The ground hissed as the dark liquid dropped to the ground. The large spider hung onto the wall as its head cocked. Lee Seng gulped, not daring to move a muscle. Spiders were one of many things that stopped his bravado.
"Lee Seng… What do we do?" Lisa asked, quietly. She could barely hear him as he tried to answer. Incoherent stuttering came out of his mouth as fear tried to move him away from the large spider. "Lee Seng…!" The spider screeched, releasing Lee Seng from his hold as he made more distance between him and the spider.
Lisa gritted her teeth as she watched Lee Seng move away. The spider jumped off of the wall and launched herself straight for her. She clicked her tongue and rose her thumb to her lip. At the last second, she dodged out of the way as the spider landed between her and Lee Seng.
"Dammit." Lee Seng stuttered. His body shook from pure fear as he backed up into a corner. "S-s-s-stay away!" He lifted his hand as the spider rushed at him. Lee Seng jumped out of the way, rolling onto the ground as the spider landed on the wall. It turned as Lisa lifted her thumb to her lips.
'I guess I have no choice.' Lisa bit her thumb and felt the prick of blood flow. She moved her thumb from her mouth and pointed it straight at the spider. She pulled the blood like she was pulling a bow string and a large blood arrow formed. The spider jumped straight for Lee Seng as Lisa let go of her arrow.
"Blood Arrow!" The arrow pierced the spider, knocking it away from Lee Seng as he clamped his eyes shut. Lisa wasted no time in taking this opportunity to get to Lee Seng. She grabbed him and started to pull him up. She could feel the shaking coming off of him as she grunted.
"We don't have much time, Lee Seng! Stay behind me!" She told him. Lee Seng did what he was told and ran behind her, cowering as he tried to hide himself behind the small and scarred girl. Her eyes narrowed on the spider as it hopped back on its legs and faced Lisa. The blood from her thumb began to swirl around her, amplifying in size as she readied herself.
"I… I… I can d-deal with mo-most things but… But not that!" Lee Seng screamed as the spider rushed for the both of them. Lisa planted a foot forward and raised her arm. The spider jumped off to the right, launching a large dark liquid at them. Blood fired at the liquid, splashing it as the spider flew past it.
"Move!" Lisa pushed Lee Seng backwards as she planted her back foot behind her. Her body turned to the side as blood began to pool in her left fist. She lashed the energy out, missing the spider as it jumped higher. The spider shot another dark liquid at Lisa. Lisa screeched in pain as the liquid burned her arm and face. The spider landed behind her, firing webs at Lisa.
"Ahhh!" Lee Seng scurried backwards, raising his hand. Gravity blasts flew wildly through the air. The sewer walls began to cave as the spider darted straight for Lee Seng. "Stay away!" Blasts followed the spider as it jumped through the air, passing by Lee Seng and landing on the wall near the pulsing sack.
Lee Seng fired a blast of gravity, missing and hitting the sack. The sack exploded releasing a putrid smoke into the air. Lee Seng jumped backwards, sliding to Lisa as she grunted.
"Get me out of this, quick!" Lisa shouted, trying her best to ignore the burning acid on her body. Lee Seng turned, tightening his jaw as he blasted the spider webs off of Lisa. Lisa pulled her arms and legs out as her mask shifted to support her breathing. "W-w-w-what did you do?" The sewer walls were crumbling around them as the spider shrieked. Globs of liquid flew out of the dark smoke clouds. Lisa fired blood arrows at them, stopping them from coming any further.
"A-are you okay?" Lee Seng asked, lifting his hand up.
"I'll be fine. Worry about that." Lisa motioned with her head. Lee Seng turned to watch as tiny spiders skittered out of the smoke.
"More!" Lee Seng shook his head. Lisa lifted the blood orb up in the air and blood began to fire out in tiny droves. The spiders who couldn't move quick enough, died while others rushed to feast on their prey. Lee Seng moved closer to Lisa and lifted his arm up. A cosmic barrier flew up around them.
"What do we do now?" Lee Seng asked.
"You're gonna wreck the sewer walls and everything's gonna cave in on us!" Lisa shouted. The spiders flew at the cosmic barrier, instantly disintegrating on contact. "I'll handle the spider. You just protect me."
"B-but…!"
"No buts!" Lisa turned with a serious look on her face. "You may be scared of spiders, but I'm not. I'll handle it. You support me." Lee Seng gulped as Lisa turned around. She lifted the blood orb and pulled it with her other hand. "Release the barrier on my mark…. 3. 2. 1. Now!" Lee Seng gritted his teeth and followed Lisa's orders. The barrier flew down and a large bloody arrow flew out of Lisa's hands. The arrow seemed to whip and sap blood from all of the spiders around it as it flew into the smoke.
The large spider flew out of the smoke. Lisa cursed under her breath as she stablized the blood orb. She moved forward, pushing her hand at the orb. Small blasts of blood flew as Lisa tried to hit the spider. The spider hopped around, quickly getting above Lisa.
"Barrier!" Lisa shouted. Lee Seng's hand tightened into a fist. A barrier flew up around Lisa as the spider launched itself straight for her. "Blood Craft: Field of Roses!" Bloody red flowers sprouted all around Lisa and Lee Seng in an instant. Lee Seng could smell the fragant smell of something nice.
The spider slammed against the shield, bouncing backwards as the flowers fired at the spider. Blood petals painted the entire area in red as the mercury in Lee seng's mask strengthened its defenses around his mouth and nose.
'This scent…!' Lee Seng turned his head away and put a hand over the mask. 'If I breathe anymore in, I'll really die!' The spider shrieked as roses began to sprout out of it. The roses exploded, swinging the spider around like a rag doll. Lisa extended her arms outwards as the blood orb glowed bright.
"Come!" Lisa shouted. The blood glowed bright as it started to fly straight for the orb. Lee Seng grunted and created a small opening for Lisa. The blood ripped the spiders limbs into tiny pieces as it flew back to the orb. The blood flew like rose petals, building a large floating blood rose in front of Lisa. The putrid smell of the spider's egg and the sweet scent of Lisa's attack faded.
Lee Seng's mask shifted, automatically going back to its normal form as he removed his hand. Traces of blood dripped around them as Lee Seng looked around. The large spider laid lifeless in the leftover sewer waters. Lisa's quiet heavy breaths filled the odd silence.
'Did she do it?' Lee seng wondered. He pulled the barrier away, his fear and curiousity fighting against each other as his gaze stayed on the spider. 'Is it dead?' Lisa's blood flower moved to the side as she stepped towards the spider.
"SKREEE—" A thin line of blood pierced the spider, killing it. Its blood splattering over Lisa as she winced. The spider's blood was burning her.
"H-hey are you okay?" Lee Seng reached out. His feet wouldn't move even though he knew the spider was dead. Lisa flicked her fingers on the spider and watched the blood fly off. She sucked in a harsh breath between her gritted teeth as she fought against the pain. "Do you—"
"Blood Craft: Rejuvenate." The blood flower flew into Lisa, covering her entire body. Her jaw untightened as the pain started to disappear. "Two left. Gotta use it wisely." She turned to look at Lee Seng who was awkwardly standing there. "What? You're not the only one who can heal."
Lisa moved from right to left in front of Lee Seng, kicking a dead baby spider to the side.
"Come on. Let's go." Lisa motioned. Lee Seng started to nod and moved to follow her. He avoided the spiders as he followed Lisa, who was kicking the spiders in every direction as she came at them.
"Was that blood magic?" Lee Seng asked. "I thought you were just a regular vampire. Suck blood, pale, super strength and speed. Super regeneration."
"Blood Craft. It's my weapon." Lisa replied. "Yeah, I might have super strength to punch whatever needs punching, but Blood Craft is more useful than my fists."
"Y-you seem to have a… Scary good move… Th-that Blood Rose move or whatever. That could've killed me."
"But it didn't." Lisa smiled. "Come on, let's make up for lost time."
