Chapter 107: Quality Time

With the new knowledge about the fate of the human race being given out they continued to discuss the city.

Since they did not allow those from other races to live in the city he would be under heavy scrutiny when entering.

With the kingdom choosing the church as their side of this conflict they would also be unlikely to let a devil in, especially a male devil that had no escort.

It was normal procedure to have wards that would alert the guards to teleportation into their walls so teleporting in wasn't an option.

This meant the only options wouls be to somehow get him into the city by smuggling him in or by disguising him.

"Wait if they cam detect people that enter through teleportation wouldn't they be able to detect people entering from the gates? Wouldn't I get found immediately?"

Leya shook her head.

"No, detection wards are expensive and only the most wealthy of regions would put them in their capital city. Most likely they would have them at the gates of the castle but other than that? It is far to expensive to do so."

"Oh... wait why?"

"Well to make a ward detect individuals through the area and disregard things like flies going in and out every five seconds you must add more to the spell circle so that it only counts an individual once and blacklists certain things from the count so you don't get a list of entities in the hundreds of thousands."

"Do you really think that the count would be so high?"

She looked at him and sighed before looking at a space between two trees.

"You can make spell circles now yes? Make a spell circle here to try to detect me when I pass through them."

He nods and began to think of the best way to do this spell circle.

'If I use the rune for reading I could use it as detection while I set the rune for life which would make the spell circle into a rune for detecting life.'

He began to create the spell circle but then he remembered the point she made about flies.

'Well... I could connect the rune of removal to the rune of reading, if I am correct that would make the rune exclude the next rune I connect to it... but how do I made a rune for insects?'

Experimentation time!

He started by creating a line of runes that combined the shield and skin runes to indicate an exoskeleton before adding the life rune to the mix to create one whole rune combination that would indicate 'Exoskeletoned life' and when he tried it out he got the idea of a bug while reading it so he assumed it would be fine.

As he put the rune into his spell circle the circle shattered.

"What the hell!"

His second attempt at the spell circle was also a failure but when he tried to stabilize it by feeding it more mana the failure was catastrophic this time.

"Ok ok stop, you'll just hurt yourself without any guidance so you will have to talk to the queen about all of this when we get back."

He nods and wiped his face clean of the first that the explosion had sent flying.

When he entered the tent Ezekiel saw that the comfort aspects were being taken away by female demons.

"Ah welcome back darling, how did the hunt go?"

He looked around and sighed.

"I killed a territory king but the tent is to small to show it... actually the whole square is to small and it would probably freak people out."

"Oh? Your kill was that impressive eh?"

She stared at him with an unreadable expression before she giggled like a schoolgirl.

"You and a man... hmm what a delicious thought."

"....Huh?...."

"Well you said that it's not just women that you hate to get such treatment from so I assume that means you are not opposed to male company?"

She had a sly grin.

"Whoa, hey I didn't mean it that way I only meant that I hate it when anyone acts like my feelings don't matter but that applies to my feelings outside of relationships too!"

She giggled again and looked at his bag.

"Well I would not be opposed to that idea..."

"You do realize that you're being a hypocrite right? You hate the idea of other women looking at me but the idea of another man sharing a bed with me is exciting?"

She froze.

"You are... unhappy?"

"Well not really but you have to have known that you'd look pretty silly if you didn't hate it on both sides rather than just women."

She looked away with a frown.

"How do you think you'd feel of I tried to rip apart a man that tried to check you put but then asked you to get in bed with a woman?"

She turned back to look him in the eye with unwavering confidence.

"I would tie her up and do as my beloved asked.... my love for you is beyond my desire to possess you and it is normal for multiple women to desire the same man..."

"Whoa hey, a lot of people would disagree with that though! It's actually pretty weird to a lot of people."

She looked him up and down with a soft chuckle.

"Darling if you had been born in this world I think you would have multiple covens at your beck and call. You would sire hundreds of children, maybe thousands, before you chose to move on with me beside you... you would be powerful."

He felt a weird flutter in his chest but then he simply hugged her.

"I don't want to deal with entire covens of women."

She looked up at him with a smile.

"Let us make a deal my darling, you open your mind to a night with a man and I will open my mind to a night with a woman."

He scowled a bit and flicked her forehead.

"Could you go relieve yourself already? I don't know how long you've been pent up in here but you're acting like a damn teenage boy from my home."

She frowned and put her head on his chest. .net

"I am being serious, I cannot bear the number of children you deserve as quickly as I feel you should have them, you should be a powerful father of many young that you can feel pride in."

"I don't care about children right now because I am still courting you."

She developed a sad expression and began to pull away, he tried to hold her but she slipped out.

"I wish to honor you in the way my people would honor you and I wish to have the hundreds of children who looked like my beloved, so that when you are not here I will not be as lonely..."
