Chapter 7 The Results Are In

Name:Biohuman Author:
Dr. Chang stood in front of the three with his hands behind his back. Lee Seng could tell his father and all of the bodyguards were staring at him. His huge tail and ears were drawing a more attention than he already drew. Theirblooks started to make him feel uncomfortable. He felt a new insecurity swirl into existence. Standing out simply by his looks.

'Was it because of that man's powers?' Lee Seng thought. A flash of the man in the Fox mask appeared in his head and Lee Seng stumbled backwards into Zoe. Zoe pushed Lee Seng back up.

"Oh, I'm..." Lee Seng stuttered. Zoe held him up as Dr. Valentin grabbed Lee Seng and steadied him.

"Your sense of balance is off because of your tail. It'll take time to adjust to this." Dr. Valentin said. Lee Seng looked down embarrassed. He didn't know what to say. He was more fixated on the man in the Fox mask.

'Did he really mean at a price?' Lee Seng thought. Zoe moved around to Lee Seng's other side and waved at Dr. Chang.

"Hello, sir, the Trigger is complete. It looks like we will have to do more tests." She said. Dr. Chang nodded and took another step forward towards his son.

"You've sprouted a tail and your ears are higher up now." The Creator observed, intrigued by his own son's transformation. "Do you know what this has to do with his power?" The Creator turned to look at Five and Six.

"Unfortunately, we don't understand the circumstances either. His trigger event started off differently than most Biohumans." Dr. Valentin answered. Zoe tapped the tablet and scrolled.

"It looks like his power might have something to do with altering gravity." Zoe read. "The tail and ears are a mystery." She looked up from the tablet and the Creator nodded.

"Alright, I guess we will have to do some blood work and scans to really see what happened." The Creator sighed. He stared at his son who still held his head down. Lee Seng sighed and folded his hands into one another.

----

Lee Seng sat on a raised bed, staring at a large mirror. He flexed his tail to move it back and forth and watched it through the mirror. The tail and ears were hard to get over and his sense of balance was thrown off. He would act like a baby learning to stand upright, again. Dr. Valentin and Zoe stepped into the room. Zoe pushed a cart of stuff over and Valentin walked over to Lee Seng, smiling.

"You ready?" He asked.

"Y-yeah..." Lee Seng said. "It's just weird to... see myself like this. I can move my tail around but it's kinda hard." Dr. Valentin nodded and pulled gloves on and began to get the needle ready.

"It will get sometime to get used to because it's so new. But I think you're doing well so far. Now stick out your arm for me."

Lee Seng stuck his right arm out and Dr. Valentin began to find a vein in mere seconds. He began to count to three and then inserted the needle and draw blood. A couple seconds later and Dr. Valentin pulled the needle out and handed it over to Zoe, who capped the needle. Dr. Valentin moved his hand onto the wound and his hand started to glow green. In seconds, he lifted his hand and nodded.

"All done. Now we just need to do some scans." He motioned for Lee Seng to walk closer to the huge mirror. "Step over here and we'll take some pictures with the 360 scanner and you'll be done." Lee Seng stood up and started to make his way towards the designated area. He instinctively began to adjust his tail to feel where he could balance it best. He stumbled to the side and quickly corrected himself and made it to the designated area.

"Alright, just stand there and the scanner will go around." Dr. Valentin said. Zoe hit the button near the entrance and a mechanical whirring noise came from above. A small ball floated down from the ceiling. It was a white metal ball with a huge camera lens on one side of the sphere. It began to scan and spin around Lee Seng.

'I wonder what's going to happen to me now. Is there any other cases where a Biohuman got a tail and ears like an animal?' Lee Seng pondered. 'I should really get used to walking around with the tail like this... Wait, won't I have to get specifically made stuff now?' Lee Seng groaned loudly.

"What?" Zoe asked. "Something botherin' you?"

"Oh, uh... I have a tail now so... what about my clothes below the waist?" Lee Seng blushed, starting to turn to look at his backside. Zoe nodded, trying to hold in a laugh. "Come on, don't laugh! I just thought about it! What am I gonna do?" Zoe covered her mouth and nodded. Dr. Valentin shook his head.

"Hold still, Lee. We can figure out some custom made stuff for you. Honestly, I didn't think about this as your backside seemed fine." Dr. Valentin said. The spherical scanner beeped and floated back into its hole in the ceiling. Dr. Valentin's tablet beeped and he tapped away. "Look here." He said walking over to Lee Seng.

Dr. Valentin began to spin the 3D model of Lee Seng around. He pointed to where his tail was located and moved it to a slightly side position and zoomed in.

"It looks like your tail is above your buttocks area on the waist line, but look here." Dr. Valentin tapped closer and bones began to show. "There's no sign of a set of tail bones or anything. Maybe your tail is a manifestation of Dark Matter."

Lee Seng nodded slowly. It could make sense why he didn't feel a draft or anything near his tail. If he did sprout a tail with tail bones and everything, he would've felt it, right?

"And if we switch it to a Dark Matter sensor, we get this." Dr. Valentin switched the sensor view and immediately Lee Seng's whole 3D model, lit up. Dark Matter was a by-product from the Biohuman serum. The Dark Matter amplified itself as time went on, but it was a by-product which acted as the prerequisite to activating one's ability.

The serum only altered your body and adapted it to become stronger than a normal human. The amount of Dark Matter one would get would entirely depend on the person and their innate ability. Those who had high successful changes with the serum, got more Dark Matter than those who didn't have such a success.

When Lee Seng got the serum a couple years ago, he had a low amount of Dark Matter in his body. It barely registered on a 3D scanner, but the serum seemed to physically increase his strength, endurance, stamina, flexibility, and senses. He became one of the few Biohumans with little to no Dark Matter but made up for it with his superhuman abilities.

Looking at the 3D model of him now, his body was greatly filled with large amounts of Dark Matter which shocked him. His mouth was agape.

"Holy shh--"

"It's increased by like 100 fold!" Zoe cut in. She had quietly made her way to the both of them as Dr. Valentin was explaining to Lee Seng about the results. Dr. Valentin nodded in surprise as well.

"Your awakening must've been pretty lucky then. It still doesn't make sense why your Dark Matter would increase like it did. There's no way that it could do that after taking the serum. The only way someone would be able to increase it is through training and you didn't have a power to train with." Dr. Valentin spoke aloud. It seemed like the three of them were really stumped on it. The three stared at the Dark Matter chart and Lee Seng pointed towards his tail. The tail was colored differently than the rest.

"Why's that not dark gray and blue like the rest of the Dark Matter? The tail is filled with white and gray." Lee Seng observed. Zoe and Dr. Valentin nodded and began to wonder why when the Creator's voice came from above. The three looked up and Lee Seng's peripheral caught the mirror shed its illusion and show his father behind the glass screen.

"This is a breakthrough in Biohuman history. In 25 years, we haven't gotten a single case like Lee Seng's. We must see why the tail's energy is different than the rest of his body." The Creator jollily said.

"You mean test on me more?" Lee Seng sourly asked. He turned to look at his father and his father's excited face frowned. "Dad, I don't want to be tested like a lab rat for, god, who knows how long!" The Creator shook his head in disappointment and sighed.

"This isn't about you as an individual anymore, Lee Seng. Last I checked, you've been causing too many problems at your school. I had to pull you out and get everything in order for you. This is the way you're going to pay me?"

"I don't want to be trapped inside these walls anymore!"

"You don't get to decide what you get to do! You've caused too much trouble. You will always cause trouble where ever you go. The world needs data on why and how you've had some sort of awakening. Your tail is proof that you are, indeed, very different!"

Lee Seng ruffled his hair in fustration. His tail slamming into the ground and shaking the room. Lee Seng looked up at his father with anger.

"Send me off to that Number Academy and have them watch over me. That would be WAY better than staying in this godforsaken place for years and years, hoping that I can get out and live my life." Lee Seng didn't understand why his father always acted out coldly to him. His father always seemed to hang onto some sort of hope with Lee Seng that he was special and even if he was a "failure," he still had to serve his purpose as the "Creator's Son." Lee Seng rubbed his eyes and felt the familiar rumbling energy in his body again.

"Things have changed with this discovery, Lee Seng. You won't be here for long, I promise." The Creator pleaded. Lee Seng shook his head and stepped back.

"Get out." He said. Zoe and Dr. Valentin looked at him. Lee Seng looked up at them with fear and anger. "Get out now, you two!"

"Lee, what's wrong?" Zoe asked wandering over to him. Lee Seng held his hand to stop her.

"I don't wanna hurt you guys."

Lee Seng's tail started to glow a darker color and Lee Seng began to shake.
