The group sat around the large dining table, munching on their food. Some engaged in small talk while others yawned and sipped on their 'coffee' concoctions to wake up. Lee Seng's mind wandered. He spent a lot of his time thinking about what they would have to do today. He tried his best to create a 'to-do list' instead of lingering on the nightmare.
"Sleep, okay?" Ritsuka elbowed Lee Seng out of his thoughts. Lee Seng snapped out of it and nodded.
"Yeah… Slept alright." Lee Seng lied. He didn't want to tell everyone what happened before Lee Seng and Keng blipped out of their room and into the God King's area. Keng cleared his throat and looked at Lee Seng. The two gave each other a nod before looking at everyone else.
"Well, uh, there's some news I have to share with y'all…" Keng scratched his neck. The entire table grew quiet as they looked over to Keng. "It's about yesterday… Lee Seng and I both lit up in beams of light… We came to find out the God King was mad at us and… our patron gods, Rox'su and Vox'su… Basically Lord Rox'su and Lord Vox'su made us into protectors of sorts… They changed Lee Seng and I's Fates and now we're being used to… Deal with the Earth problem."
"W-wait, you guys were summoned?" Lily asked.
"Th-that… That doesn't sound bad, right?" Liz asked. The group nodded and agreed with Liz's question.
"Not bad." They whispered.
"You came back alive, so I would assume everything's alright." Fae piped in. Lee Seng and Keng both shrugged.
"Debatable." They both said in unison.
"We have to go back with all of you to deal with the cup situation." Lee Seng continued. "We'll use the paper in Keng's pocket to send us back when we're ready."
"S-so soon? A-are you fine to even go?" Manny asked Lee Seng.
"His Fox form is back." Olivia pointed out. Lee Seng waved the tail behind him and smiled at it.
"It feels weird to have it back." Lee Seng turned back to face the group. "I feel fine now." The entire table wasn't satisfied with that answer. Knowing what happened yesterday, they all disagreed with Lee Seng.
"I don't believe it." Ritsuka shook his head.
"Same. You could do the same exact thing over again." Manny agreed.
"You should take it easy until then." Olivia added. They all agreed, leaving Lee Seng to dramatically grab his heart.
"It's fine." Keng patted Lee Seng on the back. "You'll be our eyes when we go to Limbo, anyways. We'll handle all the fighting if we run into anything." Lee Seng grabbed his cup and took a sip of it.
"Let's hop you don't run into anyone who knows me…" Lee Seng whispered.
"What?" Evan asked, turning an ear, and cupping it. Lee Seng set the cup down and shook his head.
"Who's all going?" Lee Seng switched subjects. "I assume the rookies are staying. Is Lily going to stay, too?" He turned and looked at Keng. Keng, in turn, looked at Lily for an answer.
"You've been somewhat operating under Zephyr for a while now, Lil. Do you wanna come along, too?"
"It'd be great to have an actual Observer on our team." Olivia agreed. "I'm technically not even that much of an Observer as it's all used offensively. Having someone who can use defensive AOE spells would be nice to have on the team."
"You can even cover for their asses." Liz pointed at all the boys. "they're too much to handle… I swear."
"Are you going or nah, Lily?" Keng asked.
"Mmm, I'm not sure if I should go. I've got these two to train while you two are gone." Lily motioned. "Plus, I have to go see Philip soon. I heard he's coming back from an excursion in Jurya."
"What's gonna happen with these two? Are they going with you?" Lee Seng asked.
"Dunno. That's another conversation."
"That settles it, then. Team Zephyr will just go." Manny nodded. "I guess that means we should eat enough to settle our stomachs."
After eating and packing some food, the group stood outside in front of the bottom steps. They all said their goodbyes to Lily and the two rookies and Keng lifted the paper and poured some energy into it. The paper ignited and a magical circle appeared around Keng and the gang, beaming them up into the air. The beam of light landed on the ground and the desert appeared around them. They were all in the God King's Oasis.
"Are we in the desert?" Evan asked. A gentle breeze blew past them. The group could smell a mixture of fire, herbs, and the ocean.
"What's that?" Liz turned towards the direction they were supposed to go towards.
"They're waiting." Keng motioned. "Let's go." Lee Seng and Keng led the way. The path was a straight path that eventually curved into some palm trees. The smells of fire, water, and herbs grew and with that, chatting.
"You'd think they come quicker." Asura complained. He sat in an obsidian chair while his sisters sat near the oasis with Rox'su and Vox'su. God King Dathro sat in his throne, patiently waiting while Ves'ti rested on a hammock. Lee Seng and Keng popped into the oasis with their friends taking in their surroundings. The gods all stopped what they were doing and turned to look at them. Manny, Evan, Liz, Olivia and Ritsuka's eyes grew wide as the immense energy of Asura poured out. Asura grinned and was the first to stand and make his way over to the group.
"Well, well, well. There you are! You made gods wait! Was it worth your sleep, sleeping beauties?" Asura asked. He stuck his face in Lee Seng's face and smiled.
"We should've slept longer." Lee Seng retorted. Asura's face soured. He began to say something when Ves'ti stepped in and pulled his brother back.
"Asura, don't bother them. They need to sleep to function like everyone else on this Realm." Ves'ti scolded his brother. "You could've left the Oasis until they came back."
"I want to get this over with." Asura grumbled. He folded his arms together as the rest of the Elemental gods and the twin gods stepped in between Asura and Ves'ti to greet them.
"Hello, children. I see you've brought your friends." Dahlia greeted them with a warm smile.
"Hello, m'lords and m'ladies." Keng bowed.
"He-hello." The rest of the group followed.
"I thought about coming right away, but everyone was sleeping, and Lee Seng looked exhausted."
"It's alright, dear." Hydran put a hand up. "We don't get together all that often, so it's nice to spend time with family. How's my wielder doing?"
"Alright." Keng bowed, again. Ro'su and Vox'su stepped out and moved to wave and greet each person. The two sun gods greeted each person by name and asked how they were doing. The group grew a bit uncomfortable as these two gods were closest in age and look to them.
"Rox'su. Vox'su. Don't be too friendly with the humans. They could backstab you!" Asura warned.
"They won't do such a thing! They're Lee Seng and Keng's friends! Why would they do that?" Rox'su replied. He chuckled as a loud pounding noise came from behind the gods.
"You've greeted everyone. Come, children. We have much to talk about with the cup." God King instructed. Lee Seng turned and waved for the group to follow.
"Who's that?" Liz asked Lee Seng.
"The God King." Lee Seng answered. They all moved to the oasis while the gods split and walked around the oasis and up onto the side where the God King sat.
"God King, hello." Keng bowed. The rest of the group bowed, and the God King nodded.
"Hello everyone. It seems this would be your first time seeing a god such as myself. I am God King Dathro, ruler and Father god of Daros. I've watched your little group for a while, and you all seem to be hardworking individuals. It's such a shame Earth has lost you." God King cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "I've brought you here today to ask for your help in recovering the cup that was stolen from the Merfolk. Lady Hydran, you may speak." He motioned to Hydran and Hydran gave a bow before stepping up past her siblings and father.
"I'm sorry this is how we meet, but my people are in desperate need of that cup." Hydran began. She lifted her hand and the oasis water lifted, showing an image of the cup. "It's a jeweled cup that has the ability to flow with the properties to heal anything. Get the cup and deal with the blight. After you do that, we shall permit you to handle the problem on Earth."
"The Earth problem?" Lee Seng looked at the others. "I thought it was the Deimon problem."
"It is…" Keng scratched his head. "It's more complicated than that…" Asura narrowed his eyes onto Lee Seng and chuckled.
"You really don't know what you did, huh?" Asura asked.
"I did… something?" Lee Seng asked. Asura took a step forward past his father and siblings and stood at the edge of the throne stairs.
"Because of you, Lee Seng Chang, your precious Earth Realm has been altered once again."
