It was impossible to focus, his blood was burning in his veins and he had to find... anything, anything to kill at all.
He needed a target to vent all of this burning energy on and he chose the slimes.
The problem with choosing the slimes was that they were very unfriendly enemies to physical fighters and he was feeling the burning urge to tear something apart by hand.
He found one slime that wasnt dangerously large and he lunged forward to slash it.
He roared like a beast and did not care that it somehow released a wave of mana from his body since he was so focused on tearing his way into this slime.
His mana covered claws were slashing through the dense slime like butter and the void enhanced shadow magic was easily burning further into its body.
As he felt his claws tearing this foe apart he only felt the burn grow, it wasn't enough!
Killing that slime did nothing but make his blood boil even further and the rest were slowly wobbling over so he rushed the group.
His frenzy bombs were tearing the enemy apart and his claws were slashing through them like giant test dummies.
He did not feel satisfied by the kills he got though, he only felt the burn get stronger until he felt something in him snap.
"ARGHHHHHHHH!"
He roared like a savage animal and the mana in his body flooded out like a river.
The mana had a deep black color and each creature began to burn with the consumption debuff.
He could feel something in his body was overstimulated, overwhelmed.
His body was not able to handle it.
His wings were glowing and the veins in his body pulsed with black energy while he struggled to reign is all back in.
His mana was flowing through his veins and his heart raced while the mana exiting his body in a haze made the area begin to darken.
"Grahhhh! DAMMIT!"
With one sudden burst he shot into the air with his burning wings spread wide.
He felt the itch to do something, anything.
The slimes were not enough.
Killing was not enough.
He finally found a strange creature that resembled a giant lizard that could easily slay the slimes when they mindlessly approached it.

When he saw this lizard he settled into a dive to attack it.
He had released his mana in such a dangerous way, he had also burned through a significant amount of his of his energy in his body.
'That was a mana overload, what the hell did he do to cause a mana overload!'
A mana overload was when the body was exceeding its natural mana capacity in a dangerous level, most classes had a way of temporarily increasing mana capacity but the limit was typically twice the maximum amount a person could contain.
If one were to suffer mana overload they had to start releasing mana at a slow and constant rate to safely end the effect.
One should never release their mana in one giant burst as it could cause harm to the mana veins so it was an incredibly dangerous way to end it, a method that had zero benefits and significant dangers.
She was very worried about him after watching him end the effect in such a dangerous way.
She caressed his cheek with affection and deep fear while checking his mana veins in his body.
The only problem was that she found no mana veins.
She saw that his body glowed with mana and he has mana infusing what looked like mana veins but there was no obvious shell to identify it.
'Did he shatter his mana veins!?'
This possibility would be unheard of but not outside of magicam theory.
She could not get answers without waking him though so she had to wait.

When Ezekiel woke up he felt incredibly sore and he couldn't move, he saw Lucretia at his side with her head resting on his chest.
For the first time he actually felt genuine care for her since he knew she had been the one to take him from the battlefield and apparently nurse him in his recovery back in the tent.
He checked his body and saw no damage so he figured the mana boiling in his body must have had an effect similar to a fever that make his body hurt.
He tried to raise his hand to wake her but he couldn't even lift it, he could barely twitch a finger.
He tried to go back to sleep and the way her breathing comforted him helped, though having so much pain in this body made it difficult.
He sighed and just sat there admiring the beauty of this woman that had chosen him, he knew it was simply his affinity that made her choose him but she had tried so hard to respect his boundaries and she had tried even harder to help him feel respected.
He may not love her like he would want to for a partner but he figured that if his emotions when he looked at her weren't enough to decide to try it with her then by his own standard no one should be in a relationship.
The thought of being with this woman and making her smile simply by existing genuinely made him happy so when he could move he would ask her about the courting process between devils.
When he felt himself fading into sleep he heard the giggle of a beautiful woman but he did not see Lucretia's mouth move nor was it her voice.
As he fell into slumber he saw his system notification talking about the origin again but he faded to quickly to care.

'Hm, my new descendant is quite reckless... to make his mana veins in this way without any knowledge of how to do so? I should thank that silly raven for granting him the skill to see mana in such a way.'
