Calis spun his trident in the air and slammed it on to the ground. Water and shadows pooled around him as a smile grew on his face.

"It is a nice day to fight!" Calis declared as his body lit up. Calis's form changed into his Merfolk form. He floated in the air as his eyes burned bright. "I'll open a path! Just run!" Evan rushed forward, slamming his shield into the lanky monster and turning into dust while Ritsuka pierced Obsidian Glass into a puppet.

Ritsuka and Evan turned and ran towards the mastermind behind all of this. Calis lifted his trident and threw it straight for the crooked creature. A blast of water and shadows flew, splitting in every direction from the trident. The crooked creature pulled four crooked monsters out of its billowing cloak and lifted them up into the direct path of the attack. The four lanky monsters disappeared and formed a black shield.

Calis clicked his tongue as he watched the split attacks curve and hit the sides of the large monster. The trident slammed straight into the shield, pushing against the shield. The large crooked monster went up in smoke as Ritsuka and Evan rushed forward.

"Boost me!" Ritsuka shouted. Evan slid as he turned and raised his shield. He lowered himself as Ritsuka jumped onto the shield. Evan began to push backwards, using the kinetic energy he had built up on Ritsuka.

"Let's go!" Evan shouted.

"Woo!"Ritsuka soared through the air as Obsidian Glass faded and was replaced with the Enchanted Bow. He pulled the string and watched as a string of information flickered across his sight. "Dragon Breath Drill!" Ritsuka released the arrow and watched as the arrow split into ten arrows. Each pulled into each other, spinning around the original one as heat sparked. The roar of a dragon shook the entire city as an apparition of a fiery dragon appeared.

The dragon released its breath onto the smoky area where the mastermind was and ignited the entire place in fire. The arrows slammed into one and enlarged, slamming against something and cracking whatever it hit.

"Foolish creatures! You think you can kill me!" The voice whispered into Lee Seng's ears. He gasped as his wound closed and immediately threw himself up into a sitting position and turned to watch. The smoke disappeared and was replaced with a strange purple haze.

Everyone could feel the sinister energy growing. Lee Seng pushed himself up onto his feet with a single blast as Keng grabbed Liz and pulled her over to Manny and Olivia in an instant.

'Let me enter you! Maybe we can both stop it together before it comes a threat!' Keng telepathically spoke to Lee Seng. Lee Seng nodded.

"Now!" Lee Seng shouted. Keng nodded and pushed himself into Lee Seng. The two fused into one and Lee Seng's form began fuller. Silver highlights grew as a set of silver tails appeared  behind him. Lee Seng blinked to Calis and clawed Evan and Ritsuka and yanked them back. Evan screeched as Lee Seng and gathered them to safety.

"What's going on?" Liz asked.

"Calis," Lee Seng's distorted voice spoke. Calis turned and instantly knew what was happening. Lee Seng and Keng were talking in unison. "Help me." Calis nodded and put a hand onto Lee Seng.

"Wh-what's happening? Why is that thing doing that?" Ritsuka asked.

"Stay behind us." Lee Seng and Keng spoke in unison. "We should've known it was cursed."

"What curse is it?" Lee Seng asked aloud.

"Curse of the Damned." Keng answered. "I should've known from the large birds you've seen before. They're from this thing."

"There were no birds, though!" Manny pointed out.

"Exactly." Lee Seng and Keng answered in unison. Lee Seng and Keng began to chant as the purple haze grew thicker. The large crooked monster began to split, revealing itself. Large birds exploded out of its body, shrinking its form. A chuckle grew as loud sounds of bones cracking into place was heard.

"Oh shit, that wasn't its last form!" Ritsuka asked.

"Come unto us and protect us all! Shield of Faith!" Lee Seng and Keng shouted in unison. The purple haze rushed outwards as the gold and silver light flew over the entire group. The entire field grew in purple haze as Lee Seng and Keng watched.

'Do you see them?' Keng asked. 'I can't pick them out in the haze.' Lee Seng's eyes moved quickly through the smoke. He could feel traces of energy everywhere!

'Whoever this is, is smart enough to block me from tracking them.' Lee Seng responded. A sharp blast of energy flew straight at the shield, shaking the shield. Lee Seng narrowed his eyes as he filtered the energy out. There was a condensed energy walking at them. It felt like a mixture of strange things.

Birds cawed as they slammed against the shield, turning to dust. Keng pulled Lee Seng' right hand up and began to scrawl while Lee Seng twirled Cthulu's Moon in his left hand.

"What do we do now?" Calis asked. "Do you have what you need to banish this curse?"

"This curse is straightforward." Keng answered finishing the last rune. "We burn this thing to bits!"

[Runeweave: Flaming Cyclone has been activated.] Keng slid his fingers across the runes, activating the rune s and pointing ahead of them. A flaming cyclones exploded out of their finger tips, pushing past the gold and silver barrier. The purple haze lit up like a fuse. The flames ate away at it before it could set off any explosions. The flaming cyclone pushed straight ahead towards the condensed energy Lee Seng had spotted.

"Do you think that'll stop me?" A male voice cackled. The flames pulled into the condensed energy and vanished leaving the group to see a lanky man with a long pointed hat that bent backwards. He wore all black and his eyes glowed with a vibrant purple. Feathers emanated off the lanky man as he craned his neck to the side. He licked his fingers and smiled as a purple rune grew on his face.

"Damned" it read. It looked like an upside down six and a tear fused together. Lee Seng and Keng gulped. Lee Seng's bad feeling was right. They had met the maker of the birds - the curse birds.

"A Deimon." Lee Seng and Keng whispered in unison.

"Oh, so you do know what I am! You're the first person I've come across to say what I am." The Deimon smiled. "All the people who've seen me died before knowing what I am… Unfortunately for all of you, I've just gotten a wonderful upgrade. Would you like to play with my birds?" The lanky man turned his cheek and pointed it up into the air. Large birds flew out of his cheek and he smiled.

The purple-eyed birds soared into the sky and surrounded the group. Lee Seng and the others looked up. The lanky man didn't move an inch.

"Well, I should at least relish this moment, hm?" The lanky Deimon asked. "I won't kill you right away! Get 'em!" The birds dived the group. Lee Seng and Keng watched as the shield glimmered, blocking the attack. The Deimon kept a brave smile and lifted a hand up and waved it. A dark energy fired off to the birds. The birds dive bombed the shield and shattered it in an instant.

Lee Seng and the group jumped away as the birds enlarged. They all dived for the nearest person. Hydrosphere appeared in Lee Seng's right hand and lifted it up into the air. A shield of water and light appeared, blocking the large bird. Lee Seng stabbed Cthulu's Moon into the bird and listened to the metal scrape on metal.

Keng pushed the bird away and Lee Seng backed off. Keng split from Lee Seng, removing the highlights of silver and the set of silver tails with it.

"This isn't good. They're like metal!" Lee Seng whispered. A large wing slammed down between Keng and Lee Seng, splitting them.

"Oh! Two in one!" The lanky Deimon chuckled. "It's my lucky day! Maybe you're the one I'm looking for!" A bolt of lightning flew out at the nearest bird. The bird deflected it as purple energy pulsed along its feathers. The bird retaliated with a rush, splitting Manny and Liz with Olivia. Ritsuka and Evan dodged out of the way, only to be hit head-on with two birds. The two bounced in different directions, sliding to a stop as two birds lifted up into the air and split for Evan and Ritsuka.

Calis rushed forward, summoning the trident into his hands as he went straight for the Deimon. The Deimon scoffed and shook his head.

"The birds aren't the scariest thing, y'know. Their master is." The lanky Deimons smiled. He lifted his hands and produced a cloth. He tightened it and watched as the trident came to a complete stop on the cloth. The lanky Deimon quickly wrapped his cloth onto the trident and swung Calis away.
