Chapter 122 - Of Introductions and Excitement (5)

The man looked like he was in his 20s yet he looked good-looking. He was wearing glasses and there was a gentle expression plastered on his face and a faint smile across his lips. That gave him a gentle, kind, and bubbly demeanor as if he was telling her that he was a harmless person and she can trust her. He was wearing a uniform that was different from others and from the usual palace wizards. He wasn't wearing this huge cloak that covered their whole body but rather he was wearing a coat with a crest on his chest.

The man that is standing in front of Alexandra right now was the man who healed her knee when she first met Christian. Alexandra gulped as her eyes widened in surprise. That previous memory came back rushing inside her head as she stared at the man's gentle face.

(You can just skip this part since this was a flashback from before)

"Y-You're hurt!" Christian ran towards her and kneeled in front of her bleeding knee. He took out his handkerchief, "Please pardon me." He said and tied the handkerchief around her knee where the wound is. He stood up and pulled her arm, trying to help her stand up. He's helping me, isn't he? Alexandra's heartbeat slowly calmed as she let herself be carried upwards. He placed her arm around his shoulders. She wasn't able to resist or struggle, the impact she made with the ground was strong that her small arms felt like they broke and he was trying to help her.

"I'm taking you to our place, your knee is bleeding. Someone will treat you there." He said and helped Alexandra walked to a place where she doesn't know. After 10 minutes of walking, he was helping her as he walked since she had a wound on her leg.

It was actually a palace where he's taking her to. They went inside, her arm still around his small shoulders. This person is kind, very, very kind, to be honest. He immediately helped a stranger when he or she was injured without knowing that he or she might be a dangerous person, well, Alexandra wasn't dangerous, so it's fine. "I'm sorry but it will take us minutes to arrive in that room." Even though Alexandra doesn't know what room he is talking about, she nodded and roamed her eyes around. Is this person a noble? A royalty? A son of a duke? She kept asking herself, the place was huge, grand and it was even shining, however, it was quiet and their footsteps were the only she heard.

After a few minutes of walking or probably dragging her wounded right leg to that place. He opened the door and they went to bed. She let Alexandra sit down on the white bed, "Wait here, I'm calling someone who can heal your wound." He said and ran off. Alexandra was left alone, she realized that she's inside an unknown territory, it was the first time that she went somewhere outside the palace's range aside from the lake. Her arms didn't hurt anymore like earlier. "She's inside that room, please treat her wound, it seems like she tripped while wandering around." She heard the voice of the unknown boy who helped her. Alexandra remained still at her seat while she waited for them.

The boy with another man who looked like he was in her 20s came and he walked towards her with a worried look. "Please lift your leg with the wounded knee, so I can see it." He spoke in a gentle tone and Alexandra followed what he said. The man removed the handkerchief tied around her knee and she felt a sting when he was removing it. "It seems like you scraped it, nothing serious. I can easily heal it." He said after examining the wound closely and he held out his hands.

He placed it on top of the wound and Alexandra wondered what this man was going to do, she doubted him and she became nervous but then she suddenly felt a cool and relaxing feeling on her knee where his hand was placed and soon after, he removed his hand that was placed on top of her wound which was now gone and healed. Alexandra's eyes widened for a moment and stared at her knee looking for the wound earlier and she raised her head, to see the man talking with the boy who helped her before he walked away and left. That was the second person who used magic in front of her own eyes, the first person was Harrison. The unknown boy looked at her and showed a warm smile. "Let's go, I'm taking you back." His words confused her, does he know her? Where is he taking her back?

"Do you not recall me?" The man asked, interrupting her thoughts as she was pulled back to reality. The man looked quite dejected and sad, Alexandra immediately shook her head and responded in a cheerful tone. "No, no! I actually remember you. You were the one who healed my knee before, right? I believe that was the first time we saw each other since that was the first step I took a step inside the palace. You were actually amazing, healing my knee in just a few seconds!" Alexandra said, her face beaming with joy as she spoke. Her face had a bright expression and her eyes were sparkling as she spoke, it was like stars twinkling in the sky.

"I see, I am glad that you actually remembered me. Although our meeting was just short and I just did my duties back then, I remembered you and what you looked like. I think it was quite unusual back then on how a little girl like you without a knight was able to enter the area which was surrounded by walls and a huge gate with guards guarding outside. Then I realized that you were either a daughter of a noble who was visiting the palace or a person living in this area," The man said. This man is smart and sharp, she thought to herself.

Since Alexandra resembled the emperor and his wife, she also had the traits the Cowell Bloodline have. It was said that the empress died while giving birth but it wasn't said that the baby died along with her nor nobody said that it was a boy. However, the cause of the empress' death wasn't revealed to the public and was only kept secret in the palace. Only the people working there were the only ones who knew what and how the empress died.

Right after he met Alexandra, he was able to guess and learn what her identity was but he didn't see her again not until now. Alexandra didn't respond to what the man said and she just smiled at him, so he just continued what he was about to say. "To think that I will meet you here again. By the way, have I told you my name yet? If not, I am Rowan. I am this palace's healer, well there are also healers aside from that in this palace but I am the most intelligent and talented one among all of them. I am not showing off or something," The man said, the gentle expression on his face didn't fade away but his smile grew bigger and brighter.

"Nice to meet you, Rowan! I hope that I will be able to get along with you," Alexandra responded, smiling. Her eyes were closed as she smiled and she looked happy, she was glad that he wasn't afraid to talk or approach her. "May I ask how old you are, young miss?" Rowan asked her, smiling in return. "I am turning 8 this year," Alexandra responded.

"I see, you looked healthy and bright. I am glad," Rowan said. "If you may, can you guess how old am I, young miss?" Rowan added as if she was challenging her but the people who heard it had only one thought in their minds: Ah, here it is.

Rowan has the habit of asking people to ask what his age was and now, he was asking the daughter of the emperor to do that. Really, he had the nerve, Carlos thought to himself. He was also asked by him too when he first came to the palace as a knight which was 8 years ago when he was 10 years old. When he learned about what his real age was, he was shocked and confused. He was about to open his mouth to speak when Alexandra spoke before he was able to do so.

"You are actually 100 years old, right?" Alexandra asked. She sounded serious and the smile on her face didn't disappear nor was the smile on the man's face. "Close to that, I am actually 154 years old. Congratulations, you are the first person to guess that closely!" The man responded in a cheerful tone of voice. Christian wasn't shocked to hear how old was he since he told him that before at their first meeting, he also challenged him to guess it. Alexandra just smiled at him, mana and magic also determine the speed of how the person ages. You might look like a teenager when you are already 200 years old. She just learned about that recently when Ferdinand was teaching her.

So she was thinking about how old Harrison was, he might be 100 years old or what but since she only saw his adult form two times in just a short amount of time, she just can't guess what his age was. She recalled what he told her before: "Until I retrieve or restore all my mana back, I will grow old with you until then. Well, it's fun to be like this anyways, so I'll just grow old along with you,"

"Really, your bloodline is filled with intelligent people. Aside from that, you develop your brains rather fast. You may not have powerful magical abilities but you are far way intelligent and sharp," Rowan complimented Alexandra who was smiling widely. Finally, someone complimented me. It's not like Christian, Diana and, the other maids don't compliment her but it came from another person who isn't them. Harrison would compliment her but insult her afterward, he would sometimes sound like he's being sarcastic, joking, or he was forced to do so. "Thank you," Alexandra said.

"Now, now, Rowan, you are getting ahead of us again," A lady wearing a uniform similar to maid's approached them. She was actually beautiful and good-looking, her voice sounded cheerful and loud too but Alexandra doesn't hate it. The lady's eyes darted at Alexandra who was staring at her with a curious gaze asking her who she was. "Nice to meet you, young miss. I am Isabella, the head maid," She said while smiling at Alexandra widely. Her face beaming with joy.
