Chapter 974 Chapter 974 Jack and Alana
'Who are you?' The old soul answered with a question instead. There was no expression of surprise that could be perceived on either his face or words. This old soul had seen all that this world has to offer.
Thus, it would be a nigh impossible quest to astonish him in the first place.
"The system is the embodiment of the multiverse. You were reborn on this world because the multiverse has chosen you as the rightful owner of its vast eternal domains."
The system replied rather abundantly.
'I see now. Hmmm...' The old soul mused but no pleasure nor could satisfaction be seen on his baby face. He did not get even a tiny bit of joy from the good news at all.
This was an all-natural response for someone who got no reason to live anymore. This old soul vanquished all the gods in existence and bathed himself in their divine blood.
In doing so, he had lost his family, friends, masters, and even the very enemies that he had hated for countless trillions of years in his existence.
With no more goals to accomplish, the future looked quite bleak for this displaced old soul.
"..." A sudden curiosity came to mind and a small hope was kindled from out of nowhere.
"DING!"
"Detecting the host's will on creation..."
"Formulating a character sheet for the host to use."

'No. I shall let time takes its course. The simple life in this village can be refreshing to my weary soul.' Thus, this old existence decided to let natural things of the world stand unmolested.
And so the seasons changed and so did our very own protagonist.
He took his first baby steps at 1 month old, spoke his first words the next month after, write and read well in his 3rd month, and could move and converse like an adult human before his first birthday.
It was obvious to his parents' eyes that he was not a normal boy at all.
"I think we need to buy him more books, Jack." Alana whispered to her husband.
Both of them were silently looking at their 1 year old busy child who was reading a huge book that was even bigger than his own body. This image painted a funny scene indeed.
"More books?! We just bought him a dozen of them cursed books last week! And he needs even more of them now?!" Jack shouted in disbelief.
One should know that books were as expensive as steel swords in this day and age.
He has already spent a sizable chunk of his savings from his days in the mercenary just in this one year alone because of these big fucking books.
"Shhhh... Come here!" Alana gave a hard pinch unto her husband's side and literally dragged him out of the place.
She did not want their child to see them fighting out there where he could see them.
"You know our child is different from all the others. He's extremely smart. We can't be the reasons why he can't nurture this gift to its fullest. I won't let it.'
Alana said in a determined voice. This was her first born and she would give anything for him in this life.
"I know, Alana but those fucking books are not cheap. We can't keep on buying them forever." Jack replied while still scratching the hard pinch he received from earlier. It stung even now.
"We need to do something then. I could work in Pink Shade Garments starting tomorrow. I still know how to weave some c..."
Alana suggested but was not able to finish what she wanted to say.
"Absofuckinglutely not!" Jack huffed and puffed. He would not let Alana work another day in her life. That was his promise to her 2 years ago.
