Chapter 208 - Something spectacular and unexpected (3)

"Let's talk," Alexandra said in a serious tone of voice as she looked at him still staring at the book that he was holding ever since she entered. She was thankful that he didn't decide to take out and scatter almost all of the books on her shelves on the ground because it would be troublesome tidying and returning everything. However, she doesn't recognize that book cover or title. With her legs crossed, she leaned back as she placed her hand on top of her thigh.

Harrison wasn't wearing his overcoat unlike earlier and just let it dangle over the couch instead of on his shoulders. Unusually, he flipped the page of the book to the next one as he hummed before he responded to her, not even giving her a look or a small glance.

"What are we going to talk about?"

"Are you seriously even asking that? You already know the answer."

"Oh, right."

Alexandra's eyebrows scrunched as she was irked by the attitude that he was showing her, he looked nonchalant and was still reading or staring at the book as if everything seemed normal to him. However, she was already used to that attitude or personality of his, him being inside her room was also normal for her but that wasn't what she was referring to. It's about what happened earlier, she got many questions to ask but it looks like he doesn't give a single care about it.

"At least look at me while we are talking. It looks like you're not even interested in talking at me at all."

"I am."

"I am what?"

"I may not look like it or not show it but I am always interested when it comes to talking with you."

This time, he looked at her in the eyes, a serious look on his face with his lips pursed into a thin line after he spoke. It looked like he isn't lying or joking at all. Alexandra was taken aback by what he suddenly said and was silent for a while before she cleared her throat and spoke, "W-What's with that?" Alexandra stuttered, her voice faltered before a pout was seen on her lips which only lasted for a few seconds when Harrison spoke, averting his gaze away from her and returning it to the book.

"You and that brother of yours are similar."

"Which one? I have four brothers, just to let you know."

"The tsundere one, the one who loves to collect things."

"Oh, Brother Chan."

Were they really that similar? What does he mean by similar anyways? Is it by the looks or the way that we act? She asked herself and just let out a sigh.

"I'm not a tsundere."

"Whatever you say," Harrison sighed before he let out a puff of breath as he sat up from his seat, placing the book down beside him before he crossed his legs and leaned his body forward, resting his chin down his palm which was being propped up by his elbows placed on top of his thigh. The serious look on his face earlier was replaced with a bored one before he opened his mouth to speak once again, making him look like a puppet talking as he did.

"What are we going to talk about? Oh, right, I already know. Then ask away."

"Why?"

"Why what? Complete your sentence or question because I wouldn't be able to understand it."

Alexandra rolled her eyes before she responded to him once again. "Why did you become a palace wizard under training? Did you not find the thing that you have been looking for in the academy then thought that it might be here?"

"That's one of the reasons, to be honest. Besides, do you not want me here? I still remember you getting angry because I didn't talk or pay you a visit for one whole month but now that I am here and we could see each other almost every day, you are still angry. I don't understand you at all."

"I am not angry."

"Yeah, yeah. Women say that but they really are."

"I swear, I am not angry and you speak as if you have multiple experiences with women in the past."

"Well, I have."

Alexandra's eyes widened and she gulped before averting her eyes and opened her mouth to ask him, "W-What kind of experiences?" As an adult inside a child's body, her thoughts are much more complicated and not so pure for a child. It would be a shame if I write it here. Well, since he is an adult who was taking on a child form or teen form deceiving everyone except for her, he probably had some experiences with women before. Harrison hummed as he went into a thinking pose before he responded to her.

"Like fighting and having an argument with them. Sometimes they would ask me questions like 'Am I pretty?' or 'Do you like me?' then I would answer bluntly and they would punch me in the face. I don't understand them at all, they ask me things and want me to respond truthfully and if I would, they would get angry," He made multiple hand gestures and actions as he spoke, letting out a sigh in the end.

Ah, this is entirely different from what she was thinking. However, she could imagine Harrison being approached by girls then being punched by them afterward. I don't know but I think that he deserves it, I don't pity him at all, she thought to herself and giving a thumbs-up to the women who punched him. Alexandra was about to say something when Harrison spoke once again, this time looking at her straight in the eye just like what he did earlier.

"But if you were to ask me that question, I think I would respond with a 'yes'. However, I won't tell you which question that is since there are two of it."

Once again, she was taken aback by what he said and decided to throw the pillow beside her at his face to which he effectively dodged due to his fast reflexes. "W-W-What are you saying?" Alexandra stuttered out, she was completely flustered by what he said.

"Just like that, when they don't punch me, they would throw something at me, mainly at my face. That's probably how I developed my reflexes and how I became fast when it comes to dodging at things being thrown at me."

"So your answer to their questions is a 'yes'?"

Harrison held the pillow in his hands while he stared at Alexandra, his eyes wide with wonder as he blinked multiple times. Alexandra was looking down on her fidgeting hands that were resting on top of her thighs, a pout seen on her lips with her eyebrows knitted.

"What are you saying? Of course, it's a 'no'. It would always be a 'no' though they might be pretty in other people's eyes, they don't look like that to me at all. I prefer the naïve and oblivious yet strong and courageous type," His voice faltered and faded in the end and Alexandra wasn't able to hear clearly what he said but she didn't mind it. She just hummed before lifting her head, her crumpled expression earlier was replaced with a bright one.

Harrison was amazed at how her expression and mood quickly changes.

"Anyways, we're straying further from our main topic. Since you are working here, does that mean I will see you every day?"

"That depends, if I would be able to escape or if I got nothing to do."

"You really do escape from everything, you know that you would be busier and you will have to do many things since you are a palace wizard under training. Knowing you, you hate being busy and having to do many work and tasks, why did you even become one in the first place? I mean, one of your reasons was that you might find the thing that you have been looking for here but what are your other reasons?" Harrison just stared at her and didn't say anything, making Alexandra uncomfortable as she waited for his response. He let out a sigh before he stood up from his seat, grabbing his coat in the process as he swung it over his shoulder though he was still holding it. He made his way towards her then he bent down to her eye level.

"You really are naïve."

Then he flicked her forehead, it wasn't hard or painful one nor was it just a simple and painless flick either, she felt pain.

Rubbing her forehead while narrowing her eyes at him, she spoke, "What do you mean?" Before he was able to respond, the door was abruptly swung open and Alexandra was startled but then she panicked because Harrison was still he—Where did he go? He was nowhere in her line of sight, there was no trace of him left behind as if he vanished into thin air or he was just a product of her imaginations. She looked around the room once again as the person who suddenly opened the door entered. She only knows one person who is brave enough to enter her room without knocking at all.

"What are you looking for?" She heard Chandler's voice. Alexandra hummed before she turned her head towards him, smiling with her eyes closed. "You should have knocked before you entered, Brother Chad. You startled me," Alexandra simply responded still smiling at him as she avoided and dodged his question.

"That's what I told him, not even Sir Carlos didn't have time to knock and tell you because he immediately opened it as soon as he arrived," Christian said and let out a sigh, even though he already told him about it multiple times, he still won't listen to him. Gilbert was also there standing behind them while reading a book. Somehow, Alexandra always sees the three of them together, what an unusual and weird trio, she thought to herself and just smiled.

Gilbert probably came because of the two of them, he knows that if they leave the two of them alone something might happen again. Their personal knights weren't here. Like them arguing with each other, throwing insults then they would suddenly battle each other or Chandler trying to prove to him that he can do a complicated spell then would end up making a crater on the ground that looked like a huge meteorite fell on it. Yes, that happened. Recently.

Somehow, Alexandra was amazed by how persistent and reckless Chandler is. It probably exceeds the category reckless.

"By the way, why are you three here?"

"Oh, I just got dragged or something by Chandler then Gilbert came with us because he was like worried that something might happen again."

Yeah, that's what she was thinking earlier.

"Well, I got something to tell you but first, I want to take a seat," Chandler said before he sat on the couch in front of her, the exact spot where Harrison sat earlier. "This seat is warm, it seems like someone just sat on it earlier before we entered," Chandler said as he took notice of the warmth that he felt underneath and there was even a book beside him. The one that Harrison was holding and staring at earlier.

That idiot!

"Well, y-yes. I was sitting there a few seconds before you entered," She was thankful that she was still able to lie in this situation without averting her gaze or stuttering that much though she did once. Gilbert stood behind the couch still reading and Christian also sat on the couch opposite from her, beside Chandler but the book was separating the two of them. Christian looked at it and asked her.

"Is this your book?"

"A-Ah, yes, just don't touch it. That is one of my favorite books and I don't like it when someone touches it."

"I see, I understand. I hate that person who would touch and scatter my books everywhere without even reading it."

"Are you talking about me?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

"You—"

"Stop, tell me why you are here before you two fight."

Chandler glared at Christian who had the same gentle look on his face but it looked like a mocking one for Chandler. "Right, you remember Harrison? Of course, you will, you two are friends after all. Well, I heard that he is working in this palace as a wizard under training."

Yes, I know. He was here earlier and left when you entered, Alexandra thought to herself.

"I bumped into him earlier."

"I see, you bum—Really?! Then what's the point of telling you this when you already know?" Chandler pouted and Alexandra giggled before she responded, "But I appreciate your efforts for coming here to tell or inform me about that."

"Ah, right, Alexa! When he heard that your friend is working here, he immediately ran around the palace looking for him! He looked like an idiot on loose, oh wait, he is already one."

"What did you say?"

"I said you're an idiot on loose earlier."

Then they started to bicker and argue once again before Gilbert stopped them both before it becomes bad and dragged them out of the room.
