"It isn't what I think!" Jyu'so shouted. "It's what I know."
"Then tell me what you know." Keng shouted. Jyu'so recoiled from the sentence. He could sense Keng knew of something. "Tell me why I have to wait two years when I could be trying to get back my partner."
There was a moment of silence. Lily didn't know what to do in this situation. She was starting to feel like she had done something to cause this. She was beginning to think that the one who should've really felt afraid was not her, but Keng. Keng was acting like a different person she had gotten to know. He wasn't kind. He didn't slack off. He didn't joke around and go with the flow of whatever was in his head anymore.
This Keng was angry, cunning and not a child at all.
'Did I think he was a kid, too?' Lily thought. She hadn't realized she had put him into a box. She didn't realize she stayed away from him because he had never done such a thing. 'I know it's wrong, but did I really just…' Jyu'so's sigh cut her thoughts. He lowered his head and shook it.
"You have to stay here because the God King, himself, said so." Jyu'so told him. "That's the truth."
"But it doesn't seem to be all of the truth, Elder." Keng sneered.
"What your to—" Gorrum started forward when Jyu'so held his hand up. "E-Elder! He's disres—"
"Enough, Gorrum. I think we've caused enough trouble for one day, don't you think?" Jyu'so looked at him with a serious gaze. Gorrum swallowed whatever words he was about to say and stepped back. Jyu'so sighed and looked at Keng. "You want to know truth? You can barely walk, why would you want to run?" Jyu'so tilted his head. He slowly moved closer to Keng. His shadow split into more shadows and they shook back and forth in random directions.
"Look, child, if you are going to act like a kid then I don't need to tell you anything! I was specifically told to hold you here for two years and I will do that! There's nothing else I need to make myself clear on because it doesn't concern you!" Jyu'so's shadow splint whipped out and pushed Keng backwards as he continued forward. "If you want to act like you're the center of the world then don't do it in my sight! I'll keep that mark on you for the two years and then you can do whatever you want afterwards. You will abide by what the King says or I will bind you to my shadow for the next two years!"
Jyu'so continued to push Keng backwards with his shadows. Keng continued to stumble and eventually fell and landed on his butt. Jyu'so hovered over him as his shadows whipped around like tendrils.
"Do I make myself clear?" Jyu'so asked. Keng sighed and began to stand when shadow tendrils shot out and held him tightly. "Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear?!?" Keng gulped.
"Yes. Get away from me." Keng shouted. A tendril slapped Keng across the face as Jyu'so hovered.
"I didn't hear it. Say it right."
"Yes, Elder." Keng sneered. Jyu'so released him and Keng stood up and took a couple steps away.
"Good." Jyu'so began to turn. The anger in Keng burned. He wanted to desperately yell and demand answers but Jyu'so would never give them it. He kept his mouth shut and watched as Jyu'so looked at the other two. "Come, let's go. There's no one else to grab. He's decided his path. We will not help then." Keng watched them turn and start to walk away. Lily turned and gave him worried looks as Keng cupped his cheek.
"I guess I'm always wrong." Keng whispered. He shook his head and jogged after them. "You forgot something!" Jyu'so turned and looked at Keng. Keng items off of his sack and dumped them on Jyu'so's feet. "Take these back. They aren't mine."
"Then give me your clothes and backpack. They don't belong to you." Jyu'so motioned. "If you are going to be like this, fend for yourself. See if I care."
"Fine." Keng dropped the sack in the pile and started to pull his clothes off. He pulled his shirt, pants, and shoes off and threw them on the pile. "There."
"That belongs to me, too." Jyu'so pointed at the boxers. Gorrum gulped.
'I hate it when he gets extremely petty.' Gorrum thought.
"S-sir, why don't you—"
"No. He's going to give me everything I've offered to him so why would I hold back?" Jyu'so tilted his head at Keng. He definitely was acting snarky.
"Fine." Keng pulled the boxers off as Lily let out a embarrassing squeak and turned. Keng threw the boxers into the pile held the daggers in his hands. "If you're going to be petty and just not tell me why you're insisting on keeping me with you, then don't. I'll just go back to the Tomb and grab some old clothes from the other Saviors."
"You think you can—" Jyu'so began to say when Keng immediately interrupted him.
"Oh, you're not allowed back in the Tomb, actually." Keng smiled. "Remember, Elder, I'm a Savior and you aren't. Only Saviors are allowed in. Civilians and old men like you have to get permission."
"Old men?!? Brat you think I'm old?!?" Jyu'so shouted.
"Old. Stuck in his ways. And likes to hold too much to his chest. I'll be going now." Keng waved. He jogged past the group and stopped and turned to look at Lily who was trying not to look. "Oh, Lily. You can stay. You're a Savior." He turned and ran to the Tomb. Jyu'so's shadows whipped violently, pulling in all of the items into his shadow.
"That bastard child! He thinks he can talk to me like that?!? I AM NOT OLD! I have just lived longer than most!" Jyu'so shouted. He began to rush forwad when Gorrum grabbed him.
"Hold up, Elder." Gorrum spoke loudly. "I think we all need to calm down."
"CALM DOWN!?!" Jyu'so looked up at Gorrum. "I AM CALM! THAT BRAT IS GOING TO DIE WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HIM!"
"S-sir!" Gorrum grabbed Jyu'so before he could phase. "Let's not be hasty. Let's cool down! He needs to calm down to apologize correctly!"
"Apologize? He's going to grovel and BEG for my forgiveness after I whoop his arse!"
"Lily, could you go after him?" Gorrum turned to look at her. "I think the Elder and I were too hard on him. I, uh, didn't mean to say any of that… I'm just… Frustrated problems keep occurring. Can you check on him for us?"
"Fi-fine." Lily stuttered. "I can't guarantee anything. For now, you two should find somewhere to rest. It looks like he might not let you in the Tomb tonight."
"NOT?!?" Jyu'so shouted. "HE SHOULD BE CATERING TO ME! I'VE LIVED LIFETIMES! THE GENERATIONS KEEP ON GETTING WORST! THEY THINK THEY CAN JUST DEFY AND TALK BACK TO AUTHORITY FIGURES?!? HOW DARE THEY!"
"G-go. I will do my best to calm the Elder." Gorrum nodded. Lily gave a politeful bow to both of them before running after Keng.
Keng burst through the doors and turned to slam them. He muttered curses under his breath as he turned and went into his room. He slammed the door shut and locked it. He moved over and dug through a drawer full of old clothes.
"Fine. If he wants to play that way then he will definitely play by the official rules of respecting the Saviors boundary and power!" Keng shouted. He slipped on leather pants and a itchy shirt and sat down, arms and legs crossed, like he was pouting. "I went Feral. I hurt Lily! I disappeared for a night! Nobody came looking for me anyways! Why should I care what I did wrong?!? APPARENTLY EVERYTHING I DO IS WRONG!"
Keng screamed.
And screamed.
And screamed.
And screamed.
He screamed until his vocal cords gave out. Tears streamed down his face as he wiped the snot from his nose.
"I don't belong anywhere do I?" He weakly spoke. His heart felt heavy. He felt hurt. Lily pushed open the large Tomb door and slipped through it. She could hear sobs. "No one cares for me… I fucked it all up…. I shouldn't have said anything. I should've just taken it and kept to myself like Lily does…"
Lily gulped and shut the door. The door always made a loud noise and she had seemingly forgotten about it until now. Keng looked up towards his door.
'It's probably just Lily… Those two wouldn't dare.' Keng wiped his eyes. Lily walked over to Keng's door and knocked on it. It was three quiet knocks.
"Y-yea?" Keng spoke up, trying to hide his hoarse voice.
"Keng?" Lily spoke. She paused afterwards. Did she want to talk to him, herself, or follow orders? "Um, I just…"
It was silent, again. Keng eventually heard Lily slide against the door and rest her head against it. Keng turned himself to look at the door.
'What should I do?' Lily asked herself… 'What would Momma say to me about this?'
