Chapter 562 Unlocked: Job

Name:Biohuman Author:
The silver energy fired out of Jengs hands, expunging everything in it's path in pure heat. Vizo and Rya shielded themselves as the blinding light impaired their vision. The sea serpent hollered in pain, fless and bone burning away.

The serpent thrashed as the water around it grew hot. Vizo and Rya moved away from the heat as Freppie pulled Dennis down.

"Are you okay?" Freppie asked Denni. De mi nodded, her eyes glued into the sight of the serpent. It was quickly being devoured by the heat and strange glowing silver energies.

"He can do that?" Denni asked. Freppie turned to look as Aliza ushered Cayi away.

"This way. Let's not get hurt by the hot waters." Aliza commented.

"We should… move to." Freppie told Denni. Denni nodded, not putting up a fight to Freppie's suggestion.

"The beast is dead." Vizo reported to Rya. They didn't move far like the rest. They hovered maybe fifty feet away as Keng landed next to them. There was apparent exhaustion on his face as the energy around him sizzled the water around him.

"A serpent that size is usually a bad omen." Rya spoke plainly. Her arms were folded, laying on her breastplate as she watched the serpent slowly stop wirthing. "To think you killed it in one go. You must be a Savior."

Vizo and Rya both looked at the tired Keng. He was trying to catch his breath. The wisps on the dead serpent fluttered around waiting for their master to call them back home.

"You should be careful of spells like that, Savior." Vizo commented. "It could easily kill us and everything around it." Keng took in the sight of the environment. The rough path had been eaten away and heated to glass or some quartzite.

"Firepower like that just doesn't show up easily." Rya commented. "It may have eaten most of the sea serpent and surrounding areas, but it did make everything prettier."

"Yeah." Keng replied, exasperated. He lifted his hand and flicked the wisps over to him with a single motion. The wisps flew straight towards him.

A sea of stars flew across the watery space entering Keng's body. He let out a sigh of relief as the wisps continued to enter.

'Be the Light?' Keng tilted his head. 'What's that?'

[Unlocked: Savior Systems]

"The Savior System?" Keng whispered. "What's that?" Rya and Vizo looked at the Fox Spirit as he flicked his finger in the air. To Keng, he was fixated on his System screen while Rya and Vizo watched confused.

The Savior System turned out to be what the actual System was called. The AI he talked to was apparently a part of that System, born from Lee Seng's Biohuman abilities. Although Keng didn't really understand why he had it, it reflected Lee Seng and Keng as a part of the System's behavior.

The Savior System ended up opening up something similar to a class in the end. It was his Savior abilities all filed out for him to see. It was listed under Job. Anything Light and Savior related was in here.

[Job: Savior]

[Rank: Leader]

[Job Specific Skills:

Detect Curse, Identify Curse, Remove Curse*]

[Magic: Light]

"Identifying and understanding curses can boost your ability to accurately identify a curse and remove it." Keng read aloud. "So learning Curses is a good thing… Why did it wait until now to show me this?"

Rya and Vizo gave each other similar looks. Rya was the first to break the awkward silence Keng had put on them after simply looking like he was somewhere else.

"We should continue after them." Rya spoke up. She turned to look at the others who were slowly coming towards them. "They're down there. The sea serpent was blocking the way. Now that it's dead, we can continue forward."

"Ready to go?" Vizo asked. Keng turned his attention onto the others, nodding.

"Follow me." Rya motioned.

They moved past the warm water. The cold ocean had quickly turned the temperature warm. The group took a glance at the sea serpent. The disintegration ray had made it look nothing like a sea serpent. It simply looked like an odd hunk of cooked meat.

Rya and Vizo moved over the edge, turning to look at Freppie and the others.

"If you can't come, guard this area until we get back. We'll find your team and be back." Rya told Freppie. Freppie gulped as Aliza and Cayi moved to stand near their seniors.

"Well…" Freppie looked at Keng. He seemed to be in his own world, standing at the edge of the quartzite-sandstone.

"It's okay, Freppie. I can stay here with you!" Denni smiled. Despite his fear of the Void, he still felt conflicted about it all. Keng turned to him and smiled at him. It was a warm and genuine smile.

"We'll leave you two here then." Rya commented. Denni nodded as Freppie watched Keng wave and jump off the edge. The colorful cosmic energy wrapped around him, lighting the surrounding area around him as Rya and the others swam after him.

The cavern went on for centuries. It was no wonder why Rya blinked at Keng. He didn't even know he was marked by her either, at that. Rya had ordered Aliza to scout ahead and make sure there wasn't anything unexpected ahead now that the sea serpent wasn't blocking the way.

The dark waters and walls barely lit up as they descended. It was nothing but plain rock walls for the whole way. It wasn't until they had passed the area the sea serpent was blocking and had snaked through the winding paths that they finally got something. The conch went off.

"Pshhhh….! Ke-keep going! Pssh! Over there!" A distant male voice shouted.

"Ahhh!" Lily's voice screamed. Keng's expression grew wide.

"Lily!" The male voice shouted. Static covered and the conch died. Rya held the conch in her hands as the others surrounded it.

"It worked." Aliza was the first to break the silence.

"Does that mean we're close?" Cayi asked. Vizo and Rya's faces were full of worry. Rya clipped the conch onto her side and sighed. She had hoped they would get something, and they did, but she didn't think they would get something so… shocking.

"We're getting close. We should hurry and find them." Rya replied. Keng and the others nodded as Rya began to give orders. "Let's continue doing what we originally were doing. Aliza you take front. Everyone else follows."

"Can I help scout?" Keng asked. Rya looked at Keng, thinking about it. He had proven he was useful, but she knew his senses were filled by the pressure of water.

"Your senses aren't sharp down here. You may be quick and powerful, but you won't have time to alert us if you get ambushed. You should stay with us." Rya replied. She turned to look at Aliza. "Go."

Aliza nodded and swam off. Rya and the rest picked up speed as Keng lagged behind. Something about the way Lily was screaming made him nervous.

'Was the water pressure getting to her too?' Keng wondered. He sighed and shook his head. He would listen to Rya's orders. She was the one in charge.

The underwater pressure was something that made Keng normal, sense-wise. His hearing was.completely normal. He could use his sight well, but the dark waters made it hard for him to see in complete darkness.

He was nulled by the waters and Hydrosphere was thankfully giving him protection from the rest of what the waters had to offer him.

Keng followed behind the group for a while, contemplating if he should test his Energy Senses out, again. The first couple of times he did it, the pressure had made it distorted and weird. He could see things but they weren't like he was used to.

"I found something!" Aliza shouted. The small mermaid zoomed over to them and pointed in front of them. "Bodies. Loads of 'em!"

"Ally or enemy?" Vizo asked.

"Enemies. I think we've got a path! What's next, Leader? Should I continue forward?" Aliza asked.

'Feral bodies…' Rya thought to herself. 'If that's the case then we should be cautious.'

"Be careful." Rya nodded.

"When am I not?" Aliza cracked a smile. She turned around and zoomed back the way she came.

"Let's go." Rya ordered.

Aliza wasn't wrong when she said there were loads of bodies. Keng and the others could only watch in horror with the large amount of Ferals killed. Bodies stacked everywhere and Aliza was waving them over to a small entrance.

"What in Hydran happened here?" Vizo asked. "This certainly looks like the work of Trenni." Indentations of slash marks and holes were everywhere. The Ferals were torn asunder. Cayi seemed the most distressed about this. Battle was normal in these cases, but thai looked a bit too extreme for the young Merman. He turned and held a fist to his mouth as he gagged.
