With his health now lower and his side bleeding Ezekiel turned to look at this rogue in shock.
The strange thing was that his blow had not taken as much health as the system showed.
Other players in the area knew that this was because of player killing protection.
A game from decades before had made this form of protection quite popular as it effectively prevented abuse towards other players who wished to escape.
In BLO if an attempt at player killing was done outside of a system recognized duel the damage would be halved until the other player responded with an attack of their own.
The issue with this came about when looking at anyone with large range strikes as they could unintentionally hit others in the area which player killer's exploited to abuse others.
Ezekiel was ready to respond with a strike of his own out of extreme anger but a gauntlet was placed between them.
"You know that you should not be trying to pk around dungeons you scumbag, either challenge Belial to a duel or leave!"
War God had intervened to apparently enforce some rule that Ezekiel was not aware of.
Since this was a rule he chose to let his hp recover before he would challenge the rogue to a duel.
The rogue however seemed very eager to just kill the mage who he seemed to view as an easy target.
"Mages take time to cast buddy, I know alllll the weaknesses of you little mage players."
He moved forward to strike once again and it seemed like no one was going to intervene again.
Even War God seemed to step back to watch what would happen.
The only other significant consequence was the message board where those who were victims of PK would send their recorded experiences of the incident to others with the ID of the player killer.
Player killing was normally frowned upon since it meant a player was taking advantage to get free gear others worked hard to obtain.
"Hey you ok there Belial?"
Turning back to see what was going on Ezekiel saw the demon player War God speaking to him.
"Oh, yeah im ok... is there a way i can get that guys item back to him? I mean its kinda trash but I don't need it."
War God was surprised by how open and surprisingly kind this player seemed to be, it didn't really match what she felt like a PK victim should say.
"Just leave it there, only the killer or the original owner is allowed to pick it up."
Ezekiel was suprised by this and nodded.
"Thats a weirdly good system, i need to head back to the auction house to get rid of the junk i got so goodbye."
As he was leaving Ezekiel got a notification which he checked on the way.
