Asura raised the black scimitar. Fiery energy billowed out of the scimitar as he lashed forward, swinging the blade straight for Keng's head. Lee Seng gritted his teeth and moved straight for Keng. Lee Seng's form shimmered. His human form falling away and being replaced with a black Dark Matter suit and seven gold and silver tails. He lifted his hand up to the blade, watching it connect.
"Ge fa ne!" A voice not of Lee Seng's shouted. A golden crest appeared, stopping Asura's attack in an instant. Asura pushed, watching the shield crack in an instant. "Fa ne laj!" The golden crest exploded, sending Asura backwards.
'What was that?' Lee Seng thought as he turned to look at Keng. Keng shook in his boots. A silver energy growing around him.
"We gotta go!" Lee Seng tried to pull Keng away.
"N-no… Do-don't defy him!" A strange voice came out of Keng's mouth. He looked up and Vox'su flashed before him. Lee Seng gasped, taking a step back as Asura's blade flew straight for Lee Seng.
"No!" The green haired woman shouted. A large earthen wall grew, blocking the attack.
"Dahlia! Enough!" The pale man turned to his sister. "Father's mad!" Dahlia blinked growing out of the earthen wall and pushing Asura back with a blast of energy. Asura slid back and smiled.
"You dare defy Father's orders?" Asura asked. His form began to flicker. A large ornate sword grew out of Asura's back. Dahlia's eyes widened.
"Godslayer… I thought you destroyed th—"
"Father told me to keep it in case of emergencies. Father! They don't follow any of your orders! We should punish them for their unfaithful loyalty!" Asura shouted as the sword flew up in the air. God King Dathro sighed as he watched the Godslayer land in front of him. "What do you say, Father? You can just make a new set of twins to take the sun. A new set that won't defy you!"
God King grew silent. The ornate sword brought back unwanted memories of the Elemental War.
"Lord Vox'su?" Lee Seng whispered. "Why are you—"
"Don't do anything to upset them, brother!" Vox'su looked at Lee Seng. "Don't do anything that will make him want to reset us! You know what happened the last time War broke out! He resetted Asura!"
'He what?' Lee Seng turned. The earthen wall stood in Lee Seng's way. He sighed and pushed his hand onto the rock. Lee Seng lit up in golden light, pushing through the earth and out the other side.
"You! You shouldn't be out here!" Dahlia warned Lee Seng. "The God King will not hesitate to take both of your souls."
"Didn't you want to take down my father?" Lee Seng asked.
"Who said you could talk?" Asura growled. He began to move when God King raised his hand.
"'Every path leads to death.' That's what they said. Is it true? Am I some puppet you can discard whenever you want?" Lee Seng asked. Golden light swirled around him. It poured into the black skintight suit. A semi-translucent crown grew on Lee Seng's head as he kept his eyes on the God King. "You'll just do what you normally do, God King? Anyone defies you, you'll kill and reset? Just like you did with Lord Asura?"
"You little shit!" Asura lashed forward, flying straight for Lee Seng. Hydran turned, exploding into water. The water rushed straight for Asura, turning his legs into stone. Hydran swirled around Asura, growing larger and larger as a watery apparition of herself formed in front of Asura.
"Father! You know the day has come! You promised!" Hydran shouted. "You promised you wouldn't do it again! Does the affairs of what Rox'su and Vox'su do really concern you? Do you think they do this to defy you?"
God King stayed silent. There wasn't much information Lee Seng could take from him. The gods were finickiness. They had personalities and held their own purpose well. God King was the amalgamation of all of them together. He was the God King that represented Daros.
"Enough. All of you." God King motioned. Hydran reluctantly pulled back, standing a couple feet away from Asura as the stone in his legs melted. Asura sneered as he lowered the scimitar. He glared past his sister and onto Lee Seng. The earthen wall fell, revealing the scared Keng-Vox'su.
'What's even happening?' Lee Seng wondered. He began to look back at Keng when God King let out a sigh.
"The Fox Spirits are my own people. I created them at the beginning of time after I created all of you… To think I would meddle in the affairs of the Realms. The Weavers would be ashamed of me…" God King wiped his face and sat down. He waved at the Godslayer and watched it disappear. "Let's be civil about this… My temper… isn't the best. You all know this."
The goddesses loosened up a bit. Keng could feel the panicked energy slowly fade. He immediately looked up and moved to Lee Seng's side.
"Hydran, Dahlia… Are you going to continue to stand by what you said?" God King asked his daughters.
"With everything I have." Dahlia stepped forward. Hydran and the other elemental gods looked at her. The timid goddess answered first. Something unprecedented. "Father… You know I don't like to meddle in things but…" Dahlia looked over at Lee Seng and Keng. "Vox'su and Rox'su see something we don't see. 'An ill fate awaits for these two.' That's what they said, themselves! Should a Blessed Champion just be made to die? They are our people - our chosen! Rox'su and Vox'su have chosen these two to correct the wrongs of another Realm and to keep the peace in Daros!"
"What peace?" Asura scoffed. "Everything that is happening is because of those Earth people! Their Realm has a silent god who doesn't do anything! This wouldn't have happened if they kept their people in line! We're dealing with their mess! We shouldn't get invovled!"
"Asura has a point." Rox'su chuckled in Lee Seng's ear. Lee Seng turned and watched as the goldne form of Rox'su stood next to him. "That's why I like him. He's to the point, but always resorts to fighting."
"I don't resort to fighting you little pipsqueak!" Asura pointed.
"You can hear him?" Lee Seng turned.
"What do you mean?" Rox'su looked at Lee Seng. "You thought I was in your body? I'm not!"
"You casted a magical spell from my mouth with my body… I thought—"
"You didn't even explain it to them properly." Vox'su sighed, appearing next to Keng. "Father, Elder Brothers and Sisters… I'm really sorry we had to do this but… Earth's problem will be all of our problems… I-If we don't intervene Realms will surely break."
"Where'd you hear this?" The white haired man stepped out from behind the throne chair. He stood next to the God King with his arms crossed.
"Ves'ti…" Vox'su gulped. He looked down. "Well… The… I… I heard it from Fate."
"You heard it from Fate? You mean to tell me you defied Father's orders to not Realm cross, again?" Ves'ti raised his eyebrows.
"We're so close to Fate! It wouldn't be weird if we casually overheard something we shouldn't have!" Rox'su blurted out. "Fate is worried! That's why we gave these two our powers! They've proven themselves to be worthy! If we could just—" The God King's hand shot up and Rox'su stopped. He lowered his head, nervous of what his father would say.
"I understand you boys know things we don't understand… You work with the Paths of Fate. I understand that, but you need to understand if you intervene… Things will have to correct themselves." God King quietly warned the sun gods. "Look, I'm not against what you want to do. After clearing the anger from my soul and Lee Seng's obvious point about why I chose him… I think we don't have any other choices."
Lee Seng, Rox'su, Keng and Vox'su all looked up simultaneously. The elemental gods all looked at the God King in shock. It was like it was something left field.
"I know, I know. Shocking." God King waved his hand. The thundering storm clouds had stopped rumbling as a Fox Spirit stepped out of the shadows and offered God King a drink off a platter. The God King grabbed it and nodded at the Fox Spirit before returning his attention onto the two pairs of twins. He took a large sip of his drink and set the drink onto the arm of his chair.
"The other gods will be furious to here this development…" God King groaned. "But maybe this is a way the god from Earth is showing his way of help. Rox'su and Vox'su, you will be fully responsible to the outcomes of these boys. You're fueling them with your own energy so you should understand the stakes at hand here. If these two die, your energy will disperse into whatever Realm you're in and you will not be able to reform for at least a millennia. Knowing this, you still wish to support them?"
"Yes, God King." Rox'su and Vox'su spoke in unison. "We bet everything we have on these two."
"And you two…" God King looked at Lee Seng and Keng. "You two have had the fastest growth of any Fox Spirit I've seen in millennia… Coupled with the Lee Seng's situation, I'm sure you'll want to go back and find answers for them, no?" Lee Seng nodded. "Well… Before we do that, summon your friends. We'll tackle Hydran's problem first."
