C21 – Chu Yangxiang Appeared

Chu Tianxiang was livid, his complexion turning a ghastly shade of iron blue. Having been injured by Tong Zetian, he was at a loss for words. He simply wasn’t on par with Tong Zetian, leaving no room for excuses. Yet, what Tong Zetian said next fueled Chu Tianxiang’s rage even further. “You claim I shattered your shoulder blade, and yet you accuse me of holding back?”

Chu Xiaoxiang entered the fray.

Tong Zetian used the same technique again, Flying Immortal, which was a direct affront to the Chu Family. It was as if he was saying that the Chu Family was so beneath him that he only needed to lift a single finger to defeat them.

The Chu Family members recognized the might and dominance of the Tong Family, but they hadn’t anticipated the Tong Family’s brazen disregard for decency, which was intolerable.

Chu Xiaoxiang met defeat.

With a shake of his head and a look of disappointment, Tong Zetian taunted, “You’re all too weak. Is everyone in the Chu Family useless? I promised that if anyone could withstand ten of my moves, I would reward them with the Chu Family itself.”

With those words, he slammed a bag onto the Chu Family’s table.

“Patriarch, does the Chu Family have any true young prodigies?”

His question struck like a resounding slap across the faces of the entire Chu Family, a blatant insult that crushed their dignity beneath his feet.

No one over the age of fifteen was allowed to compete, and those younger than fifteen stood no chance against Tong Zetian. The faces of the Chu Family members were etched with embarrassment.

Tong Zetian’s laughter boomed with unchecked arrogance. “Is there no one else willing to challenge me? If not, I’ll take my leave, and the Chu Family will be exposed as unworthy of its reputation.”

One after another, the Chu Family’s descendants stepped forward. “Grandfather, let me take the stage.”

“Grandfather, let me go up.”

“Allow me to teach him a lesson.”

“Grandfather, even in death, I cannot allow them to belittle our Chu Family.”

Chu Qingyong watched as the younger generation burned with fervent outrage. Though his own anger raged like a wildfire, he remained astute and shook his head. “Children, we concede. You are no match for the prodigy of the Tong Family.”

“Grandfather, just because we’re struggling doesn’t mean the Chu Family is out of options. Chu Yangxiang isn’t here; shall I go invite him?” Chu Tixiang respectfully inquired.

Tong Zetian burst into hearty laughter, “Chu Yangxiang is your family’s prodigy, isn’t he? Possessing a Grade 4 Talent is quite commendable. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been training for very long. Go on, I’ll be waiting for his arrival.”

“The outcome isn’t set in stone yet,” retorted the Disciples of Chu Family, clearly not ready to concede.

Shortly thereafter, Chu Tixiang returned to the hall with Chu Yangxiang in tow.

A month of dedicated cultivation had changed Chu Yangxiang; he was no longer the scrawny figure he once was, having grown taller, though he still stood half a head shorter than Chu Tixiang.

Upon entering the hall, Chu Yangxiang bowed to the Chu Family patriarch and the five elders, announcing, “Grandfather, I have arrived.”

“Tong Zetian, the Tong Family’s prodigy, has come to spar with us. He managed to injure Chu Tianxiang in two moves and Chu Xiaoxiang in four. Are you up for the challenge?” Chu Qingyong posed the question to Chu Yangxiang.

Chu Qingyong was well aware that Chu Yangxiang faced an uphill battle. With less time spent in cultivation and a Grade 4 Martial Dao Talent compared to Tong Zetian’s Grade Five Talent—and Tong Zetian’s martial skills honed to Perfection Stage—the odds were not in his favor. He sought Chu Yangxiang’s consent while also making clear the formidable nature of his adversary.

Chu Yangxiang’s gaze swept over Chu Tianxiang and Chu Xiaoxiang, his eyes fierce as he addressed Chu Qingyong, “Grandfather, if I am defeated by Tong Zetian within twenty moves, I shall take my own life.”

The People of Chu Family were buoyant with energy. Chu Yangxiang had instilled confidence in everyone from the Chu Family.

The Tong Family had started off with an air of superiority, then moved on to humiliating the Chu Family, and even injured two Disciples Of Chu Family. Tong Zetian’s grandiose claims were like relentless waves crashing against the spirits of the People of Chu Family, shredding their pride.

Everyone had thought their honor was irretrievable, but Chu Yangxiang’s move had rekindled their hope.

Tong Zetian’s complexion turned a ghastly pale. He had assumed that a single finger would be enough to disable Chu Yangxiang’s, given his brief cultivation time and significantly lesser strength.

Who would have guessed that his strength would match Tong Zetian’s? It’s no wonder the Chu Family claimed he possessed innate divine power.

Tong Zetian launched his second technique.

His finger morphed into a palm, stabbing towards Chu Yangxiang.

Many elders couldn’t help but nod in approval; Tong Zetian was undoubtedly a true prodigy.

His techniques were formidable, and his moves exuded a chilling lethality.

Such techniques were far from easy to counter; they were the swords of the soul, the embodiment of their Martial Dao Talent.

Chu Yangxiang’s palm soared high. Everyone sensed that Chu Yangxiang was akin to the Mighty God, his axe unleashed, descending in one mighty blow.

The clashing sounds of their exchange reverberated incessantly.

The crowd was profoundly stunned. They had believed that once Tong Zetian’s Martial Skill Stage reached Super Great Perfection, his martial skills would turn enigmatic and nearly impossible to withstand.

Even for a master, repelling Tong Zetian’s attacks would be a challenge.

Yet, Chu Yangxiang had triumphed, leveraging his sheer presence.

Chu Mingxiang kept a tally from the sidelines.

Many onlookers were captivated by their martial arts duel. Each move resonated with the crowd, stirring a sense of awe.

Mastery was one element, but presence was another.

Tong Zetian exuded a lethal intensity, seemingly intent on vanquishing his opponent in a single strike. In contrast, Chu Yangxiang’s attacks flowed with the unstoppable force of a mighty river.

Incredibly, they were evenly matched.

Tong Zetian was taken aback. Over the past year, he had been a formidable combatant, his skills honed to near perfection. He had emerged victorious in every encounter, his adversaries struggling to counter his Martial Skill at the Super Great Perfection level. He had not anticipated that Chu Yangxiang could stand toe-to-toe with him.

This was the true test of his martial spirit.

Chu Yangxiang was equally astonished. Despite wielding the Martial God Heavenly Technique, a Heaven Rank Cultivation Method, he found himself outmatched by Tong Zetian. It was a stark reminder that there was always someone greater.
