Chapter 45 Humanoid Archer: Field Test (1)

Name:Biohuman Author:
The arrows multiplied quickly and flew straight for Lee Seng. Lee Seng quickly jumped to the side as a couple arrows landed themselves into him. He grunted as he hit the floor. The arrows sailed further into the forest and Lee Seng scrambled up. He grunted through the pain as he forced a small push of gravity outwards. The arrows shot out and blood splattered. The stinging pain of his body self-healing started. He scrambled onto his feet and ran towards a thicker part of tree lines.

The humanoid archer ran after Lee Seng, darting up into the trees. Each tree branch shook heavily and Lee Seng could tell that it was gaining on him.

'If there was a time for the white aura to come, it's now! I don't wanna die!' He pleaded in his head. His body ignored his plea, so he picked up pace. The trees began to blur past him and he started to gain distance between the archer and himself. He whipped past trees and quickly dodged any trees in his way. He didn't want to fight a B-rank monster. Especially one who could multiply and duplicate arrows like nothing.

Trees began to group closer together. The large roofed tree tops made the area dark. Lee Seng slid to a stop and glanced around. He could barely see anything.

"C'mon white aura. If there was a time to do this, it would be now." Lee Seng whispered.

'Lee, are you sure you want to be fighting in such a dark space? That thing has a environment advantage on you. It could have a sight advantage too.' Keng pointed out.

"Sight isn't the only thing I can rely on." Lee Seng stepped back. He could hear the archer coming closer. Lee Seng closed his eyes. He began to breath in and out slowly.

"Calm mind." Lee Seng whispered. He could feel the weight of his arms pulling at him. His lungs were racing to keep up with him. His slow breaths started to slow everything down. He could feel the world around him start to pause.

The world around him quickly picked up back to speed. Lee Seng could hear the archer closing in on him.

The archer materialized an arrow and notched it. It quickly pulled the bow string backwards and pointed at its next prey. The archer fired and the arrow whistled in the air. Lee Seng's ears twitched and he turned to the arrow. It was slightly to his left. The arrow began to multiply and it began to rain arrows on Lee Seng.

Lee Seng kept his eyes closed and started to dodge the arrows. He managed to swat some arrows away from him with his legs and tail. Each movement was precise. He danced along to the archer's tune, manipulating the quick tempo to his advantage. An arrow grazed his leg as he continued the dance. The archer materialized another arrow and shot it at Lee Seng.

Lee Seng grabbed the single arrow with his tail and snapped it in half. The arrows had rained on him, but he was able to come out with a couple of grazes. He opened his eyes and stared directly at the archer with a sinister smile. The odds were stacked against him and the world wanted him to know it. He let the broken arrow fall. Before it landed onto the floor, the archer shot straight at Lee Seng.

Lee Seng grunted as he jumped away. The arrow multiplied and rained down on where he was. He quickly dashed towards the archer. The archer began to hop between tree branch to tree branch. Lee Seng noticed the branches were all similar heights. He smiled and continued towards the tree the archer was at. He ran up the tree as arrows begin to land where he last stepped. He made it ten feet up before feeling the effects of gravity taking over.

He pushed himself off and became light. In one swift motion, he swung his leg in a arc and let out a huge slash of gravity that severed all of the trees in a 180 degree angle. He landed on the ground as trees begin to fall. The archer watched the trees fall and readied another arrow. It shot at Lee Seng. The arrow began to shimmer and boost itself.

Lee Seng watched as the arrow was closer than he thought and felt its impact on his shoulder. The force pushed his right shoulder backwards and he spun, landing on the ground.

"Dammit." Lee Seng cursed. He couldn't pull the arrow out because his arms were still heavy. He could feel the numb feeling on his left leg as he struggled to get up. Sunlight burned the forest with light behind Lee Seng. He grunted as he stood up. He could see that the archer was hovering in the tree branch straight ahead of him.

"Fine, I've made my mind up!" He grunted. He watched as the arrow shot out of his shoulder and blood ran quickly. He ignored the burning sensation of his body healing and rolled his neck. It seemed like the archer was watching him. It was curious of the fox boy. "If I'm dying, I'm taking you with me!"

Lee Seng felt a pulse of energy from his tail and moved it closer to him to look at. He didn't want to turn his gaze away from the archer. He didn't know when it would attack. It simply watched him from the shadows. Lee Seng stood in the sunlight glancing at his tail. It was pulsing. He smiled and moved his tail. He stood proud and his tail showed it. He rolled his arms and nodded.

"I wonder if Keng's right about you having an advantage in this shaded forest. Guess I'll cut down everything if I have to." He grinned. The white aura began to shoot out from his tail and wrap itself around Lee Seng. His arms felt less burdened by the negative. The archer readied its bow and waited for Lee Seng.

'It's waiting for me to finish?' Lee Seng observed. 'Huh, I guess this thing likes to play with its food. It must have a high intelligence then if it thinks I'm easy. I guess I'll have to really go all out.' Lee Seng lifted his arms up. He pulled the leather jacket off and his left arm quickly fell with the jacket. The jacket fell onto the ground and Lee Seng could feel his body was way lighter now.

"A weighted leather jacket that's fashionable, used for training and blocking any unnecessary ranged hits. Too bad it can't block that arrow tip." Lee Seng said. His arms felt lighter and he rolled them, ignoring the negative. He began to bounce up and down and smiled. "Don't worry about the shirt though. It's just a shirt."

The white aura began to wisp off Lee Seng and he instantly disappeared from his spot. The archer whipped its head and readied arrow around. It couldn't spot where Lee Seng went. The archer felt a blow to the tree and quickly hopped off of it as it began to fall. It jumped over to the next tree and felt the same thing happen. Lee Seng and the archer danced. Lee Seng hit each tree the archer would jump to causing sunlight to pour in.

'It's afraid of sunlight.' Lee Seng smiled. 'That means it doesn't want to be in the sun. I guess I'll have to create some more!' He jumped into the air and swung his leg in a 180 degree angle again. The trees sliced in half and began to fall all around. The archer screamed the tree it was on slid off. It quickly jumped and landed on the ground, sunlight burning its eyes.

Lee Seng scoffed at the creature. He could see it had light skin and very pointy ears. It's long lock of blonde hair stuck out. It held the bow in its left hand and reached up with its right to cover its eyes.

"Don't like the sun, huh?" Lee Seng grinned. It shook its head and readied its bow. It pointed directly at Lee Seng. The archer's eyes blinked quickly as it growled.

"Idar beaer lieon werlk." The archer growled.

"Huh, it can talk." Lee Seng said surprised. The archer shot and arrow at Lee Seng who simply dodged it. The archer didn't do anything to the arrow. It didn't multiply it or strengthen it with speed. "I wonder..." Lee Seng burst forward and swung at the archer who blocked the attack. The archer pushed back and began to kick at Lee Seng who jumped backwards. Lee Seng pressured the archer with kicks as it blocked and swung punches in retaliation.

Lee Seng slammed a kick downwards and the archer jumped away. The archer shut its eyes tight and seemed to be listening to Lee Seng.

"Dvema joieaj. Fox." The archer spoke. Lee Seng stopped when the archer mentioned 'fox.'
