Chapter 210 - Free and Lost (2)

"This is paradise in a café form," Alexandra said as she let out a delighted sigh while placing her right hand against her cheek as she tilted her head, her other hand was holding a spoon. There was a smile on her face, her eyes closed in the process, emitting a bright aura and it seems like flowers were blooming in her background. Alexandra was delighted as she took a bite from the cake that she was eating.

Their orders were already served on top of their table, there were a teapot and pitcher that has water inside along with 2 empty glasses and one glass of juice. Multiple types of desserts and sweets were seen and Alexandra's eyes sparkled as she stared at it. At least for now, I am going to eat as much as I want, she thought to herself. Their personal knights weren't standing behind them but rather sitting on the table near them with some food served on their table. Even when they are eating, their guards were still raised.

"The girl on the counter earlier is a noble lady, she is the daughter of a Marquis. Her name is Lisbeth from the Graycole Bloodline. Their family doesn't have that much influence. Her mother loves to bake and she was taught by her mother, this café was made for the two of them. She is usually assigned in the kitchen but the usual person who is assigned on the counter was absent because they were sick. Her father already retired from his position and let his eldest son take over. Her parents are on a vacation right now that's why they aren't here."

"You sure do know a lot about her, brother," Alexandra said as she brought to the spoon to her lips and ate the small slice of cake in it after she spoke. Her brother was holding one macaroon in his hand that has a bite on it already. The aroma coming from the sweets on top of their table wafted and tickled their nose, just by its aroma, she could tell that these are all delicious.

"That's because I asked someone to look into her background when I met her, she looks like an interesting person."

Is my brother's 'single' days going to end? Alexandra thought inside her head, her expression brightened and her smile widened and turned into a grin, her eyes closed in the process. She placed down her spoon and she intertwined her hands together, resting her elbow on top of the elbow while she rested her right cheek against her intertwined hands.

"Heeh~, is that so, brother?"

"Don't look at me like that, don't give me that kind of smile either."

"I'm just smiling, what's bad with it?"

"There is something behind that smile, I can feel it so stop."

Alexandra just giggled before she continued eating the plate of cake in front of her. Her brother already finished two plates in just like 10 minutes. She could still feel some people staring at them here as she ate which made her quite uncomfortable as she doesn't like it when somebody would stare at her while she is eating. Well, who wouldn't stare at them? Alexandra despite having a different appearance and clothing, still looked pretty as ever like a doll. Even without her silky and long platinum hair because it was hidden by a dark-colored wig, the left side of her hair was pinned by a butterfly hairpin. The same goes for his brother, it feels like nothing changed at all except for their appearance but they remained good-looking as ever.

Beautiful people are always beautiful no matter what happens.

That's what she always hears from Daisy (with sparkling eyes and such) when they would help her prepare and dress her up for an event. She was usually the one in charge when it comes to her face, like adding make-up and such. Honestly, she would just deny it at first then giggle as she wasn't used at being called beautiful since she was only normal-looking in her previous life but the more that she hears it and the more compliments she gets, she became used to it and started to think that she was actually beautiful and she should take care of her appearance and such.

Though she would sometimes stay up all night reading, thankfully, she doesn't get pimples and such since she heard that staying up late would give you pimples. But fatigue and eye bags would be clear in her face so Diana would still know that she stayed up late then scold her because of that.

"After this, where would you like to go? It's still too early to go back to the palace," Calixander initiated a conversation as he brought the teacup to his lips, taking a sip from it while he looked at her who was eating a cupcake in her hands. Alexandra thought for a moment as she chewed before she gulped it down her throat and responded to him, "I don't know, how about we walk around first? There might be something interesting from the stalls," Was what she said before she ate the last small piece of the cupcake in her hands chewing it for a few seconds and gulping it all down as she reached out to her glass of juice that was half empty before gulping it all down.

"That's fine by me. As far as I know, I spotted a toy store and bookstore around here."

"Then we'll visit the bookstore later."

"Right, I forgot that you aren't that type of girl who would like to have a bunny then sleep together with it."

"You are being oddly specific there," Alexandra responded before placing her empty glass of juice down as she continued eating again. Though she already ate so much, she still wasn't full and she still wants to eat but if she pushed herself too much and continued to eat, it would be hard to walk around.

"Brother Gil is going to graduate."

"Yes, what about it?"

"I was just thinking about what he would do after that. He wouldn't do any extra lessons and training like you since he isn't the one who will take the throne, he only likes to read and for him to go around to look for someone to marry is sort of impossible."

"Oh that, he said that he'll probably just become a wizard or something. He doesn't have any plans on getting married and most of the wizards aren't married. He might become a candidate to be an Elder but that also means that his training and lessons would be harsher than mine."

Right, even Sir Friyedor isn't married despite his age. It was said that wizards tend to freeze their hearts. Not literally freeze but more like stopping themselves from having feelings or emotions because that would greatly affect them, their magic and mana. Since it depends on your mana on how long you would live, wizards tend to live longer than normal people. If they have a family who is like completely normal and has a moderate amount of mana, it would be normal that they (their family) would die first even though they are the youngest. The same goes for having a lover or spouse.

Wizards have it hard, eh.

"I see, does father already know about it?"

"Not yet, he is still finding the right time to tell it to him."

"Would father get angry?"

"I'm sure he wouldn't. Even though he is strict, stern, and cold, if we would be happy with the decision that we made and if that is really the path that we want to take, he would just let us be and will support while guiding us."

Alexandra just hummed as a response before she placed the utensil that she was holding down, on top of the plate before she wiped her mouth with a tissue as she was already finished eating. Their table that was filled with plates that have different types of baked sweets and such are already gone and empty. With only the two of them, they ate it all.

--

"Thank you, I hope you enjoyed it all."

"I'll be coming back again when I am not busy."

"I'll be expecting you then, Sir Ruth. And also, if you are still planning to roam around, be careful."

"Why?"

Lisbeth and Calixander were still talking with each other. She was still behind the counter while they were in front of her, they don't have to worry about making anyone wait as nobody was behind them who is about to order. Lisbeth leaned forward and pulled Calixander by the sleeve before whispering to his ear as if what she is going to say is something really confidential that only they should know.

"Kids around her age started to disappear during this week, some of them are nobles. This matter was still being kept as a secret and only a few know about what's happening right now, one of our staff's sibling disappeared a few days ago. Keep an eye on her and raise your guard."

"I see, thank you for informing me," Calixander nodded before he pulled away and slightly bowed his head before turning around and walked.

That was the first time that he heard about that matter. I guess it was because it was being kept as a secret and it was just happening recently. Even though she didn't tell him about that, his guard would still be raised as well as the knights with them because they are outside after all. All sorts of possible scenarios could happen outside the palace wall that's why it would be best if they should have stayed inside but that's suffocating, being inside and not going out at all.

I will report this matter to my father when we come back, he thought to himself.

--

Alexandra and Calixander were walking around, passing by multiple people and stalls. The sound of their noisy chatters and loud voices rang inside their ears but they didn't mind as there were many people than she thought here. Again, she felt that intense stare as she walked around but that feeling would disappear afterward. It feels like someone was playing with her or something.

Alexandra looked around hoping that her eye would catch something interesting, probably some sort of accessory or a book on display. However, they have been walking around for so long and she still hasn't found anything interesting.

Alexandra just sighed before she stopped from her tracks causing her brother to stop too. Their personal knights were following them, maintaining a good distance where they are able to see them and their surroundings.

"I don't want to walk around anymore, brother, how about we go to the bookstore that you told me about earlier."

"I see, then let me—"

"Thief! There's a thief!"

"This is the third time this week!"

"Move! Move! Thief!"

"Chase after him!"

"Hey! There's another one!"

"There's a group of thieves! Chase after them!"

"Make way!"

A commotion suddenly happened and a group of people came out of nowhere, running around and shoving people away from them. The people who were guarding the stalls also left their station just to chase the group as they also stole some of their goods. Even the people passing by were confused and shoved away. Since Alexandra and Calixander were in the middle of the road with many people passing by them, they were being pushed inside especially Alexandra as she was small and was drowned by the sea of people.

"Brother!"

"Move!"

"Alexa!"

"Ow! That hurts!"

"Get out of my way!"

"Hey, stop!"

Their knights lost sight of them because of the commotion that was happening, Christopher wanted to chase the thieves down but his topmost priority was Alexandra and Calixander however, it was hard to see them because of what's happening right now. Multiple people bumped and passed by them obstructing their view. The commotion was still happening and multiple stalls with their goods were destroyed and scattered on the ground as the thieves would use that to throw it to the people chasing after them just to distract them.

Carlos was even hit on the face by a tomato, blocking his view and making him lose sight of Alexandra for seconds.

And the commotion died down as it was transferred to another place or location, some people were still chasing after them. Scattered destroyed goods and stalls were everywhere, some people were on the ground lightly injured because they were one of the people who were shoved, punched in the face, or pushed away, Calixander who was a few steps away from them was now like 20 steps away.

However, he was alone and no Alexandra was seen beside him.
