Chapter 43 Tall Forest: Field Test (2)

Name:Biohuman Author:
Lee Seng blazed through the tall forest. His tail swaying extending outwards to give him maximum speed. His ears twitched every time he heard another scream as he traversed the flat forest. Bushes began to spring up all over as he went deeper into the forest. He didn't have time to wonder why this occurred and instead focused on how he was going to take a horde out in a single blow. He dashed two trees fairly close to each other.

"The trees!" Lee Seng exclaimed. He spun himself around and slid backwards. He darted between the trees and looked around. "Gravity says the tree will fall depending on the direction I cut at it. Since I'm not cutting the tree, what happens if I just shove the tree the direction I want it to go...? It'll definitely have to fall that way if I do it right."

Lee Seng's ears twitched. He could hear a mass of footsteps coming his way. The screeching and yelling definitely told him it was the goblins. He look at the other tree positioned about eight feet away.

"Should I punch this one just in case?" Lee Seng pondered. He shook his head and readied himself. The loud screeching grew near. Lee Seng's eyes narrowed on the horizon. He could see a small group coming towards him.

"Skrah!" The goblins screamed. Lee Seng rubbed his hands together and readied himself.

"All or nothing!" He shouted. The goblins came towards him. Lee Seng swung his hand like a chopping motion, slicing the air. The tree cracked as a blast of gravity sliced it in one go. Lee Seng ignored the growing numbing sensation and lifted his other hand. He pulled back and quickly shoved his hand forward towards the top part of the tree. The tree shoved forward and started to fall down towards the goblins.

It started slide and fall directly on top of the horde. Goblins screamed and tried to disperse but most were squished under the heavy weight of the tree. The tree slammed loudly into the ground as smoke rose. The ground shook and Lee Seng yelped. His ears jerked at the noise and his tail quickly wrapped itself around him.

He coughed and tried to swat the smoke away from him. He could hear groaning noises in front of him.

"Skraa!" A goblin shouted. Three other goblins started to scream in return.

"Dammit. They didn't all die." He pulled his watch up and noticed the points.

"Does a tree count as killing them myself for the souls?" Lee Seng pondered. His ears jerked upwards and his tail quickly whipped behind him. He could hear the four remaining goblins stumbling around. They were trying to make their way to him. "I need to watch how much I use my powers." He flexed his hands. The smoke started to lighten up and Lee Seng slowly moved towards tree on his left.

The goblins screeched and one forwards. The four goblins slowly started to move forward, taking cautious steps. Lee Seng and the goblins were in a game of hide and seek and if he was found, he'd be in for a horrible treat. Lee Seng grew closer to the tree and took another step.

CRACK!

Lee Seng looked down and the goblins shot their heads towards the sound.

'Dammit.'

The goblins screeched and ran towards Lee Seng. Lee Seng watched as they jumped forwards with their wooden clubs. The first goblin swung with his club. Lee Seng jumped backwards dodging the hit and quickly whipped a kick right into the goblin's face. The three goblins quickly started a barrage of attacks. Lee Seng bobbed and weaved. A club smacked Lee Seng right in the chest and he stumbled backwards.

The goblins jumped at the opportunity to strike him all at once. Lee Seng's ears twitched.

'Fourth on the right and second on the left will hit first.'

He rolled onto the ground and pushed himself up with his tail and quickly threw himself up with his hands, flipping into the air as the goblins began to strike at the ground. Lee Seng landed on his feet and shook his head. He glanced around and saw a thick tree branch and grabbed it.

"This'll break in one swing." Lee Seng said. He tightened his grip and felt the vibrating energy enter the stick. The stick seemed to hold onto the vibration and Lee Seng leapt forward. The goblins began to charge at him, swinging blindly at him. Lee Seng dodged the first attack and swung his fist at another club, breaking it in half. He rushed at the broken club's owner and slammed the stick down at the goblin.

The familiar charge of gravity released at the last second and the stick slammed into the goblin's head, caving it in. The stick cracked loudly as half of it ripped off. The left most goblin swung and landed a blow onto Lee Seng. Lee Seng stumbled right and was met with another club in the gut. He grunted as he began to lose his balance.

The second to the left goblin screeched as it swung at Lee Seng. Lee Seng lifted his hands as the club connected. He could feel himself bruising and starting to bleed. Lee Seng fell onto the ground and rolled as a club slammed down to his left. The fourth goblin leapt at him and he swung at it, sending it flying off to the side.

The goblins stepped back. Lee Seng threw himself onto his feet and grunted. The goblins screeched as they continued to back up. White wisps were floating off of Lee Seng. He spit out blood and saliva and wiped his mouth. He dashed forwards, grabbing the stick. He swung the stick like a dagger and watched as it slammed into the second goblin's club.

Lee Seng whipped a kick at the goblin and sent it into the first goblin. He grabbed the club with the stick sticking out of it and slammed downwards at the goblins. The gravity charge burst and echoed as it made contact with the second goblin. The goblin screamed in pain and Lee Seng swung at the first goblin.

The two clubs made contact and shattered on impact. The first goblin screeched as Lee Seng grabbed at the goblin and slammed it into the ground. He swung a infused punch and watched as its head caved in. The third goblin raced towards Lee Seng and jumped. It was downwards towards Lee Seng's tail. His tail blocked the attack as he pushed the goblin backwards, turning around. He ran forward and started a barrage of attacks against the goblin. The goblin screamed as it blocked the attacks. Its club started to dent and shatter into tiny pieces of wood.

Lee Seng jabbed at the goblin, knocking it backwards. He dashed forwards and slammed his fist down onto the goblin. It screeched and writhed it pain. Warm blue blood painted all over Lee Seng as he lifted his fist. He slammed his fist into the goblin's throat and watched as it stopped moving.

Lee Seng huffed and puffed. He stood up as his tail swayed back and forth. He pulled his white shirt up and looked at the blue blood splattered.

"Initiate clean mode." He said. A small orb shot out of his phone pocket and quickly began to fly around him. The blood and dirt disappeared and the orb fell onto the floor.

'Maybe I should've saved those for when I was completely drenched in blood.' Lee Seng thought. He shrugged and sighed in relief. The fight was over and he stared at the bodies of the goblins.

"If the tree didn't get most of that group, I would've been in for it." Lee Seng huffed. He shook his head and looked around. "That tree falling must've alerted tons of things. If anything is curious about the tree falling, I'll have to get outta here before then."

Lee Seng moved deeper into the forest. The forest crunched as Lee Seng walked around. The cool Fall breeze brushed past Lee Seng. The forest was the same wherever he went. Sunlight peeked into the large roofed forest. Grass and dirt blended together at the bottom with bushes that seemed to sporadically pop up in different places. The flat terrain made it easy for traversing, but it worried him.

'Anything that I can see, could possibly see me.' He noted.

'This is great, Lee! We're getting souls and you're getting points.' Keng cheered. Lee Seng smiled.

"The souls are supposed to further your evolution or something, right?" Lee Seng asked.

'Mmmhm! More souls collected, the more powerful I become. You also gain power from helping me out.'

"Ahh," Lee Seng exclaimed. His tail swayed slowly back and forth. "So is there anything you can tell me about changes that might happen with me?" Lee Seng could hear Keng make a long 'mmm' noise for awhile.

'How do I say it without giving it away...?' Keng pondered. 'Oh! Just think of it like this. Every time you grow stronger, I grow stronger because of our connection. It's the same when I grow stronger and evolve. You get... Gifts you can use.'

"Gifts?" Lee Seng stopped. He looked around the quiet forest. "What kind of gifts?"

'It's like the white aura.'

"The white aura is a 'gift' from you?"

'Yup.' Keng nodded. 'If you can use these "gifts" well then you'll have no problem using the future gifts.'

"So I should figure out how to use that white wisp aura then... I guess I'll take that answer."
