Chapter 186 - Important (3)

-- "The truth that you seek will be found in that book."

Those were the words that the lunatic said before he disappeared and distracted them with the spell that he used. It was what Klaus heard, clear and loud as he enhanced his hearing with magic. Aside from the war and such things that he mentioned before he escaped, that was also one thing that he was confused with. Klaus said that he was sure that he said that and it was loud and clear for him. Then what book is he talking about? He knows that it wasn't just a normal book that they can found in those local libraries or bookstores. It might be a sealed book and they need some sort of password just to reveal its hidden contents. There were some sealed books in this palace's library and it might be one of those.

However, what or how will they open it? He didn't say anything and just vanished afterward. That was frustrating, very frustrating.

He was in his office. He just had dinner with Alexandra and he told her that he will do his paperwork for an hour before he goes to his bedroom to sleep. Alexandra was doubtful, of course. She just let him be as he promised. Well, if he didn't, she'll hide all of his paperwork so that he wouldn't do anything and just get some sleep. Although Alexandra would always do it before in her previous life, doing multiple jobs and coming to work without sleep and acting normally as if it was nothing. She finds it incredible, to think that she would be able to do all of that without sleep in a week. But now, she can't even think normally when she doesn't get enough sleep. Was it because she was in a child's body and children get sleepy or tired easily?

Moving on, Alexander leaned back on his chair letting out a sigh as he stared at the number of papers stacked in front of him on top of his desk. Unlike yesterday, the amount of work that he needs to do has decreased but there were still many left. He could finish these all in a week without sleep just like what he usually does before however, Alexandra got angry and worried about his health. To think that somebody would worry about his health and scold him, it has been so long, huh, he thought to himself.

He heard a knock coming from the door and grabbed his attention. "Your highness, it's me, Klaus. May I enter?" He heard a familiar voice coming from the outside and he let out a sigh before he responded, "Come in," Was what he said and he leaned forward to the desk, continuing his work. He still has like 25 minutes left before he goes to his chambers just like what Alexandra wanted him to do. He heard the sound of the door opening and Klaus emerged out of the door, carrying a stack of papers in his hand. It would be bad if he tripped while walking and he is holding that, imagine all of those papers that will be scattered on the floor and how he will arrange it in its proper order. That would be a disaster. However, he walked and carried it with ease like it was nothing at all and as if he doesn't if that scattered all over the floor.

"I have finished all the paperwork that you have given me."

"Thank you, you can put them down on my desk."

Alexander said as he continued to do his paperwork, his voice low as he spoke. Klaus stared at the wooden desk in front of him, looking for an empty spot where he can place the paperwork that he has finished for him. However, his desk was filled with stacks of papers and some books, he couldn't just place it down or place it on top of a random stack, what if it gets mixed up?

"Your highness, there's no space left," He called out to him and he stood still on his position like a stone statue. The knight standing beside the table just watched the scene like it was a movie. Alexander lifted his head to look at Klaus, his hand stopping from its movement as he stared at him. He hummed and looked at the top of his desk and the papers on top of it. He was right, there was no space left. He let out a sigh before he responded, "Just place them on that table," He pointed at the table surrounded with couches near them. Klaus nodded his head and walked towards the table to place all the papers that he was holding down gently before he walked back to the previous spot that he was standing in.

"What is it, do you still have something to say?" Alexander asked not giving him a glance but he knew that he still hasn't left yet, he didn't hear the sound of the door open and close, that's why. Klaus cleared his throat before he spoke, "It's about what the man has said before he disappeared, about the book," Was what he said after he cleared his throat.

"What about it?"

"What should we do? Should we look for a book? But he didn't specify what kind of book that is."

"If it's a book that is telling us the truth about why our bloodline only has males, then I'm sure it's a sealed book but we don't know how we will open it. However, we are still going to look for it. The mystery about our bloodline, I want to know the truth about it."

"Then, are we going to look around for a sealed book?"

"I'm sure it's not just some simple sealed book. Almost all of the sealed books have the same appearances, a blank cover with nothing written on its spine and thin blank pages. It would be hard to look for it knowing that he didn't specify or completely describe it. Aside from that, we have multiple sealed books in the library."

"Are we still going to look for it?"

"Not yet besides, even if we got all of the sealed books in the world unless we don't know how to open it or reveal its contents, we won't know the truth."

"Understood, your highness. Then, shall I take half of your paperwork once again? There are still many left and doing all of that alone would take so much time," Klaus said as he eyed the stack of papers that seems like it was a forte on top of his desk. Alexander just shook his head before he opened his mouth to speak, "Go and take some rest first," Was what he said. Klaus hearing what the man in front of him said couldn't believe it, he blinked multiple times as he stared at him with shock written all over his face. There were multiple questions inside his head and he wanted to ask the emperor that. This is the first time he told him to get some rest and didn't give him another set of work after finishing the previous one. What made him change his mind?

It seems like Alexander read and heard his thoughts when he spoke once again and answered all of the questions inside his head, "I am not doing this because I changed my nature or something. That daughter of mine threatened me that she will take all of my paperwork away and hide it even though I know that its impossible for her but she has multiple allies that she can use. Her personal knight, her maid, Sir Friyedor, and the people working in this palace. Especially Sir Friyedor, nothing is impossible for him and he might do anything just to annoy me. Aside from that, Alexandra was really angry at me and I also promised her. Well, she even told me to tell you to take some rest," Alexander responded, recalling what happened earlier while they were having their afternoon tea party.

Ah, it was his daughter that told him that. To think that the emperor has such a kind, gentle, and caring yet a scary daughter. Scary enough to make him follow her, reminds me of his late wife who would storm in his office and scold him after seeing that he was still working, he thought to himself. He let out a sigh as he recalled all of those moments he has experienced and saw when the empress was still alive. Sometimes, he would get scolded by her because he kept on following the emperor's orders without thinking about his well-being and health. The nostalgia. The melancholy.

"I see. Then I wish you a good night and rest, your highness. I'll be taking my leave now. Blessings and Glory for the Queenilia Empire," Klaus said with a small smile graced on his lips before he turned around and left the office.

He really wanted to meet the young miss even if it's just a small glimpse of her.
