Gravity bounced Jason towards the line. His flaming arms and legs desperately grabbed the floor. His fingers dug like claws. The flames went from a red-orange to orange, escaping Jason's arms in large billows of flames. His fingers dug into the arena flooring and he stopped himself short of the line. The flames burned Jason and he winced at the pain as he stood up.
'He made the flames... hotter?' Lee Seng guessed. 'Arrow.' He reached up and pulled another arrow into existence. He notched it and readied it at Jason. He watched Jason catch his breath. The sadness in his chest grew just like the anger did. Lee Seng's hesitation grew.
A horn went off as Olivia and Jae exchanged blows. Olivia could feel the difference between the brothers. Jason was more aggressive and straightforward while Jae put effort into every strike. Olivia deflected a punch and quickly rolled the punch away. The flames licked at her hands. She quickly moved forward and striked his chest with a punch. Jae's body froze in his spot. He began to panic as Olivia barraged him with multiple hits. He could feel his body stiffening with each blow.
Jason turned to look at his brother and noticed Jae was taking too many blows. He rushed towards Olivia as Lee Seng hesitantly watched.
"Damn it." Lee Seng muttered. The bow's enchantments popped up in his head as he slowly followed Jason with the bow. "C'mon, I need something that'll stop this."
Arrow and resonance shot glowed brightly. They were two enchants he had already used. His eyes skimmed through the list and landed on an interesting one. 'Bind.' He smiled as he refocused and watched as Olivia turned and saw Jason running at him.
"Get away!" Lee Seng shouted. Olivia began to run but Jason's fire only grew brighter and hotter. The orange flames engulfed most of his body now. Olivia began to run when Jason's body erupted four fireballs from different parts of his body. "Dammit. Bind!"
Lee Seng felt the bow resonant and glow. He felt his Dark Matter flow freely in the bow and arrow and held it. The bow and arrow began hum and he let go of the shot. He watched as the first two fireballs slammed into the ground throwing up smoke. The third and fourth fireballs flew into the smoke. Lee Seng could hear Olivia scream as her body flew out of the smoke and towards the arena line.
He raised his right hand towards Olivia and pulled her towards him. He watched as Olivia's body suddenly jerked left and slid towards him. He felt his right arm grow number and more heavy.
'7, 6, 9, 10.' He counted in his head. Lee Seng was keeping track of how many uses he had left on his arms and legs before he was useless. 'Arrow.' He pulled another arrow out of existence and notched it. Olivia came to a stop a couple of feet to his right. His gaze went back to the puff of smoke.
He swiped his hand at the smoke and watched as the smoke instantly cleared. Jason was nowhere to be found and Lee Seng saw that the binds had landed on the ground. Jae stood stunned. Lee Seng could feel Jae's gaze as Lee Seng glanced around. He didn't see any fire nor Jason's physical body.
'Where did he go?' Lee Seng thought.
"Surprise!" Jason growled. Lee Seng felt the heat of fire erupt to his side. Lee Seng was punched in the back of the head and he tumbled forwards, dropping his bow and arrow. His head burned as he tumbled onto the ground, rolling away from the bow. Lee Seng slid onto his knees and stopped himself. He looked up as Jason smiled. His fire was burning a orange-white color. Lee Seng could smell flesh burning.
"Jason, stop." Lee Seng shouted. "You'll burn yourself completely before you can even finish me off." He stood up. He thought he would be fine but his heart was aching for Jason. The wild look in Jason's eyes scared him.
"Why do you care?!?" Jason screamed. He raised his burning arms up and cackled. "I've never felt better! Who knew I could do this!?!"
'He didn't know he could do that?' Lee Seng thought. 'I'll need to really take this seriously or else Olivia and I are dead.' Lee Seng looked over at Olivia who was standing back up. She groaned, clutching her head. Her mind flashed as she remembered the two fireballs turning to smoke and then being ricocheted away by the third and being hit by the fourth.
The fire had made a hard impact on her head and she had a splitting headache now. Her Dark Matter was getting low and her own negative was eating at her mind. She shook her head and looked at a blurry Jason.
"Dammit, not now..." She muttered.
"I'm going to take anything and everything away from you. You betrayed my brother and I. I'll make you feel everything you did to us, a thousand fold!" Jason screamed. Horns blared all around them. Lee Seng looked up and noticed 8 minutes had passed. He could see concerned faces of students watching them. Some medical workers had even come to watch.
'Clear the distance with the white wisp form. The white wisp form will pull some of the negative away and fix some of the problems I'm having. I feel like I need somebody else to make this work.' Lee Seng thought. He turned to look at Olivia who was swaying back and forth. 'Olivia might be suffering from the effects of the fireballs. I don't even know what her negative is, but we can assume she has used at least half of her Dark Matter and is suffering from her negative now. What do I do?'
'Did you forget about me?' Keng asked. Lee Seng's eyes lit up like a light bulb and he nodded.
'I can call you out here!'
'Mmm, call me out. I have a feeling I'll be more of a use to you now.' Keng replied. Lee Seng nodded as Jason raised his hand in the air. A orange-white fireball was forming. It grew bigger and bigger.
"Keng, come forth!" Lee Seng shouted. Lee Seng's tail whipped and grew bigger. Keng leapt out of the tail and landed besides Lee Seng. Keng stood to Lee Seng's hip. The large fox's eyes mimicked Lee Seng's and narrowed his eyes at Jason. "Make sure Olivia doesn't get hurt."
"Alright." Keng dashed off towards Olivia as Jason's eyes followed.
"You had something like that up your sleeve?" Jason shouted. The fireball grew larger and larger. The arena border was fizzling at the immense amount of energy. Lee Seng took a deep breath and smiled.
"You know I don't play fair." Lee Seng smiled. He watched as Jason's face turned angry and threw the fireball at him. White wisps shot out of Lee Seng and engulfed him. He felt the bruises and burns disappear. The negative lifted off his body and his smile grew bigger. Keng's body started to mimic Lee Seng. His body started to erupt into white wisps.
Lee Seng lifted his hand up as the fox mask came into existence. A large push of energy shot out of Lee Seng's hand and a large hole in the fire ball formed. The fireball kept coming and Lee Seng began to shoot out blasts of gravity at the fireball.
'It's too thick with Dark Matter that I can't just destroy it out right.' Lee Seng thought. Keng ran forward towards the fireball and jumped into the air. HIs body flickered and appeared in the large hole of the fireball. Keng howled and white wisps erupted around him, infusing itself into the fireball.
Everyone watched as the white wisp began to eat the fireball away. The white wisps went through the fireball like nothing and Keng landed on the ground and turned to go back to Olivia.
"You can do that?!?" Lee Seng shouted. "How come I can't do that?" Lee Seng asked.
"You never asked!" Keng answered sliding and coming to a stop next to Olivia. Olivia's vision began to clear up and she saw a large white fox standing in front of her.
"What are--"
Keng moved his head to look at Jae. Jae groaned as his body suddenly became unfrozen. Lee Seng could feel his body pulse with more energy. He lifted his hands and the white film of aura and wisps grew denser. Jason erupted into screams and Lee Seng looked up.
"Jason!" Jae shouted. "Don't!" Jae scrambled towards his brother. Olivia and Keng watched as Jae stumbled towards his brother. The smell of burning flesh was growing and Jae knew well what the effects of their own power was. Lee Seng watched as Jae passed him and ran towards his brother. He grabbed his brother and cursed in pain as he held him. "Jason, stop! You're really gonna burn!"
"Let me go!" Jason roared. He ripped Jae's hand away burning him in the process. Jae screamed in pain as he stumbled backwards.
"Please, Jason. Don't throw your life away just for this! It isn't worth it!" Jae pleaded with his brother. The worry and fear in his voice wedged itself into Lee Seng's heart. His face twisted and he looked at Olivia.
"Can you disrupt him?" Lee Seng shouted.
"Disrupt him? I-I--"
"Please, Olivia! He's going to be eaten away by his own anger and power!"
Olivia nodded and looked at Keng who was watching the twins. She raised her hands and created to mirroring circle with her thumb and index. She connected them and took a deep breath. Her mind felt like it was fracturing, but Lee Seng's plea had worried her. The smell of burning flesh and the amount of eyes on their fight felt like they were all watching a suicide happen. Her heart raced and she took deep breaths to calm herself.
"Remember, Olivia. You are a crucial part of the battle. To disrupt the flow of battle and calm it in an instant. That is our purpose." An older woman's voice spoke in Korean. Olivia's mind began to mend and with each breath, calm the raging storm inside her.
