C3 – Martial God Heavenly Technique

Chu Yangxiang was abruptly roused from his sleep by a searing pain that shot from his right hand up his arm and swiftly engulfed his entire body. Every inch of Chu Yangxiang’s skin and insides writhed with a pain that felt like tearing.

Gritting his teeth, Chu Yangxiang bolted out of the room.

In the palm of his hand, the Small Black Cauldron flickered with a dim black glow.

Unable to contain himself, Chu Yangxiang let out a low groan of agony. Every cell in his body seemed to be ripping apart, from his skin to his meridians, flesh, bones, marrow, and even his brain felt as if it were being sawed back and forth.

Chu Yangxiang remained silent, aware that the mysterious Small Cauldron was to blame.

Blood streamed from his lips, bitten in an effort to withstand the pain, yet the torment persisted.

Fifteen agonizing minutes later, the pain vanished.

A soothing warmth began to trickle from the center of Chu Yangxiang’s right hand, spreading up his arm. It was as if his limb were caressed by a gentle spring breeze, a comfort so profound it seemed surreal after such intense suffering.

This warmth permeated Chu Yangxiang’s entire being, leaving each cell feeling purified and translucent.

A greasy layer of grime emerged on Chu Yangxiang’s skin, accompanied by a suffocating stench emanating from his body.

His stomach gurgled noisily.

Chu Yangxiang was overcome with nausea, expelling viscous, foul substances. Multiple trips to the restroom were required before his stomach was finally purged of its impurities.

He plunged into a large wooden tub, vigorously scrubbing away the filth. It took several washes to cleanse himself thoroughly.

Once the ordeal was over, Chu Yangxiang noticed a pleasant scent wafting from his body, reminiscent of the pure fragrances of nature.

A continuous flow of liquid sprang from the root of Chu Yangxiang’s tongue, the mythical jade liquid. With this elixir, Chu Yangxiang could fortify his physique and prolong his life.

Chu Yangxiang immersed himself in a plethora of books at the private school, experiencing what seemed to be the legendary process of opening his meridians and purifying his marrow.

He felt an incredible lightness in both body and mind.

Could it be that his acquisition of the Small Black Cauldron was due to his fortune? Chu Yangxiang wondered. He decided to test the effectiveness of the cultivation method.

Chu Yangxiang applied the Eight Treasures Scrub to his body. It was then that he noticed all his external injuries had healed. His skin was now smoother and more delicate, with improved elasticity compared to before.

Settling into a cross-legged position, he silently recited the technique.

A faint red glow began to emanate from him, and subtle, fingernail-sized tortoise shell patterns emerged on his skin.

The Profound Qi from the surroundings slowly diffused throughout his body along these patterns.

Each area touched by the energy felt refreshingly cool. His body seemed to forge a natural connection with the earth.

The medicinal effects of the Eight Treasures Scrub had worn off.

Chu Yangxiang sighed deeply, “I’ve often heard that martial arts cultivation requires boundless resources. Today, I’ve seen the truth in that. Even though the Eight Treasures Scrub isn’t made from rare ingredients, it’s still beyond my means.”

Since the Martial God Heavenly Technique could absorb any kind of energy, he decided to experiment with the Profound Qi Pill.

He filled a wooden tub with clear water and added twenty Profound Qi Pills to it. Each pill was valued at one Xuanwu Silver Coin, which equated to half a year’s income for his family.

Chu Yangxiang sat in the tub, activating the Martial God Heavenly Technique.

A faint red tortoise shell pattern slowly formed on his body. The energy from the tub spread throughout his body following the pattern.

Over the course of one night, Chu Yangxiang used up fifty Profound Qi Pills. Sustaining the Martial God Heavenly Technique was far beyond his financial capacity.

His body glowed a fiery red.

He sensed his advancement to Profound Warrior One-star, yet it seemed as if there was no Profound Qi within him.
