Chapter 113 - A Day Before (1)

2 days went by before she even realized it. Somehow it just feels like yesterday her father just told her that he wants to announce her identity to everyone and she agreed to it. She slowly fluttered her eyes open and the white ceiling of her room greeted her like always. She was already used at seeing that ceiling every time she woke up from her sleep and the next thing would be Diana's face with a smile plastered on it.

"Good morning, young miss!" Diana greeted her cheerfully, her expression growing brighter as each second passed by. Alexandra sat up from her position as she greeted Diana back in a groggy and hoarse voice, "Good morning…" Alexandra rubbed her head and yawned right after as she looked around her room. The same as usual. "I have prepared the bath for you, you can come in now," Diana said and Alexandra nodded as a response before she got down her bed and slid her feet inside her slippers before she glided her feet across the room towards the bathroom. Diana quietly followed her from behind as she entered the bathroom.

So many things have happened in the past two days, some were good and some were bad.

The dried flower which was given to her by Daisy, Mari, and Yulli back during the celebration of the Winter Star has already bloomed just 2 days ago and when Diana told her about it as soon as she woke up, she immediately got down her bed and rushed to the balcony of her room, almost tripping and falling in the process since she just woke up.

Although she was feeling dizzy during that time, she still managed to arrive at the balcony without tripping and there she saw a beautiful flower which she never saw before. It was like twins, the other one was black and the other one was white. It has a similar appearance of a rose but much more alluring and enchanting. It wasn't the one she wished for but still, the flower was still beautiful and when Alexandra asked Diana about it, she just responded with: "I am really not that knowledgeable when it comes to flowers but I think that flower is a beautiful and rare one, young miss." to which Alexandra just responded with a smile and a nod before she ran towards the bathroom excited to take a bath and tell everyone about it.

She also told Christian about it and he was also amazed by what she told him. Then the next thing that happened, it was probably the worst. Since it is the first time that her father will introduce her to other people, she needs to make a good impression, so Grace, Hannah, and Risa trained her or something. They made her recall some things that they taught her before when it comes to manners and thankfully, Alexandra was still able to remember. They went easy on her since she was still a kid and pressuring her wouldn't do anything at all but just make her nervous and afraid for tomorrow.

Then the usual tutoring and such, since she already know some of their topics whenever he discussed, he would give her an activity to see if she learned everything about it and when she proved that she already did, they will move on to the next topic. And as they move on to the next topic, it will get harder and harder.

Harrison didn't visit her during that time but she was just okay with it, he might be busy doing some things at the academy or he probably didn't have the perfect time to visit her. Well, they could communicate through the mind but he might be doing something at the moment, so she never tried to do so. She will only communicate with him through that if he communicated with her first if he took the first step or something.

It felt very long as if it lasted for a week but it only lasted for two days. She felt so tired and lazy, she doesn't want to do anything at the moment. She just wants to lay down her bed and sleep for like a whole day, all of those happening in just two days was too much for her then tomorrow, she will be introduced to everyone in the Diamond Palace but Ferdinand will not come to teach her tomorrow which is actually a relief because if he did, that would stress her out so much. Maybe she would just space out during their session.

Why does it seem like she is slowly starting to get lazy as each day passed by? It was probably because there are so many things happening at once, she was used to just reading, walking around the garden while picking out flowers, arranging flowers, eating, sleeping, and talking with Harrison. It was way simpler than what is happening nowadays but she doesn't want to complain. This was her decision, the outcome of all of her decisions in her life. She shouldn't regret it, she just needs to believe that this was a good choice and this was the challenge.

--

Time skip to her afternoon tea party with her father.

Alexandra arrived at the Diamond Palace along with Carlos and they walked together towards the courtyard. The emperor, her father, might be waiting there already along with Christian. They need to hurry, being late for their tea party is no good.

They arrived at the place after what it seems like 20 minutes but actually 10 minutes. Alexandra walked towards her father and Carlos followed behind her before stepping a few steps away from her. Carlos was standing still beside Prince Christian's bodyguard, Gabriel and they just nodded at each other as a greeting just like what they usually do when seeing each other.

Alexandra and Christian's gazes met and they smile at each other. "Good afternoon, brother and papa!" She said in a cheerful tone of voice laced with happiness as she spoke. Christian's smile widened and he responded, "Good afternoon to you too, Alexandra. You looked rather happy and cheerful today, are you excited for tomorrow?" Christian asked in a gentle tone of voice which sounded pleasant and soothing to the ears. His voice was truly beautiful and it feels like it was cleansing your soul every time you hear him speak. The beauty of his voice which attracted her, not in a romantic way, but rather an admiration for how beautiful his voice is.

Christian would probably be a good singer if ever he wasn't born as a prince. I mean, his voice, just like what I said before, sounded like an angel. It sounds so gentle and warm, she thought to herself before she looked at her father who was looking down on her. He didn't speak and just responded with a hum just like what he usually does. She walked towards her seat and climbed up the chair to sit on top of it, the food was already served on the table and all that is left to do is to eat.

The aroma the cake emits wafted to her nose and it smelled sweet, her mouth watered just by the smell of it. The food smells tasty and delicious as always, to think that they were waiting for me here while this food was served in front of them yet it remained untouched as if they weren't even tempted to taste it, not even a little bit or just a pinch. "You can start eating now," Their father said before he took a sip from the cup of tea he was holding. Even the aroma of the tea her father was drinking wafted to her nose and it smelled sweet, the taste is probably sweet too since it smells like that, that is what she thought to herself.

She picked up the utensils she is going to use before she eats and Christian also did what Alexandra did. She took a bite from the slice of cake placed on top of the plate in front of her and bliss. The taste was so wonderful and powerful, it left quite an impact on her that even when she wasn't eating it anymore, she can still feel it. The taste lingered in her mouth for a long time before she took another slice, wanting more of it. Even Christian almost has the same reaction as hers but since he doesn't like sweets that much just like their eldest brother, his reaction was just rather a small and simple one.

His expression grew brighter and there was a sparkle in his eyes as if he was reading his favorite book. His eyes wide in surprise because of how tasty the food was even though it wasn't that sweet, it was the right amount for them to tell that this was perfect.

It melted inside their mouth and the taste stayed there for a long time. Somehow, she felt lucky to have a rich and powerful father but at the same, she doesn't because of what happened before, the one where he threatened her to take her life if she tried to lie to him. 'He might be thinking that human lives are just nothing and can be wasted at any time' was her thought when he threatened her but as you get to know him, he was actually kind yet strict who loves to protect his family and would do anything for them. Although he still hasn't shown it to her. But she's sure that he will, any time from now or probably later. (Not literally later, it might happen after a few events or so)
