Lee Seng pulled his hands away and inspected Olivia. She was healed at the expense of Lee Seng's heavy arms. He had healed Olivia over fifty-two times before her entire body was back into working shape. Lee Seng landed on his butt and let out a sigh of relief. He was thankful that Olivia wasn't too hurt.
Olivia tested her body out and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Lee Seng had spent the last twenty minutes healing her. She had watched Lee Seng's serious face grow a bit weary with each try.
"Let me… rest for a minute." Lee Seng's eyes were closing. His body slouched forward, almost falling onto Olivia. Olivia yelped as Lee Seng's body hit the ground. She knelt and checked Lee Seng's pulse. He was alive, still. His body felt stiff and harder than usual. A sure sign he was under the effects of his Negative.
"He's just out…" Olivia sighed. She straightened herself out and looked around. The flesh bubble had triggered some sort of reaction with the others. It had sent Olivia tumbling down into the sewers, trapping her. If it wasn't for Lee Seng, she would've died.
The rank smell of sewage and the yellow liquid made Olivia gag. She was, thankfully, clean of any nasty liquids, but it seemed like it was Lee Seng's doing. She looked over at him and noticed he had a couple wet spots on his clothes. Olivia tapped on her bracelet, twice. It opened comms and she couldn't hear anything.
"Hello?" Olivia called out. "Can anyone hear me? Hello?" She waited a couple of seconds and sighed. "Why isn't this thing working?" Olivia shook the bracelet and looked over to Lee Seng. "Someone should realize their comms are ringing and pick up…" She walked back to Lee Seng and sat down. There was no point in Olivia looking around. It would only leave Lee Seng exposed and the last thing she wanted, in this moment, was something attacking him.
The weight of the Negative was a strange welcome for Lee Seng. He sat up and noticed Olivia was drifting off to sleep. Her head bobbed as gravity pulled her forward a bit. She would correct this and slowly repeat the process again. Lee Seng found himself smiling and staring for too long.
"What're you doing?" Olivia asked. She didn't open her eyes, but it was enough to send Lee Seng into a panic.
"No-nothing. I thought you were sleeping." Lee Seng looked away. Olivia opened her eyes and yawned. She raised her head and looked at Lee Seng. She had caught him looking at her and found his embarrassed face quite… adorable. "I-if you're up and I'm okay, w-we should try getting out of here." Olivia nodded and stood up.
"Did you hear the comm device go off at all?" Olivia asked Lee Seng. He shook his head as he stood up. Olivia sighed and nodded. "This thing's supposed to allow us to talk to them, but they aren't picking up." She lifted her arm with the bracelet on and then set it back down at her side.
Lee Seng followed Olivia as she walked in a random direction. Lee Seng mapped the sewer tunnels in his head. He stopped when he couldn't detect what was above them. Olivia noticed a few seconds later and turned to look at him. He wore a puzzled face as he turned his head a couple of times.
"What?" Olivia asked.
"I… My seismic sense can't tell me what's happening above us. I-it's like it's blocked." Lee Seng told her. He stomped his foot on the ground and watched the map fill in his head. Tunnels snaking in every direction with broken ladders around them and manhole covers to the surface. When he tried to see past the manhole covers, he couldn't "see" anything. "Nothing… Strange."
Lee Seng snapped out of his 'spaced out' face and looked at Olivia.
"I think we should try to get out of here. Maybe if we see what's happening above, it could explain why I'm being physically blocked from seeing things." Lee Seng suggested. Olivia nodded and let Lee Seng lead the way. They moved down the sewer, turning once before Lee Seng pointed off in the distance. "There." Lee Seng and Olivia moved towards the exit, noticing the broken ladder.
"Why is it broken?" Olivia asked. The ladder looked crushed like someone deliberately did it. Lee Seng ignored it and looked at the manhole cover. He flicked a finger and watched the manhole cover shake. He flicked, again, and watched it shake, again.
"Why isn't it going?" Lee Seng asked himself. He lifted his hand and made a shoving motion. The manhole cover blew off, releasing yellow liquid. Olivia moved out of the way as Lee Seng was drenched in the yellow liquid. It reeked and Lee Seng gagged.
"Close it!" Olivia shouted. Lee Seng closed his fist, forcing the liquid to stay above them. He flicked his fist and pushed all the liquid off him. He coughed and shook his head in disgust.
"I think I'm gonna barf…" Lee Seng leaned over and puked. Olivia turned away and pinched her nose. She squeezed her eyes shut as tears ran down her cheeks. Lee Seng wiped his mouth and spat. He mumbled something Olivia couldn't quite hear. Olivia wiped her eyes which only resulted in stinging even more.
"Okay…" Olivia weakly spoke. "What do we do now?" Lee Seng kept his arm up to the manhole opening and turned to speak to Olivia. He spat, wiping his face, again.
"I… don't think we should go up… Whatever happened, must've flooded the area with…" Lee Seng began to gag. "That nasty stuff." Olivia agreed with him. It wouldn't do them any good if they tried to go up.
"Let's walk for a bit, hm?" Olivia motioned. She started walking when Lee Seng stepped in front of her. She turned her head away, trying to fight the feeling of wanting to puke.
"Can you close it? When I let go, it's going to pour in here. I'd rather not smell that the whole time."
"Too late." Olivia commented. "But sure." She stepped over and slowly reached out to the wall. She squeezed her eyes shut as she touched the wet wall. "Ew!" Olivia's energy lit up and moved up the wall. It moved to the manhole opening and began to create a thin layer of rock. The wall tore apart, bit by bit, until the thin layer grew to fit the manhole covering.
Olivia pulled away and looked at Lee Seng. She silently told him to release the hold and he lowered his hand. Nothing. They both let out a sigh of relief. The nasty yellow liquid ran down into the lower part of the sewage. The small amounts of sewage grew with the yellow liquid. Lee Seng covered his mouth as he gagged.
"Let's go." Lee Seng motioned. Olivia nodded and waited for Lee Seng to go before she did.
"Can't you clean yourself?" Olivia asked after a bit of walking. She kept her nose pinched and had about a ten-foot distance between her and Lee Seng. "You and Keng are the same, right? Can't you write a rune and clean yourself?"
"Oh yeah!" Lee Seng snapped his fingers. "I technically can do that now…" He lifted his finger into the air and scribbled something. A moment later, the rune appeared to look like soap bubbles and a sponge. Lee Seng swiped like Keng and watched as soaps and sponges appeared, scrubbing him. He yelped as he jumped around.
Olivia couldn't help but snicker while she watched this happen. Lee Seng quickly drew water and watched water fall on him. Lee Seng wiped his face and sighed in relief. He didn't smell or feel nasty anymore. He turned and looked at Olivia, whose mouth was slightly opened.
"W-what?" Lee Seng asked. Olivia blinked a couple of times. She was clearly not looking at him, but what appeared through his white t-shirt. Lee Seng looked down and immediately understood what she was looking at. He quickly wrote the rune for air and swiped it. Air blew around him, drying every inch of Lee Seng. He swiped, again, and felt dry.
He ran his fingers through his short hair, correcting it while giving nervous glances at Olivia. Her face was growing redder. She seemed to be in shock. Before Lee Seng could even try to say anything, Olivia snapped out of it and turned away. She raised her hands to cover her red cheeks.
"You want a clean?" Lee Seng asked.
"W-what do you mean?" Olivia stuttered. She covered herself like he had different intentions and Lee Seng shook his head quickly before turning away.
"N-not that… I-I'll use the runes and you can t-tell me when to stop and go… Just so we don't smell like bodily fluids." Lee Seng explained. Olivia turned further away and Lee Seng stuck his hands out. "I won't look at you at all! W-why would I try to be a pervert?!? I just don't want you to smell horrible like I did… That's all!"
"O-okay… I-I guess." Olivia answered after debating for a little bit. Lee Seng nodded and began to draw the soap and rune.
"H-here goes…"
