Keng blinked into the Mark, wasting no time as he began to jog into the village. The soldiers greeted the hasty Keng as he waved at them and moved towards the square. Gorrum was standing at the square with his arms intertwined together, waiting for Keng.
"What took you so long?" Gorrum asked.
"Ran into Isaac." Keng replied. Gorrum raised an eyebrow and looked past Keng. He saw none of the other brothers with him.
"Where are the rest of the brothers? Weren't they with you?" Gorrum asked. Keng looked behind him and realized he had gone way ahead of them.
"Jacob reminded me I needed to meet with you and I kinda left them behind." Keng rubbed the back of his head as he looked at Gorrum. Gorrum sighed and nodded.
"Alright. Isaac is with them? You said you met him."
"Yeah, he's with them. But what did you want me for?"
"You've been training here for the slt couple of days, using your Energy Sight right?" Gorrum asked. Keng nodded at Gorrum. "Well, besides that you've been delving into common spells and Savior history and spells correct?"
"Yeah. I just got a hold of Void Storage." Keng replied with a nod.
"Well, after the party, I cannot go with you. I must return to my post. They need me there and you're needed in Pea'ir with Elder Jyu'so. So I just wanted to give you this before the party begins." Gorrum reached into his Void Storage and pulled out a beaded bracelet. It alternated in black and white beds with two single beads in gold and silver.
"This is for you." Gorrum offered it to Keng. Keng took in and studied the bracelet closer. The beads looked like it had designs with each one of them. They all looked different from each other.
"What's this for?" Keng asked, looking up at Gorrum.
"I wanted to commemorate this day by giving you this beaded bracelet. I made it myself." Gorrum told him.
"You did? Why would you give me such a nice thing? It looks very expensive."
"Ever since I was asked to train you I decided I would make this in my spare time when I wasn't training you. I thought this would suit you very well. You don't wear a lot of jewelry and you fight with you hands so I made that. It should withstand your abilities well." Gorrum explained. Keng slipped the beaded bracelet on. It was made of a stretchy string material that allowed him to slip it on with ease.
Keng held his left hand up and stared at the bracelet. The gold and silver bead faced him and he smiled.
"Thank you, sir." Keng began to bow.
"Oh you don't need to be so formal with me. Just think of it as a gift. I made something for Lily too since I haven't trained too many people before. I just want you to remember me when you're off Realm or wherever you end up." Gorrum explained.
Keng nodded and lowered his arm back to his side. The sound of people caught Keng and Gorrum's attention, pulling them to look behind Keng. A growing group of people were gathering.
"I guess they're here." Gorrum cleared his throat. "Let's go meet him. I would like to greet him after not seeing him for so long." Gorrum took off, Keng following suit.
The growing crowd was shouting Isaac's name. They greeted him with hello's, how are you's.
'He's big around here. I wonder if Mrs. Wang and Fan'r are very proud of Isaac… They must be since they speak highly of their kids, too.' Keng thought as he followed Gorrum through the crowd.
"Ah, if it isn't Isaac." Gorrum chuckled. The crowd broke for him, letting him through. Isaac turned to greet Gorrum, a smile appearing on his face. The two moved towards each other, shaking their hands and giving each other a half-hug pat.
"Sir Gorrum! It's been awhile! What brings you all the way to this Region?" Isaac asked.
"I've taken on a pupil of sorts for a short time. Fate brought him here so I'm here with him." Gorrum turned and revealed Keng.
"Oh, it's you." Isaac pointed. Keng gave an awkward smile as he waved.
"Hello." Keng greeted Isaac, again.
"Ah that's what they meant by Sir Gorrum's teaching him. You're under Sir Gorrum!"
"Y-yup." Keng nodded.
"Our time is up after he leaves for Pea'ir with Elder Jyu'so and your sister." Gorrum explained. Isaac's happy look turned to curiosity.
"My sister is going? Why?" Isaac asked.
"It's a long story." Jacob stalled his arm around Isaac's shoulder. "It's a story worth telling when we're not around so many people."
"Well, everyone." Isaac addressed the crowd. "Thank you for all the warm welcomes but I'm going to head home for the time being and be with my family. I'm looking forward to celebrating my return." He waved at the crowd as his brothers turned to move through the crowd.
"That's our cue?" Keng asked Gorrum.
"Just let them have some time alone for now." Gorrum waved at Keng. "You and I should help around for a little longer." Gorrum led Keng through the crowd and over to the opposite gate. Soldiers and villagers moved about as building supplies and builders worked to prepare everything for building.
"Where do you want these, Buildmaster?" Jyu'so asked.
"Can you portal them into the second level, Elder?" Buildmaster asked, pointing out the area he wanted the supplies to go. Elder Jyu'so lifted the items and entered the items into the portal following after. "Ah, Sir Gorrum, Keng. Just in time."
"Buildmaster, everything seems to be going alright. Need more hands?" Gorrum asked. "I got the best use of architectural help you could ever get." Gorrum pointed at Keng, who immediately put on a smile.
They weren't wrong about him being the best architectural helper. He could literally look at a build and get it all set up and lifted up within a couple of hours if they needed it.
"You need me to build another watchtower?" Keng asked. "I got those down. Could do it with my eyes closed."
"We're rebuilding this wall. Sadly we need a lot of structural rebuilding so it doesn't fall apart when we get it, again. Could you help us with that?" The Buildmaster asked.
"Whatever you need. I'm at your call." Keng replied. The Buildmaster pointed him to one of the builders and Keng began his work with the builders, lifting things and holding objects in place.
"Alright, that's good. Hold it there, Keng!" The Builder shouted.
"Alright!" Keng gave a thumbs up before watching the workers start their work. Earth, fire and wind users made quick work of the material. Manipulating their elements and the material to quickly work.
'I wonder how they did this stuff back on Earth before powers were a thing.' Keng thought.
He spent the next couple of hours moving supplies up to the workers and holding things in place while the workers did their part. Thoughts about construction work came and went for him. By the time he grew tired from all of the DM usage, it was time to call it quits and eat dinner.
Keng followed the others down to the ground, circling around the Buildmaster as he addressed the workers.
"Good job today everyone." The Buildmaster began. "With the extra help, we managed to do seventy percent of the wall. Let's get everything secured and we can head home for dinner. Have a good night everyone!"
"What now?" Keng looked at Gorrum.
"Keng! Sir Gorrum!" Philip shouted, darting through the crowd. Keng and Gorrum turned and watched as Philip ran up to them. "I caught you just in time. Where's Elder Jyu'so? My parents told me to invite you over for dinner, again. Isaac is here and we would love the company."
"Mmmm, I thought I saw him around here." Gorrum scanned the crowd with Keng following suit.
"There." Keng pointed. "Elder Jyu'so! Elder Jyu'so!" The Elder looked over as Keng and Philip waved for him to come over. The Elder said his goodbyes and moved over.
"My parents want to invite you guys over for dinner, again." Philip told Jyu'so.
"Are you sure? Your eldest brother is home. I don't want to interrupt any catching up you would probably do." Elder Jyu'so politely told him.
"Oh don't worry, Elder. We got most of the catching up done. Isaac wanted to invite Keng, especially, so it isn't a problem."
"He wants me over?" Keng asked. Philip nodded.
"Yeah. Not sure why. He didn't say. Just said, 'Invite that new friend of Lily over.' We told him Sir Gorrum and Elder Jyu'so we're with you, so my parents just said we'll just invite you all over again." Philip explained.
"Ah, thank you for your invitation." Jyu'so spoke. "We will stay for dinner and stay the night at the Saviors Tomb, again. I don't want to be in your hair for too long. You guys have already given us so much hospitality in these last few days."
"Oh, it's no problem at all! You helped Lily and Keng with the Curse. If it weren't for you guys, we would be in so much more trouble. It's the least we can do." Philip brushed Jyu'so's politeness off. "Come, let's go!"
