Chapter 200 - Flower of the Night (5)

Alexandra danced and swayed with her Brother, Calixander, as they were on the dance floor. There were also some people who were dancing and swaying with their partners but their heads were turned in their direction, watching them in awe. It's rare to see the prince being active in the ball especially dance with someone even when it's his birthday. It must be nice to have siblings who are good-looking and princes, was what most of them thought of inside their heads. Mainly girls as they looked at Alexandra with pure envy in their eyes.

"Are you having fun in this ball, Alexa?" Her brother asked her as he twirled her around, their hands which were intertwined with each other was held up high, above her head, his other hand behind his back as he watched her do a full elegant turn with her dress fluttering and swaying along with her. When she faced her once again, this is where she responded to his question as she placed her other hand on top of his shoulder while his hand which was behind him went to her waist and they continued dancing.

"Yes, since this is my first ball and all, I think I'm having more fun than what I have thought. Though I badly want to go to the buffet table and steal those sweets," Alexandra admitted and she let out a giggle in the end. I swear, she could smell the aroma those sweets emitted from far away. She roamed her eyes around the place, everything was bright and sparkling. The room was brightly lit with the huge chandelier hanging in the middle of the ceiling. Her father was seen talking with someone, his assistant and his personal knight was with him. Carlos, her knight, was at the table where her other brothers were staying at.

His lips slightly curved up, forming a small smile which was barely noticed but you can see how his expressions softened after he heard what she have said. Actually, he also wanted to do that but was restraining himself. Even though this ball was organized by his family, he couldn't just easily steal all of the foods and eat it all by himself.

Believe it or not, when it comes to sweets, he can eat a whole plate of it all by himself. He got a big appetite and loves to eat despite his appearance or personality. However, he controls himself when he is with somebody who he isn't close to or when he is in a public place. He's a prince after all.

"As far as I know, the leftover sweets would be stored in the kitchen. We can sneak in the kitchen during the night after this and eat all of it."

"Is that even possible?"

"If you are brave and sneaky enough, it is possible though I have never tried it before."

"Won't they wonder where it all went to? Won't we get in trouble when they learned that we ate all of it?"

"I'm sure they won't and if they did, it's not like they can do anything about it."

"Evil."

"So, are we going to do it or not?"

Alexandra grinned before she responded to him. "What do you think?" Was what she said and she made another full turn and swayed to the left with him right afterward. "So you're in. There's no backing out," He said and Alexandra just giggled and didn't say anything. She really does get along with her brother well though you can't easily tell it. When they talk about sweets, they seem to come to an agreement at almost everything like how Chocolate Cake is so good and goes well with a specific beverage.

She could feel the stares on her back as she swayed with her brother but she didn't mind that as she was having fun right now, minding them would just probably ruin her mood.

"They look pretty close."

"How lucky, I want to dance with the prince too."

"Cute, they look cute."

"This is the first time that I saw the prince dance with a girl but it's his sibling."

"Hmph, that girl is still a witch. She probably charmed them."

"Why would she even do that? They are siblings. There's no reason to charm or bewitch them."

"Whatever you say, I hate her. My guts are telling me that there is something wrong about her."

It seems like somebody is really against her and really hates her. Nevertheless, Alexandra just ignored all of those whispers in her background, it's not like everybody would immediately like her. She made one last turn and sway before she parted with her brother and bowed indicating that they already finished. Her brother turned around and walked on the opposite side of hers. He walked towards the direction of their father. Alexandra turned her heel around and walked towards the spot where Gilbert is, he didn't even move in that spot and just continued drinking juice while staring at somewhere. She was surrounded by many people who were chatting with each other and she has to say 'excuse me' multiple times as she passed through them.

As she was walking and making his way towards his direction, a person suddenly bumped into her as they didn't notice that she was there. They didn't even apologize and continued chatting merrily with their friends. She almost fell back to the ground but someone immediately grabbed her and prevented her from doing so. Alexandra had her head lowered and the person's arms were wrapped around her, she could tell that it was a man because of his arms and chest.

"Ah, I apologize," Alexandra said as the person who was holding her unwrapped his arms around her, and Alexandra fixed her dress and check if there were any wrinkles or damage though she just lightly bumped into him. As she was doing so, she heard the man spoke.

"Next time, be careful and look around your surroundings," Was what he said and her eyes widened when she heard that voice. It sounds so familiar in her ears and she could tell who is the owner of the voice, she jolted her head up but the man was already nowhere in her sight and she only saw people chattering and talking with their companions. She was all by herself. It's as if, he suddenly vanished into thin air just like he usually does.

Must be my imagination, she thought to herself and shrugged. She was probably just missing him to the point that she was starting to imagine and hear his voice. It's not like he would appear in this kind of events, you can't even drag him out of his dorm even when you wanted to. He doesn't fancy such events where there are so many people, what would he be doing in here anyway? There were multiple thoughts inside her head as she continued to walk towards Gilbert who finally noticed her.

"Alexa, you're done with dancing with Calix?"

"Yes, and we chatted with each other while doing so."

"What did you talk about?"

Alexandra just smiled at him and hummed before she responded, "It's a secret," She said. Of course, she just can't reveal what she talked about because that would be revealing what she was planning to do with her brother. She was excited at the thought of, sneaking in the kitchen just to eat all those sweets that were left. Gilbert just scrunched his forehead as he stared at her after hearing what she has said before he heaved out a sigh, "It feels like you two are planning something."

"Who knows," She said and shrugged. A hum escaped her lips.

Silence surrounded them for a few moments not until Alexandra spoke and asked him something, "By the way, did you see the person that caught me earlier? The one I bumped into or something?" Was what she asked him. It felt like it wasn't a product of her imagination. It felt real though she wasn't sure if that was him just because of his voice. It's impossible for Harrison to be here but what if he actually was? There is a slim chance that he might be.

However, that chance is too small and for it to happen, she has to be really lucky, it would be a miracle if that happened. Only noble families who were sent an invitation for this ball are able to come, they can let someone tag along who isn't part of their family. Well, there are also royalties who were from the other kingdoms this empire rules over but she didn't saw any Prince Julian.

"No, why do you ask?" As she was lost in her own thoughts, she heard her brother spoke which grabbed her attention and pull her out of her thoughts. Her mouth just shaped into a small 'o' as she nodded multiple times, "Nothing, I was just curious about who that person was since I didn't saw their face," She said before she looked ahead of her. She heard her brother hum as a response and she looked around the place, looking for two people who she didn't see when she arrived here.

"Where's Brother Chris and Brother Chan?"

"At the buffet table, they were hungry."

"The two of them together?"

"Well, their personal knights were with them but yes, they went together."

Alexandra could imagine them bickering as they were at the buffet table. Alexandra let out a sigh and walked away, she wasn't feeling tired or exhausted even after dancing with her brother for minutes. Rather she was feeling restless and she wants to walk around, probably because of what happened earlier. She heard her brother call out to her when he noticed that she was leaving, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to take a walk around."

"Young miss, let me—"

She interrupted what Carlos was about to say by turning her head towards his direction and smiling at him before she responded, "You don't have to follow me around. It won't be that long, I'm going to the buffet table since I'm feeling quite hungry," She said in a gentle tone of voice and Carlos doesn't have any choice but to just follow what she said though he was worried that someone might go talk to her face-to-face and start a fight with her. He knows that Alexandra would fight back and it would be bad if it becomes a huge mess, that would ruin Alexandra's image or reputation then people would hate her or something just because of that.

"Alright but—"

"Don't worry, I won't cause a scene. I'm just going to walk around and eat," Alexandra reassured him as if she read what was inside his mind. Before Carlos could response, she turned her head and continued walking while humming a happy tune of a random song.

--

Arriving at the buffet table filled with all kinds of food, she didn't saw her brothers there. They probably already returned, she thought to herself and shrugged, eyeing the sweets on the side and she walked towards it. A grin on her face as she licked her lips and her eyes sparkled and twinkled like stars on the night sky. The aroma the sweets emitted wafted to her nose and it felt like it was alluring her. I'm sure that there would still be some left, I am still going to continue my plan with Brother Calix, she thought to herself.

She picked up one glass of juice from the tray and she took the small circular plate with a slice of cake placed on top of it humming happily as she stared at it. She took one fork from its container before she turned around with a gleeful smiled plastered across her lips but she was greeted with someone, a female to be exact. Her arms were crossed and she was looking at her with pure disgust and hate on her face. There were two girls behind her, one looked at her the same way the girl looked at her while the other looks at her with worry written all over her face. It was like she was apologizing in advance about what is going to happen.

"Hey, you!"

Alexandra senses trouble.
