Chapter 203: Reinforcements
In that instant, Tabbris stabbed forward with his sword, right in the gap at the side of the Orc's chest plate.
Having done a successful strike, he almost wanted to celebrate, but then the sword stopped going further in, only creating a shallow stab wound.
Although it was a few centimeters deep, compared to the giant body of the Orc, it was quite insignificant. Tabbris almost wanted to cry, "Damn it, why do my opponents have to be so difficult to deal with these days?!"
Roar!
Time for whining was cut short as the Orc Elite became enraged and swung his weapon forward madly. He attacked aggressively like a mad dog, and Tabbris could only take evasive maneuvers to keep some distance and stay alive.
He already figured he couldn't deal with the Orc and could only waste his time, hoping his teammates would finish quickly and give him a hand.
Unfortunately, they didn't have it easy either. The Orcs were at least twice as strong and were much more aggressive in the fight, all while being unafraid of death.
They would even take a hit if it meant they could deal significant damage to the opponent in return. For that reason, the humans had to be extremely careful not to give them any opportunities.
Tabbris felt like crying. He could clearly see that help was not coming and so he could only run and jump around like a clown, avoiding the Orc and waste time.
He was getting tired already, but he, fortunately, had a few Stamina Potions that he got from the King's alchemists. They were still in the early production so they weren't the best quality, but he was more than happy to have them.
Tabbris drank the potion while dodging and doing acrobatics and almost choked on it!
"Quit jumping around! Graaah!" The Orc Elite was losing his patience with his opponent already. Simply chasing a target was no fun and he was sick of it.
Suddenly he stopped and looked across the battlefield to the next closest human warrior.
The man was called Ravian and was Tabbris' right-hand-man. He was currently entangled in a fight with an Orc Scout and was completely oblivious of the bloodthirsty yes looking at him.
"Don't you dare, beast! You are fighting with me!" Tabbris shouted and taunted the Orc by showing him his ass, "You want this? I'm still young and my meat is nice and juicy, come, take a bite if you can!"
Bamf!
Suddenly ice formed beneath the Orc's feet, making him fall unceremoniously.
"Riordian! You are finally here!" Tabbris shouted and ran to meet his cousin. The mage was standing on a wagon pulled by two horses, with opened barrels of water beside him.
"I'm not as fast as you guys, you should at least make a path for me," the guy answered nonchalantly and gathered a sphere of water for his next spell.
As a mage that mainly fought using Water and Ice spells, he needed to have the catalyst with him at all times. But they needed to bring supplies with them anyway so he traveled on the cart near his barrels of water.
The three warriors looked at the Orc at once and formed a triangle formation. Riordian and Tabbris started forming Ice Lances around themselves meanwhile Ravian prepared to attack with his longsword.
The Orc's eyes darted from one person to another, all while unable to have all three of them in his sights at once.
The Phoenix Knights were used to fighting monsters way stronger than themselves and their teamwork was impeccable.
Ravian went first, attacking with his longsword while hiding his body behind a shield. Then, when the Orc Elite tried to retaliate he would get pelted from the back by sharp Ice Lances.
If he tried to turn around and protect himself he would get stabbed in the leg or back by Ravian's sword or burned by Bottled Thunder. The Phoenix Knights loved using explosives and fire, after all.
It kind of came with the name.
The battle was nothing spectacular, far from it. The three were just slowly working the Orc, filling his body with shallow wounds and enraging him further. It was all part of the plan.
Sometime later, when the Orc Warrior Elite finally lost his mind from all the damage, a tiny bolt from a crossbow hit his neck.
Having reached his peak frenzy, the Orc simply abandoned the defense and rushed at Riordian who seemed the easiest target. Unfortunately for him, he barely did a few steps when the world started spinning and he stumbled forward like a drunkard after a long night in the bar.
"This is some good stuff, don't you think? The toxins of the Warg," Riordian said to the Orc, smiling thinly and mocking him with his gaze.
