C14 – South Bear Fist
Chu Yangxiang looked at Chu Guangxiang with a hint of apology.
Chu Guangxiang burst into a hearty laugh, “No worries, I’m all in.”
Chu Yangxiang joined in the laughter, “Great, win or lose, today’s spar will be a valuable learning experience. I want to pick up on some of your strengths.”
It was common knowledge that real combat was the quickest way to enhance one’s skills. At times, warriors could surpass their own limitations during battle and ascend to new, unforeseen heights. Hence, soldiers who led the charge on the frontiers often rose to the rank of Profound General.
Chu Yuexing’s eyes darkened with anger. He inwardly raged, “You fool, to feel compassion for this boy is unforgivable. Fail to complete the task I’ve assigned you, and you’ll answer to me!”
Chu Guangxiang’s fifty meridians pulsed energetically, winding across his body like serpents.
Assuming the stance of a tiger about to pounce, Chu Guangxiang exuded a ferocious energy. He resembled a tiger locking onto its prey, ready to charge.
The hunt of a tiger was marked by a blood-curdling scent and a chilling aura of death, often leaving its prey paralyzed and defenseless, soon to be dispatched by the tiger’s lethal bite.
Chu Guangxiang truly embodied the might of a tiger descending the mountain, his presence commanding and formidable. He lunged at Chu Yangxiang with a swift motion.
Like a tiger descending the mountain!
Chu Yangxiang mirrored the movement.
Yet, there was an inexplicable sense of solidity in his stance, as if drawing from the weight of the earth itself.
His nine meridians surged like serpents, his skin tinged with a hint of orange-red, reminiscent of undulating water.
Chu Mingxiang’s eyes bulged with disbelief. It was hard for him to fathom that Chu Yangxiang, who had been his equal in combat just a month prior, was now capable of standing toe-to-toe with a Profound Warrior Five-star without falling. The thought was staggering.
He resolved to foster a good relationship with Chu Yangxiang going forward.
It wasn’t just them; many Profound Warriors were also pondering this matter. Chu Yangxiang was receiving special attention from the Chu Family, a privilege not even the family head’s grandson had enjoyed.
Chu Xiaoxiang and Chu Tixiang were gripped by a cold fear. They couldn’t fathom how Chu Yangxiang had become so formidable, transforming from the poorest of the poor into a genius of the Chu Family.
What shocked them even more was that Chu Yangxiang was their adversary. Even if they weren’t outright enemies now, should he interfere with their father’s ascension to Patriarch in the future, they would inevitably become sworn enemies.
On the stage, with the exception of Chu Yuexing, the Chu Family officials were ecstatic about Chu Yangxiang’s performance. He was the family’s prized jewel, the beacon of hope for their rise to prominence. How perfect it would be if he could gain entry into the Pill Cauldron Divine Sect.
Chu Guangxiang was increasingly alarmed as the fight progressed. Typically, a Profound Warrior Five-star could exert a force of five hundred kilograms. Yet, after more than fifteen minutes of combat, clashing over forty times, he had managed only to suppress this young upstart, with no victory in sight.
What was happening? Was Chu Yangxiang receiving divine assistance?
With each exchange, Chu Yangxiang felt more and more enriched. He had believed his grasp of the South Bear Fist was sufficient, but now he realized the vast disparity between him and Chu Guangxiang. He absorbed every nuance of Chu Guangxiang’s technique as the battle raged on.
After over fifteen minutes, they had executed the South Bear Fist sequence more than a dozen times. With every move, Chu Yangxiang’s gains grew exponentially.
Then, as if something had broken, Chu Yangxiang’s body shuddered. He had never anticipated that his South Bear Fist would reach the Great Completion Stage.
