Chapter 94 The Demands Of The Meeting

"What? With Manny?" Lee Seng stood up. The chair loudly creaked backwards. Lee Seng's tail whipped and pushed the chair further back. He grabbed the papers and thoroughly read through the second bullet point. "Required to create a field group. You must create a field group team abiding by the Academy rules and regulations. Failure to abide by the Academy's rules and regulation will result in punishment and/or being expelled and moving back to the Creator's lab."

Lee Seng looked up at Nicole who was nodding along. She smirked at him.

"Continue reading. It's the next bullet point." Nicole waved. Lee Seng glanced back down and continued to read.

"Field group requires four members minimum and six members maximum. You (Lee Seng Chang) must fill one spot with Damion "Manny" Valentin, Third Year." Lee Seng read. He looked up and Nicole leaned back in her office chair.

"There you go. I personally think it would be a waste for Damion to spend his Third and Fourth years with you. He's done exceptionally well within the Mercenary program." Nicole shrugged. Lee Seng could feel Nicole's cold demeanor biting at him. He clenched his teeth and let out a sigh. "He would be at a disadvantage because of you. He's willing to throw away his top spot in the Mercenary program and be tied down because it's you." She motioned at him. Lee Seng grabbed the chair to his right and pulled it over and sat.

'She hasn't changed a bit.' Lee Seng angrily thought. He folded his arms and set his right leg on top of his left leg. He stared past Nicole weighing the options. He leaned over and pulled the papers and continued to thoroughly read it. He allowed the silence to fill the space between him and Nicole. Minutes passed and Lee Seng sighed and looked up.

"Read through everything, thoroughly?" Nicole asked. She looked up from her monitor and made eye contact with Lee Seng who was nodding. Lee Seng sighed, loudly and set the papers on the desk, slowly. Lee Seng motioned for Nicole to continue and watched as she rolled her eyes and resettled in her seat.

"As I was starting to say, there are only three major things the Creator wants you to follow and do while you're here for school." Nicole began. "One, you need to achieve and maintain a 3.5 GPA through all your academic work. This includes general studies and Biohuman-specific studies. Based on your previous academic markings, you did steadily increase your GPA to a 3.4 in your second year at Gryffth High. You shouldn't have a problem as the Creator has said you did very well in homeschool.

"Two, you are required to join a field group. You probably got emails about this prior to moving in, but field groups are made with at least four students who are willing to form a group together. Field groups directly mimics the Guilds system. Wherever you go, you will have to work with people you know and don't know, so the school has allowed students to form groups amongst themselves.

"The biggest requirement is you need to have Damion on your team no matter what. I don't care who you add afterwards. All of the field tests the Academy puts you on will always be made in mind with the field groups minimum and maximum sizes in mind. Once you settle on your group, you're stuck with them for the rest of the time you're here.

"Third, bi-weekly consultation on power development with one of the doctors at the Academy. The Creator wants to track your power development as well as the Protocol that's currently surging through your body. These bi-weekly consultations will be recorded and sent back to your Father. These check-ups, consultations, whatever you want to call it, only serve as a big way for your Father to understand your current situation. If the Protocol gets out of hand, you'll be dealt with accordingly." Nicole explained.

'Everything she said is basically the summaries of what the papers told me.' Lee Seng nodded. 'If I take a couple of steps back and look at this, these conditions aren't bad. They're following Academy rules and regulations as well as any parents wishes for their child to do well... Why would he try now, though? He only gets updates bi-weekly about my Protocol condition. I just hope I can get it under wraps before then...'

"So, do you agree to all of these conditions?" Nicole asked. Lee Seng looked up and slowly nodded. She pulled another set of papers out and set them in front of Lee Seng. "If you understand everything, sign these papers. You keep the first set of papers so you know what's expected of you." Nicole pulled a pen out and clicked it, setting it on top of the papers.

Lee Seng grabbed the pen and sifted through the papers. They were exactly like the first set of papers he got. He tapped the pen on the desk and sighed, leaning backwards.

"He really only wants these three conditions? He's basically asking me to be a good kid and get good grades and follow the rules. Yeah, it's annoying that I have to have Manny on my field group, but other than that, the bi-weekly consultations aren't even that bad." Lee Seng pointed at the papers.

"That's all he wants. He wants you to do well and he wants to monitor your Protocol and power progress." Nicole answered. Lee Seng sighed and went to sign but stopped. He looked up and Nicole sighed. "What else?"

"Can I ask who's going to be doing my bi-weekly consultations?" Lee Seng asked.

"Dr. Valentin will most likely be doing it because he's closely connected to the Creator and knows your situation. I don't think the Creator wants the Protocol to be leaked."

Lee Seng nodded and signed the papers. He clicked the pen and set it down and handed Nicole the papers. Nicole took the papers from Lee Seng and hit them on the desk, evening out the papers.

"Is that all?" Lee Seng asked.

"That's all for now." Nicole said. Lee Seng stood up and nodded.

"Alright, then I'm leaving." Lee Seng turned and pulled the door open. He stepped out into the quiet hallway and made his way down to the first floor.

Lee Seng stepped out of the First Year building and wandered down the steps. He took a couple of steps away from the stairs when he finally screamed.

"Argh!" He yelled. The few students who were around, looked at him. "So I can't get rid of him anyways!" He yelled in Korean. He marched back to the dorms, cursing as he picked up speed. He came to an abrupt stop once he reached the front of the dorm. He glanced at the front entrance and felt his phone buzz.

The group chat with Olivia, Ritsuka and Evan had a couple of messages. He clicked the notification and was brought to the group chat.

Evan: We're in the 2nd floor living space behind the elevators.

Ritsuka: You guys want snacks? I'll grab some before I come up.

Olivia: Chips for me, pls

Evan: I'll take some gummy bears

Ritsuka: Lee Seng, what do you want?

Lee Seng: Chocolate's fine.

Lee Seng: I'm back at the dorm. I'll meet y'all in the living space.

The three thumbs-up emoji'd him and Lee Seng slipped his phone back into his pocket. He walked to the door and pulled it open when he heard a rush of steps behind him. Lee Seng turned to keep the door open.

"Here you go," Lee Seng said. He watched as Elizabeth flew through the door and stopped besides him.

"Oh, thank you." Elizabeth huffed. She caught her breath and looked at Lee Seng. Elizabeth's face lit up and she pointed at Lee Seng. "Oh, it's you."

"Mmm," Lee Seng nodded.

"Thanks for holding the door." She said. She extended her hand out to Lee Seng. Lee Seng stared at it and she motioned for him to shake her hand. The two shook hands and she smiled. "My name's Elizabeth. You can call me Liz for short. I'm, uh, Manny's friend."

"Ahh, you're that girl from the test." Lee Seng shook her hand. The two pulled away and Liz nodded.

"Finding everything okay?" Liz asked.

"For now. It's kinda hard if I have to move between Year buildings." Lee Seng motioned with his hands. Liz nodded.

"You'll get used to it. You might be one of the lucky ones who has to do some runs." She chuckled. "Well, thanks for holding the door. I need to find Manny." She waved and Lee Seng watched her run off.

"That was weird." Lee Seng muttered. "I guess I'll hang out with the others before I talk to him." Lee Seng made his way to the end of the hall, past the elevators. He climbed the two flights of stairs and opened the second floor door and turned left. He wandered halfway down the hall and noticed a glass section on his left.

"Hey, Lee Seng, over here!" Evan waved. Lee Seng waved at Evan who was sitting in the corner of a L-shaped sofa and stepped into the room.

"The other's aren't here, yet?" Lee Seng asked.

"No, not yet. Olivia went to her room and Ritsuka's buying snacks."
