Chapter 126 - Visitors (1)

"So how did it go?" Diana asked after she tucked Alexandra in her bed after she took a bath, changed her clothes, and combed her hair. Alexandra spent almost half of her day at the Diamond Palace talking with the servants or people working in the palace, walking around without having any limitations with Christian, and read some books at the library right after when she was tired.

"It was fun. They were all friendly towards me and they didn't think that I am a bad person. I think I made a good impression and we immediately became close and comfortable with each other. Some of them like to read like me," Alexandra responded as she recalled what happened earlier. Isabella and Rowan was a fun duo, they love to joke around with each other, fight each other, and tease each other although they know what their limits are when they are doing that. You can easily get along with them since they have this bubbly, comfortable, vibrant, and friendly aura.

Although Isabella looked scary at first when she doesn't have a smile on her face. She looked stern and strict when she is not smiling, you will think of her as a strict tutor or teacher when she is not wearing a smile and her maid uniform. Well, she is the head maid of the palace after all. She needs to be strict and stern sometimes when she needs to, Alexandra thought to herself. Rowan looked wild, careless, and easy-going. He's blunt and straightforward. His words are sometimes insulting even when he is joking, he looked like he doesn't give a care about anything.

He was a healer and healers are rare in this world. To think that he was the one who healed her knee when she scraped it after she tripped inside the forest because of her carelessness and Christian brought her to him without realizing that they were actually siblings. Sometimes, she feels so dumb. Well, she met and talked with the head chef. He was the one who cooks their daily meals and does some other tasks in the kitchen. His name was Farlan. They also have a pastry chef and her name was Hazel. She was a skilled pastry chef and she was the one who made the cakes that she eats at the tea party with her father and sometimes, with Christian.

She was actually incredible, amazing, and beautiful. She was 2 years younger than Diana and she was gentle and calm. Unlike Isabella who is loud and cheerful but that is not a bad thing, to be honest. Alexandra was able to talk and get along with others too, they were only a few palace wizards at that time as most of them were doing their duties or mission given to them by either the Elders or the Royal Family. There were only 3 Palace Healers there too as some of them were also doing their duties and was way too busy.

But still, they are so many. It feels like Alexandra was getting dizzy as she tried to remember all of their names. There were more than 20 of them and they were wearing the same uniforms, they somehow looked alike to me, she thought to herself.

As Alexandra was deep in thought, thinking about so many things that she doesn't know why she is thinking about it in the middle of a conversation, Diana couldn't help but smile when she heard Alexandra's response to her question. Relief washed over her face and she let out a sigh of relief, "I am glad that you have fun, young miss. Did they all treat you well? They did, right?" Diana said. When Alexandra was gone and was at the Diamond Palace, she was thinking about so many possible scenarios or things that might happen to Alexandra.

She was worried that she might be uncomfortable there or the servants hate her or something even though she still hasn't done anything bad. She was worried about Alexandra and what might happen to her if she is nervous or afraid of talking with others since that would be her first time talking with someone other from them. And they were all people older than her, working in the palace, and such things. So when Alexandra returned with a huge grin across her face, her expression bright and cheerful, and her eyes sparkling and gleaming in joy, all of her problems vanished and there she thought that everything went well for the young miss.

"They treat me well and it looked like we all get along. I was laughing and smiling as I talked with them. Rowan and Isabella are actually funny and they looked like a cheerful duo. Rowan was actually that old and he was a skilled and amazing healer. Although he looked very young and he actually likes to challenge or ask someone what his age was at their first meeting. He also asked me and I answered then he said that I was the first one who was able to give him the answer which is near his age," Alexandra looked like a little girl telling her mother about what happened in her school and how the teacher complimented her for doing a good work in their classes.

Diana couldn't help but smile as she ruffled Alexandra's hair. "Is that so? I am really glad and proud of you, Alexandra. I hope that you will do well in the future too and remember that I will always be there to guide you. I promised that I will serve you until my last breath," Diana said and she kissed Alexandra's forehead. Alexandra let out a soft giggle before she glanced up at Diana who was smiling gently at her.

"Go to sleep, okay? You still have many things to do tomorrow. Besides, I know that you are tired already. Shall I sing you a lullaby or tell you a story?" Diana said as she caressed Alexandra's head, the expression on her face gentle and sweet. Her gaze was filled with warmth and love as she stared at Alexandra. Her voice sounded smooth and soothing to the ears.

"Lullaby," Alexandra responded and she smiled at Diana.

--

Two weeks have passed ever since Alexandra was first introduced to the servants or people working inside her father's palace. In that span of two weeks, she was able to become close with them as she talks with them almost every time she comes to visit especially during the afternoons where she will have her usual afternoon tea party with her father.

Well, now she has no limitations at whatever place she goes inside the palace and not getting afraid of being seen by others. The feeling of being free and being able to do whatever you want, Alexandra thought to herself and she let out a happy sigh. Carlos followed behind her as she climbed up the stairs. The atmosphere around them was bubbly and comforting. The only sound that was piercing through the silence was the sound of their footsteps. It wasn't that loud nor was it that silent, it was just a low and light sound yet they can still hear it.

They were heading towards her father's office just to pay a visit since Ferdinand wouldn't teach her today because something occurred in his family. Well, he already has a family so it must be something serious. Besides, she would finally be able to rest after studying non-stop every day and the lessons are getting harder as each day passed by. It would be good to have a break once in a while.

Moving on, in those two weeks, Harrison wasn't able to visit Alexandra. He was probably busy because of Elise. Ah, poor Harrison, Alexandra thought to herself. Although she tries to talk with him telepathy or something when she is bored or when she is not sleepy. But she refrains herself from doing it every day, she needs to think about what current state he might be in. He might be tired, stressed, exhausted, or something like that. Knowing him, just teaching someone and dealing with them every day was already tiring for him. Thankfully, he didn't grow tired of seeing her face or when they talk with each other although he would sometimes joke about it.

Well, she is busy too. Getting along with the people working inside the palace, studying and keeping up with the lessons or discussions with Ferdinand, reading, and bonding with her father and brother. Ah, I would hate it if a tutor like those etiquette teachers or something would come and teach me, that would just drain all of my energy, she thought to herself as they walked through the hallways. They are now heading towards that one giant door with a golden knob which was clearly her father's office. After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived in front of it and Alexandra smoothened out the wrinkles of her clothes first before she regained her composure.

Carlos looked and smiled at her in which she smiled back indicating that he is about to knock and Alexandra just let him be. Carlos knocked three times before he spoke. "Your highness, the young miss is here to visit you," Carlos said. Not longer than 3 seconds, they heard a voice coming from the inside. "Come in," They heard and Carlos held the golden knob before he twisted it and gently swung the door open. Slowly revealing what was inside for Alexandra to see. Her father was sitting on the chair behind his desk as always, why does it that he was always sitting on that chair every time she enters the office.

Well, it's not like he is here to play or something. There was a lesser pile of paper than before. That means, he only has a few more paper works to do unless something bad happened in the empire and his paper works would increase once again. Honestly, does he even rest or sleep? I always see him sitting, does he even take a walk outside and enjoy the peaceful weather? Knowing him, he's not that type of person so that would be impossible. She would see him sitting on that chair behind the desk inside his office, sitting on one of the chairs in the courtyard as he waited for her, or sitting on his throne in the throne room as he waited for someone to arrive.

Does his back hurt from sitting the whole day? Alexandra thought to herself and tried to recall a memory where she took a walk with her father. It was only when they were walking around the courtyard and he was carrying her. Well, some knight showed up and saw her but he disappeared afterward after delivering his message.

Alexandra shook those thoughts off for the moment and she walked towards her father before she greeted her with a grin plastered across her lips, "Good afternoon, papa!" She said in a cheerful voice and he stopped working. He glanced up and their gazes met, his gaze was still cold and sharp as usual but it's not that scary as before. "I thought Carlos told you that the tea party is canceled today," He said, his voice monotonous as always.

"Yes, I did, your highness. However, the young miss has insisted on coming to see you. She said that she got nothing to do and thinks that it would be better to accompany you as you work although she wouldn't disturb or distract you," Carlos responded. He was standing still beside Alexandra and his voice was filled with respect as he spoke. He sounded formal and polite. Who wouldn't be? He was talking to the emperor, one wrong move and he will be doomed.

"I see but I am not going to work for today. I probably still haven't told you what the reason was but someone is going to pay a visit," Alexandra's father said and he stood up from his seat. "But before that, I would like to take a walk. Lysander, give the remaining paper works to my assistant. I am going straight and greet them afterward," Alexander said as he stood up from his seat and walked towards Alexandra. He stopped in front of her.

"Let's go," He said. Wait, they are going to take a walk together? Well, that would be good for both of them since they rarely walk together since they would just sit as they eat cakes, sipping teas, and drink juices. Alexandra smiled at her father and nodded. Although she was curious on who is going to come and pay a visit.
