The armored monster pushed against the gravity pushing down onto it. Lee Seng increased it, quickly adjusting to the monster's strength. He would make it bow. The werewolf howled, shattering the ground and disappearing. It appeared behind Lee Seng, plunging its hand into Lee Seng's back. Lee Seng's eyes widened as blood spilled.
"Lee Seng!" Manny shrieked. He slammed his hands together and flew forwards. "Die!" Manny leapt into the air and summoned the large sword. He swung it straight down the werewolf's arm, slicing it as black tendrils exploded out of Lee Seng.
"Liv, are you okay?" Liz asked floating over to her.
"I-I'm fine, but… Where's Lee Seng?" Liv asked. Liz's eyes focused and noticed a black wisp warping behind Manny.
"What's that?" Liz pointed to the wisp. The black wisp warped and Lee Seng appeared out of it. He turned and pulled Manny backwards as Evan jumped backwards. The tendrils had a mind of their own and wouldn't be able to distinguish the difference between friend and foe.
"No!" Manny shrieked. "Let me go, Keng!" Lee Seng flipped Manny and grabbed onto him and pushed him behind him. "L-Lee…?" Tendrils erupted from the ground, attacking the werewolf and the suit of armor.
"Solarium…" Lee Seng whispered. Colorful wisps began to appear all around them as Evan moved over to Lee Seng and Manny. Lee Seng turned and swiped at the tendrils. The wisps fired beams, igniting the tendrils in colorful flames.
"But you—" Manny's voice shook. He put a hand on Lee Seng and pulled his attention away from battle. "You—"
"You think I would die that easily?" Lee Seng asked Manny. He pulled Manny's hand away from him and hovered one hand above the other. A multi-colored wisp appeared. "Keng, Calis, Liv, are you guys ready? We're going to hit them all at once with a multi-ranged attack."
"Yeah." Keng answered first.
"What're we doing?" Calis asked.
"Keng and Calis submerge them in water. Liz charge the water with your psionic lightning and I'll toss in this wisp to explode it." Lee Seng answered.
"Aren't we too close to the explosion then?" Evan asked. "We should retreat." Lee Seng nodded and looked at Manny.
"Let's go before its too late. Hopefully this is enough to get that asshole out of the suit of armor." Lee Seng motioned. Manny began to stutter as Evan moved to Manny and pulled him backwards.
"Go on three?" Keng asked.
"Three!" Calis shouted.
"God Weapon Art: Sphere of Hydran!" Keng threw an arm out, watching the water form around the tendril-y suit of armor and werewolf. Calis threw an hand out and formed another sphere of water around Keng's.
"Psionic Current!" Liz threw her hands out and watched lightning hit the water. Everything in the water began to shock as purple lightning coursed through the water. It arced out of the water and leapt back into it. "It's fully charged!"
Lee Seng turned and pulled a hand away from the other. The colorful wisp glowed brightly as he lifted it up towards the charged water ball.
"Solarium: Rainbow Fire." Lee Seng whispered before blowing into the wisp. A large blast of fire flew out of the wisp and rushed straight for the charged water. The suit of armor ripped itself off the tendrils and began to push out.
"It's getting out!" Liz shouted. Olivia pushed herself up and moved up a couple feet.
"You're too close to the danger zone!" Evan shouted, running after her.
"Hold him down!" Olivia shouted to Evan. She linked her fingers together and raised them straight at the werewolf and suit of armor. "Freeze!" Evan slid to a stop next to Olivia and raised his shield.
"Kinetic Hold!" A blast of shield energy flew outwards faster than the fire, freezing the creatures within his shield's view in place. Evan quickly moved in front of Olivia nad slammed his shield down. "Kinetic Barrier!" A large shield wall flew out, encasing the entire group as the multi-colored flames hit the bubble.
"Ah, shit!" Keng shouted appearing next to Calis. "Resonance Art: Sphere of Protection!" Keng whipped his right arm in the air and grabbed onto Calis and shut his eyes as glowing water flew around them.
The multi-colored fire touched the water and a loud explosion shook the entire area. Nearby buildings cracked and fell down as the rest of the group covered their heads. Evan grunted as he held the kinetic barrier up. He could feel the immense power of the explosion. Everyone was knocked off their feet, hitting the ground as it shook all around them.
The after-effects went on for quite some time. Lee Seng and the group lifted themselves off the ground and listened to the debris falling all around them. When it grew completely quiet to Lee Seng's ears. He looked for Evan.
"It's done." Lee Seng whispered.
"Be careful." Olivia warned them. Evan nodded and slowly lifted his hand up to the sky.
"Lee." Evan whispered. "Put a thin barrier up to catch the debris that didn't fall." Lee Seng nodded and did as he was told. When all was well, Evan released the barrier and they watched debris fall into Lee Seng's gravitational hold.
A couple buildings had completely crumbled. Two tall skyscraper buildings had been turned to nothing. Their eyes all went towards the armor and werewolf. Did they do it?
A pained cough snapped Lee Seng out of it. In seconds, Lee Seng was up and clearing a way towards the coughing. Lee Seng eventually found himself hovering above the lanky Deimon. His body was crushed and he was dying. The curse mark was flickering.
"Y-you… You managed to…" The lanky Deimon sucked in panicked breaths. "I-I… I didn't want this…" Lee Seng pulled the paper out and ignited it with energy. He lowered himself and hovered it above the Deimon's forehead.
"You know who I am, no?" Lee Seng asked. The Deimon weakly shook his head. "I'm a Perfect Singular. The one your people had to wipe a village for. Do you remember that?" The Deimon's eyes widened.
"Y-you! It was you! I… Agh!" The Deimon screeched in pain as Lee Seng pushed the paper down onto the Deimon's head. "Y-you've been hiding all the…these years? Ha… T-they'll find you… The Matron…. She'll find you… She and… he will… You'll have no choice to… join…"
"Silence." Lee Seng whispered in Fox tongue. A golden rune burned on top of the Deimon's lips. Lee Seng switched back to English for the Deimon. He wanted to scare the Deimon before his endless death cycle. "That's for me to deal with. You, on the other hand…" Lee Seng rested his hand on the lanky Deimon's crushed chest. "I'm afraid where you're going you won't die. I'm sure Lord Cain has plans for you—"
A ringing noise grew in Lee Seng's ears. He winced as he pulled his hands up to cover. The ringing noise was coming from the Deimon's chest. A black energy grew as tendrils began to squirm inside Lee Seng.
'Consume…' The voice called to Lee Seng. Lee Seng's mouth watered. He sucked in a breath and tried to shake off the feeling, but the voice only grew louder. He could hear her voice clearer. 'Consume!' Lee Seng plunged his hand into the Deimon's chest and pulled at the writhing energy. He pulled it out and raised it in the air.
It looked like cursed energy to Lee Seng. He studied it as the Deimon coughed. The paper grew brighter as his own blood fell from Lee Seng's hand onto his face. Runic script began to appear on the paper as the tendrils flew out of Lee Seng's body and snatched the cursed energy from Lee Seng and pulled it inside of him.
"Ah!" Lee Seng gasped. He stumbled backwards onto his butt as the Deimon howled. The Deimon lit up as a mercury portal appeared.
"Well, well, well…" Lord Cain stepped through the portal. "It seems you got it." He turned to look at Lee Seng and a smile grew on his face. "It seems like you've took something interesting." Team Zephyr watched as Lord Cain took no mind to them. They watched in horror as Lee Seng's body erupted in tendrils. The tendrils attempted to swipe at Lord Cain, but he paid them no mind. He moved forward and raised his hand above the Deimon.
"Thank you for giving me what I wanted. This one's been killing those who havne't been processed yet. You can keep what you found. You can come and go as you please, but what others do to you and your friends isn't my fault… Oh! I almost forgot!" Lord Cain absorbed the Deimon and plucked a piece of paper out from thin air.
"Your reward - the information you wanted! I have it all on here… Read it after you're done… changing." Lord Cain motioned. He turned and noticed Keng was running towards him. He frowned and handed the paper over to Keng. "I guess you'll hold it for him since… He can't. Good job, Team Zephyr. The god of Limbo and his court won't forget this. Good luck finding the Cup for the Merfolk."
"H-he knows?" Calis whispered. Lord Cain looked at Calis and smiled. Keng took the paper and Team Zephyr watched Lord Cain step back into the portal and disappear. Lee Seng howled as the tendrils pushed back into his body.
