering your EQ, I hope you didn’t do anything else to annoy Sheng Yang.”

Lu Zhiyuan’s guess was right—the old fox.

On the way home, Kang Weizhen realized Sheng You was in a terrible mood, but she didn’t say anything. When they got home, Sheng You sat down on the sofa and suddenly said, “Let’s cancel this contract with Ming Qi, OK?”

“Why?” Kang Weizhen was a little puzzled. This contract would be very profitable and would greatly boost the company’s influence.

Her husband had never been so unreasonable.

Sheng You clasped his hands and turned aside. “Ming Qi never easily agrees to sign any contracts with people and has a bad temper, but he hasn’t explained why he insisted on signing this contract with us. Don’t you think that’s strange? What on earth does he want?”

Kang Weizhen stroked her chin. “I don’t think he’s as bad-tempered as the rumors say. Maybe the rumors are wrong.”

Sheng You turned angry when he heard this. “Then what do you think he wants? He could’ve signed with a company in Beijing and he has tons of choices. Why did he just choose our company?”

“Sheng You, you’re so weird today.” Kang Weizhen sat next to him on the sofa. “You used to be very concerned about work. Why are you acting so strange today?”

Kang Weizhen had no idea that her husband was jealous. In her view, she was a dozen years older than Ming Qi and Ming Qi was the dream lover of countless women, so how could he possibly be interested in her?

But little did she know that a man could be very narrow-minded and possessive when it came to his beloved woman.

Sheng You remained silent.

Kang Weizhen was too busy to soothe him. Soon after, someone called to talk to her about progressing this project.

Walking downstairs, Sheng Yang happened to overhear their conversation. Sheng You looked at her and scratched his head. Although he was a middle-aged man, he looked like a bewildered teenage boy at this moment. He said awkwardly, “Yangyang, do you also think I’m being ridiculous?”

Before Sheng Yang answered, he muttered to himself, “But I just care about your mother too much. Very, very much.”

His tone was extremely firm.

Sheng Yang didn’t quite understand what it was like to care about a person, but she remembered how upset she was when she saw Kang Weizhen crying some time ago. She didn’t know how to describe her feelings back then, but she just didn’t want to see her mom crying.

Perhaps this was what it was like to care about a person. It was a very strange feeling, but when she saw Kang Weizhen smiling afterward, she felt very happy.

Sheng You knew Yangyang didn’t talk much, but he just couldn’t help confiding in her. “I’m very afraid—afraid that Ming Qi is pursuing your mother.”

Sheng Yang frowned and realized that something was wrong. “Ming Qi?”

“Yes…” Somehow, with Yangyang, Sheng You felt very relaxed. He felt very comfortable talking to her although Yangyang seemed to be aloof, so he told her what happened today.

Sheng Yang was silent for a while then said, “I think Ming Qi signed the contract with you not because of Mom, but because of me.”
