/ POINT 2L1A IS COMING UP
Lee Seng rubbed his eyes as they reached the next point. 2L2I was riddled with wolfmen, but 2L1A was quiet. The forest slowly opened up to a barren field. The harsh sun rose higher into the sky. Lee Seng wiped his forehead, stopping and taking a moment to look around with his energy.
'There isn't anything near that I should be worried about.' Lee Seng thought, pulling his energy back to him. He let out a sigh and noticed Manny was looking at him from the other side of the opening.
"Did you find anything?" Manny asked telepathically. Lee Seng shook his head. Manny nodded and turned. "Let's plant the flag and continue onwards." Everyone regrouped, watching Manny pull a tube out. He clicked the top and watched it extend. "Now we just put it in here and… done."
/ POINT 2L1A HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY SECURED. MOVE ONTO NEXT POINT.
"What's the next nearest point?" Liz asked. Olivia brought up the map, projecting it to the others. She zoomed out and zoomed moved over to 2L4I.
"2L4I is half a mile away from us. 4LJI is about two miles out." Olivia answered. "I think that settles our path." Olivia marked each point in order, finalizing the path.
/ POINT 2L4I HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS THE NEXT DESTINATION. POINT 2L4I IS 0.5 MILES FROM YOUR CURRENT LOCATION.
Olivia lowered her bracelet, pulling the map with her. Everyone watched as their mini maps updated.
"Alright, we should continue forward then, hm?" Manny asked the group. They all nodded and continued forward.
The path to point 2L4I quickly became riddled with jagged rock and high scaling walls. The twins took over, pulling the group along. The group zipped through the rocky landscape, eventually landing in a forest.
/ POINT 2L4I IS UP AHEAD. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
'It doesn't have to tell us every time…' Liz thought. The twins released their hold on the group, slowly moving forward as they both looked in opposite directions. Lee Seng pushed his energy outwards, feeling Keng's energy as the two searched.
'Anything?' Manny telepathically asked. Lee Seng and Keng's minds rang with loud noises. The two hissed in pain as they clutched their heads, pulling away.
"H-hey, are you okay?" Ritsuka asked running over to Keng.
"You fine?" Evan asked Lee Seng.
"Oh gods." Keng shook his head. "It was… so loud."
"What the hell was that?" Lee Seng asked. Evan shook Lee Seng, who slowly straightened himself out and nodded that he was fine.
"There's a lot of them here…" Keng shook his head, again. He stood up, tapping Ritsuka that he was fine. Ritsuka took a step back, giving Keng his space. Keng sucked in a breath, straightening himself out and looking over to Lee Seng. "Why do you look better than I do…?" Keng covered his mouth, letting out a burp.
"What's happening?" Manny asked Lee Seng and Keng.
"There's a lot of monster around here." Lee Seng answered. "Enough that I think we came across something powerful enough to notice us scouting with our energy." The group looked at each other.
"That doesn't sound good." Evan gulped.
"Do you think they'll come our way now?" Manny asked. Lee Seng sighed and massaged his forehead. He raised his head up to the sky, looking up to the semi-covered sky. The twins immediately snapped out of it, looking in opposite directions. "What?"
"Did you hear that?" Lee Seng asked Keng.
"Hear what?" Olivia asked, looking around.
"Yeah. It's coming from this way." Keng answered.
"No, it's this way." Lee Seng pointed. The two looked at each other, slowly realizing they were hearing two different things. "No way."
"What?" Manny asked. Lee Seng and Keng turned back. The quiet noises of running grew loud.
"Get ready." Keng told the group. "We need to leave right now!" Keng and Lee Seng turned in unison, grabbing Ritsuka and Evan. They rushed over to Manny and the girls setting Ritsuka and Evan down as silver and gold energy wrapped around the group.
"Now!" Lee Seng shouted. The two threw their hands together, forming a concentrated energy. A portal erupted between them as the others looked around. They could all hear the footsteps coming at them now. Lee Seng and Keng pulled in two different directions, stretching the portal.
"Counter!" A female voice shouted. The condensed portal energy fizzled immediately.
"What happened?!?" Olivia asked. Goblins rushed out from all sides.
"Fuck!" Lee Seng shouted.
"An observer?" Olivia whipped her head around. A tall woman with pale skin and bright red hovered in the air as goblins rushed at them. Olivia pulled her dagger out. The pale woman raised her hand, conjuring an orb. She began to speak into it. The goblins crashed into the group, forcing the fight to start.
Lee Seng threw a shield over the group, blocking the goblins as they swung.
"What do we do now?" Evan asked.
"Crap, she's attacking!" Olivia shouted. A large bolt of energy flew outwards, dissolving the shield in an instant.
"Again?" Lee Seng turned and looked at the pale woman. "Is she the one doing this?" The goblins jumped for the attack, watching as a blast of silver energy washed over the entire forest.
"Mass Possession." Keng whispered. The goblins all stopped and turned their heads to the nearest person. "Kill each other." The goblins swung at each other, cleaving and slicing each other to bits.
"What the hell… is going on?" Liz asked, moving into the middle of the group.
"I can't do anything else while this is going on." Keng winced. He squeezed his eyes shut, clutching at his chest as ragged breaths grew.
"What's wrong?" Ritsuka asked.
[Mass Possession - Possess a large group of enemies and give a simple command.]
"He possessed the entire goblin horde." Lee Seng answered. The Sun blade flashed in his hand as he turned his attention to the woman. "In the mean time, plow through the goblins and let's get the one behind all of this."
Lee Seng launched himself into the air, flying straight for the red hair Observer. The woman smiled as she wagged a finger in the air. Lee Seng's energy dissipated as she cackled.
"Cancel." The woman whispered. The goblins snapped out of the possession, shaking off the strange dream. Goblins screamed in pain, realizing what they had just done. "Kill them. Kill them all!" The woman cackled as Lee Seng blasted a beam of light at the woman. The woman evaporated into smoke as the beam of light flew past her.
Goblins rushed for the nearest person, raising their bloodied weapons as Goblins dropped to the floor. Goblins rushed for Lee Seng, swinging their weapons wildly as Lee Seng threw up a shield. He pushed the energy shield forwards, watching it explode and kill a large group of Goblins.
[8 Goblins have been slain!]
[4 Goblins have been slain!]
[2 Goblins have been slain!]
Lee Seng spun and blocked a crude axe, pushing the weapon away and slashing the goblin's neck. He jumped out of the way as a goblin slammed its club down onto the ground. Lee Seng blasted it, plunging his sword into another goblin.
[3 Goblins have been slain!]
[2 Goblins have been slain!]
[1 Goblin has been slain!]
Lee Seng blasted another small group of goblins, turning his attention to his group. Evan shoved another goblin away, throwing another wall up. Lee Seng swatted a goblin with his fist, plunging the Sun blade into the next goblin. Lee Seng pulled it out, swinging the sword straight for the next goblin. Wisps exploded outwards, devouring the goblin as he blasted a couple more goblins.
[4 Goblins have been slain!]
[2 Goblins have been slain!]
'There's no end to these goblins.' Lee Seng thought. 'Don't know when that observer is coming back either…' Lee Seng jumped up into the air, watching a bunch of goblins slam into the each other. 'Who would be behind all of these goblins?' Lee Seng's eyes scanned the area. A green aura appeared for a second before disappearing.
"It's behind Manny! Three or four hundred feet away!" Lee Seng shouted. "It disappeared, but it matches a similar energy to the goblins!"
"What're we gonna do?" Manny asked plunging the axe into the chest of a goblin. "Between the goblins and that observer woman, we won't be able to last long!"
"I'll find the green energy! Keep an eye out for the red hair woman and get her! She's disrupting any attempt to kill her or leave!" Lee Seng blasted away, gathering the attention of the ranged goblins, who shrieked at him. Arrows, fire, earth and ice flew at Lee Seng. Lee Seng bobbed and weaved through the ranged attacks, catching anything remotely close to him and tossing it back.
"Where are you?" Lee Seng whispered. Lee Seng whipped his head over to the side, noticing a growing energy. "What's that?" The energy billowed into a large flower, hiding the faint energy of the green energy he had just seen for a split second before. The flower rose to the sky, blooming its petals. Pollen began to float all around the forest. As soon as it touched a goblin, something strange began to happen.
[Notice: Strange energy effect is in place. Proceed with caution!]
