Mother Wang and the Father stepped out of the kitchen area and wandered over to sit around the living room table. Winn moved so his parents could sit directly across from Keng and Lily made herself at home in between Jacob and Keng while Philip flanked his left.
"What's this all about?" The Wang siblings' Father spoke.
"Uh, sir…" Keng started when he realized he hadn't gotten his name. "What's your… Name if you don't mind me asking?"
"Fan'r." The Pink fox answered. "Lily said you had something important to ask us. Judging from Jacob's expression, I hope you aren't trying to ask my daughter's hand in marriage. She's barely fourteen."
"Oh, no no no no no!" Keng waved. "It's not like that at all."
"No? My sister ain't good enough for you?" Jacob leaned into Keng like he was offended.
"Shut up, Jacob. It's not like that at all!" Lily pushed his face away.
"Come on, let him speak." Mother Wang hushed her children. She looked at her husband. Keng noticed the children all seemed to look at him.
'He makes the decisions around here.' Keng noted.
"What is this about then?" Fan'r asked, motioning Keng to speak. Keng moved himself and sat on his knees. He gave a very politeful bow as he started to speak.
"I would like to take Lily with me to Pea'ir."
The family looked at him in shock. It was sudden and Mother Wang's eyes went to Lily while Fan'r and the boys kept their focus on the bowing Fox Spirit. Keng slowly rose and continued his explanation.
"I've been informed by Goddess Hydran that she's needed there with me. I've been tasked by Lady Hydran to travel to Pea'ir and help the Merfolk. I don't know why Lily is needed, but that's all she requested of me. When we were ready, I was told to use her god weapon, Hydrosphere, and transport us to the seaside village."
Silence fell in the lively living room. Keng couldn't tell what most of them were thinking. He assumed they were processing the information. He patiently waited as they all absorbed the BIG information as Lily nervously played with her apron. Keng looked at her and she eyed him, here and there. She grew nervous as Keng's orders were recited to her family.
'How would they take it?' Lily wondered. 'Why haven't I been notified of this? I wonder what I'm supposed to do...'
"You're the wielder of Hydrosphere? The Goddess of Water's god weapon?" Fan'r asked breaking the silence. Keng nodded and tapped the daggers at his side.
"I thought she wielded a trident. Why are they like that?" Winn asked.
"A good question." Fan'r nodded. He gave Keng a 'care to explain' look and Keng cleared his throat, yet again, and pulled the daggers out and set one of the table. Jacob grabbed it with no hesitation and studied it as Keng held the other one in the air.
"It's true that Hydrosphere is supposed to be a trident. When I found it, it was like this already. Sir Gorrum, the wielder of the God weapon, Nightbane, explained it as the weapon may, sometimes, shift to fit its next master. I don't know why Hydrosphere changed into daggers, but it suits the way I fight." Keng explained. Jacob handed the dagger over to his father and Fan'r studied it.
"Your energy has already infused itself, well, with the dagger. Can I see the other one?" Fan'r asked. Keng nodded and handed the dagger over to one of the brothers. They handed it off to Fan'r, who held both of them. Fan'r held them, focused, and Keng's eyes naturally slipped into Sight sensory. He could see a pink aura surrounding the blades.
'He's checking them?' Keng wondered. The pink aura died and Fan'r handed it off to Bright, who was itching to hold them. Bright snatched them and began to study them.
"A god weapon always stands out no matter what era we're in. It seems Hydrosphere is truly yours to wield." Fan'r nodded. "If the Goddess of Water has decreed to you that my daughter is needed, I have no choice but to accept that. I just wish we could get a sign from the gods who Blessed my daughter. It would lessen my nervousness if you understand what I mean, Young Keng."
"I understand, sir." Keng nodded. Keng knew the gods were vocal when it came to orders with their Blessed and favors. It was strange Lily didn't get anything from the journey from the Tomb to the village.
"I know I may look like I'm someone who accepts things easily but trust me, I take this just as hard as my wife. We're her parents and she is our only girl of six. I don't want my daughter to go off with someone I barely know even if it's on a gods order." Fan'r sighed.
"I will… Do whatever is necessary to gain trust." Keng bluntly spoke.
"Keng!" Lily tapped him.
"What?" Keng looked at her. "I feel like that's the least I could do to gain some trust with your family. I don't want anything bad to happen to you because I took you by Lady Hydran's orders. It sounds... Not right."
"That could be taken in so many ways!" Lily's face lit up red in embarrassment. "Why do you have to say it like that?"
"It's alright, Lily." Fan'r hushed his daughter. Bright gave the daggers to Winn, who twirled them in his hands like he was well accustomed to daggers. "A forthright young man. Not many young ones are like that nowadays. They're usually cocky and think the world is at their finger tips. Answer my questions, Keng. I want to know the boy who's taking my daughter into another region. We must build some sort of trust before I let my daughter go with a Fox Spirit who's shrouded in many rumors and mysteries."
"Fan'r." Mother Wang whispered, grabbing his arm. Fan'r kept his focus and looked at Keng with interested eyes.
"Well… I'm sure you've heard but the Vessel, God King Dathro chose, is a Biohuman named Lee Seng Chang. Our connection had an altercation and I can exist on the same or different plane as my Vessel. We're the second generation of Saviors. Blessed by Rox'su and Vox'su and gained three tails in a short amount of time. Him and I were at Dat'e many Earth months before with a Biohuman friend as well at one point." Keng began to explain.
"Biohuman. What's this term? I'm unfamiliar with it." Mother Wang asked.
"It's what the humans on Earth call themselves now." Keng replied. "Twenty-five human years ago, a doctor named Dr. Chang or known as the Creator released the Biohuman serum into the world. It altered Earth down to its very core and not much is known about the apocalyptic world now. Humans, when injected with the serum, gained powers. My Vessel, Lee Seng Chang, originally thought he didn't get one. When he made the deal with the God King, his original Biohuman power triggered and created a immensely strong second Biohuman power as well as giving him loads of Dark Matter Energy. It's practically the same to the one all of you are taught here "
"What is his original power then?" Bright asked.
"Bright!" Mother Wang looked at her curious son.
"It's alright, Mother. He's curious to know what Lee Seng's powers are." Fan'r defended his son.
"I'm not supposed to say, but it does have to do with Brother Eshra." Keng replied. Fan'r nodded as his sons and daughter grew confused.
"What does he mean by that Father?" Jacob asked. "Can't he tell?"
"It's not my place to tell secrets of others, Jacob. You know that. If our guest wishes to withhold information such as that, I will not push."
"Just know if anyone knew Lee Seng has this particular power, people would try to use him as a tool. They would see him no more than that." Keng told the others. "But the Biohumans have been slowly fighting to reclaim the world that was there's."
"And where is your Vessel then?" Winn asked. Keng lowered his head for a moment. He fiddled with his hands as he refocused and looked at Winn and the others.
"In the Earth Realm. I'm afraid something is about to happen to him. I don't have much time before I have to return to him and reconnect with him before…" Keng trailed off. His sad expression told the rest what they needed to know. Something bad must've happened to Keng's Vessel.
"How much time were you given?" Fan'r asked.
"Originally two years. I'm marked by Elder Jyu'so and I can't leave this Realm until then, but Vox'su visited me as well and told me I have four months to handle the Merfolk problem and return back to Earth." Keng replied.
"And how are you going to do that when you're marked by someone as powerful as Elder Jyu'so?" Jacob asked. "He's known for his marks and Shadow magic. Not many people break through that spell."
"I'm not sure but I think Vox'su gave me what I needed to return." Keng lifted his left hand and showed them the mark of the suns. The mark shimmered and Winn, Bright and Philip seemed the most intrigued by the mark. They let out a 'wow' in amazement as Keng brought his hand back to his side.
"Is that all to know about yourself?" Fan'r asked.
"Yes, sir." Keng nodded. "I'm still learning a lot about myself, though. I do wish I could be by Lee Seng's side, again, but I have much to learn while I'm here." Fan'r nodded and the Wang family seemed to look at their Father for an answer of sorts.
"Alright. Do you have to leave now?" Fan'r asked.
"No, sir." Keng shook his head. "I want Lily to be with you all and see and celebrate Isaac's return to the region, first. I can at least do that for her."
"Mmm." Fan'r nodded, standing up. Mother Wang stood up and wrapped her arm around her husband as Fan'r looked around at his children before resting his eyes on Keng. "Will you be staying with us then?"
"If you don't mind, sir." Keng bowed, again.
"You don't need to bow so much, Keng. We're not that—" Lily began to say as Keng bowed.
"It's alright. It's better to be polite than thought as improper, correct?" Fan'r spoke. Keng rose and nodded. "You will stay with Jacob. Philip and Lily stay together and my oldest will join you and Jacob in about a week's time. Can I count on you to help with hunting?"
"Hunting?" Keng repeated. Fan'r nodded and pointed at the bag next to Keng. "Oh, the bow. Yes, I can help."
"Good. You'll hunt with my sons tomorrow then."
