Chapter 6 - Nightmares and Flowers

6 days have passed ever since that encounter with 2 scary strangers happened. Alexandra, for the past days, had nightmares about it, her head being slashed off instead of that rock. She would suddenly wake up, sweating and her heart beating rapidly, just like what she felt back then. She had the senses of a kid that's why she was easily scared and would cry easily and loudly. Aside from the rock being slashed behind her just by a motion of his fingers, the way he glared at her seems like he knows her and from what the boy, his companion, said made her more confused. She wasn't able to have the time to tell Diana, it was like, something was holding her back to do so. Was it her just being scared? Nonetheless, her days went back to normal as soon as the nightmares didn't bug her anymore.

Alexandra continued to do her usual thing. Read books, eat cake, sleep and pick flowers if she is in the mood to do so. And this afternoon, she was in the garden, walking around looking at flowers while she picked the beautiful ones. Most of them were roses and some were daisies, tulips, and carnations. She placed it all inside the basket she was holding and ran back to the picnic table where two baskets of different flowers were placed, some weren't picked from the garden but at the entrance of the palace, along the path, besides the lake and such. These flowers are commonly called 'wildflowers', meaning it was not intentionally seeded or planted and just grew.

Diana asked Daisy, the one who takes care of the garden, to place a few baskets at the picnic table where the young miss would usually sit to read a book or eat a cake because she might decide to pick flowers at either the garden or somewhere around the palace. Of course, the flowers at the garden are harmless, they were no Abyss, Fiora and such deadly yet attractive flowers. Diana would tell her that she needs to wear some sort of protection like gloves whenever she will pick flowers to prevent her hands from getting dirty or accidentally pricking her finger with a thorn of a flower especially when picking roses. However, the garden gloves were too big for her and Lilith, an expert at sewing, made her a pair of garden gloves that perfectly fitted her.

At the picnic table, Yulli was standing watching the young miss ran towards her direction carrying a basket of flowers. Alexandra showed a sweet smile to her and she spoke in her usual tone of voice, "Let's go! I want to put these flowers in a vase and place it inside my room!" Yulli nodded and smiled back at her before she took the 2 baskets of flowers at the picnic table. "Would you like me to teach you, young miss? I'm an expert at flower arranging." Yulli asked while they were walking back inside the palace. Of course, Alexandra already knew that Yulli was an expert at flower arranging because she was the one who arranged those flowers in the vase that was placed around the palace and it looked elegant, majestic and beautiful at Alexandra's eyes.

"Yes, please!" Alexandra replied. After a few minutes of walking to her room, they finally arrived in front of the wooden door. Yulli, even though she carried a basket at each of her hands, opened the door without no problem. Alexandra was small and would sometimes have a hard time reaching the knob of the door. They went inside and placed the baskets on top of the table that was a few feet away from the fireplace and was surrounded by 2 couches, one couch on each of the sides with a rug underneath. "Wait for me here, young miss. I will just get the materials needed." Yulli said and bowed first before she left the room. Alexandra sat on the couch at the right side and her feet dangled off the couch. The room became silent and she waited patiently for Yulli's return. After a few minutes of waiting, Yulli finally came back carrying two vases, one on each of her arms while her hands carried some things Alexandra doesn't know. She gently placed it down in front of her. "Shall we start, young miss?" She asked, a smile plastered on her face as always.

Aside from reading, eating, and picking flowers, Alexandra found a new hobby and maybe a talent of hers and that is flower arranging. She learned that Yulli's family runs a flower shop and her mother taught her how to arrange flowers. Yulli taught her some tips to be good at flower arranging. Although Yulli advised her not to focus at flower arranging too much because she was still 5-years-old, she understands that she was smart and a fast-learner but she can take things slow because she was still a kid. Yulli learned and became professional at flower arranging when she was 13 years old and it helped their family a lot when running their small business. Yulli was a florist before she became a maid of Alexandra.

By the time they finished arranging the flowers to be put on the vase, It was already 6 o'clock in the evening and it is almost time for Alexandra's dinner. Alexandra placed the vase on top of the small drawer beside the table and on the center of the table they are currently using. The room didn't look plain as before and the sweet scent of the flowers filled the room and Alexandra was satisfied. "It's time for your dinner, young miss. Let's go down the dining room, shall we?" Yulli said and Alexandra nodded as a reply and both of them left the room.

Yulli held her hand while they walked down the stairs heading towards the dining room to eat. On the table were several delicious-looking dishes that Alexandra liked. Delighted, she ran towards the chair on the end, where she should sit and was hoisted up by Yulli because she can't reach the chair. Alexandra happily ate the food that was served.

"Diana, carry me please," Alexandra asked while tugging Diana's long skirt while they were walking. "As you wish, young miss," Diana replied and carried her in her arms while they walked up the long stairs, heading back towards Alexandra's room. Every after dinner, Diana would dismiss the maid who is assigned to guard her for that day and she would be the one who will bring the young miss back to her room, to help her take a bath, change her clothes, brush her hair, tuck her in the bed, sing her a lullaby or tell her a story. They arrived at the room and Diana didn't notice that Alexandra fell asleep in her arms. She must be exhausted doing all those things today, she thought to herself. She decided to just change the young miss' clothes before she placed her on the bed and tuck her in.

The sight of her peacefully sleeping made her smile. She left the room quietly, being careful to not wake the young miss.
